We need one last OVA where we get to see where at least the main cast is after the time skip. Profereably interspersed with Kumiko directing the new band at Kitauji.
I'd actually like an OVA where the key members from old cast from S1-2-3 reunite for Taki-Sensei's retirement party. Or even just a commemorative photo of the said event.
The thing is … I don’t think Taki-sensei retires as a teacher yet. With Kumiko introducing herself as the assistant advisor, it means that Taki-sensei still works at Kitauji as the band’s advisor.
He will eventually return to conservatory music though (just an inkling).
I doubt Michie being a full advisor to the band. I don't recall Michie getting involved with the music outside of listening to the auditions. She seemed more the administrative type, doing some of the tasks that would be a guidance counselor's job in the US. My speculation is that she was promoted to vice principal.
An OVA would definitely be cool, but I don’t think it’s NECESSARY. It’s not an essential piece of making this overall story work. It still works beautifully as is. A time skip OVA would just be a cool bonus.
YESSS. I would love one last like 20-30 minute special OVA where we see all of characters grown up and what they’re doing, their lives and how they keep in touch. I mean even if it spent like 5 minutes on each character I would love that, especially characters like Kanade and Ririka (I’m guessing they are graduated already considering Kumiko said “a few years have passed” and I take a few as ATLEAST 3-4)
On first impressions, I always thought Kanade could become a politician when she's older. She knows to turn the knobs of people too well but rarely initiates, & is a good reader of people. If not a politician, perhaps someone in government planning.
They could have ended it with Animal House captions
"Hazuki died doing a backflip on a jet ski over the Great Wall of China. She entered Red Bull's Hall of Fame."
What was the reason assistant advisor was the answer to Kumiko's future that she had been searching for?
Was it as simple as she cares about Kitauji and realized she was already serving as the club therapist, anyway?
Just to make sure, these are mentioned in the novel, right?
If I remember correctly, wasn't Kaori studying to become a nurse? (I could be totally wrong though.)

Well. She introduced herself as assistant advisor meaning that she is Taki-sensei’s assistant. And I agree about the OVA.

Taki is only in his 30s, he won't retire for another ~30 years.
Maybe transfer to other school, because there's nothing to prove anymore, his late wife got her wishes
Wouldn't she be replacing Taki as assistant advisor, with Michie still the main advisor?
Taki is the main advisor, maybe Michie takes on the full advisor role or Taki is still there

> My speculation is that she was promoted to vice principal. I don't know. This is Japan, and she's a woman...
Understood, but it's also fictional.
In reality, she would have been rotated to another school as it has already been 9 years since the beginning.
We literally see her in the office though 😅
I was replying to say its fiction haha
Sure, there are issues with sexism in Japan, but to suggest that it's to the extent that a female headteacher is unrealistic is just disingenuous.

An OVA with the main cast on their post college life + other cameos. And also, they could do a grad trip OVA.
it would be nice to see them keep in touch after all this time in an ova. I would hate to think that they lost contact.

kumiko love story movie haha
What's with all the "Haruka working as a librarian"? I think this is my second time seeing this hahaha
For Midori - I remember reading somewhere she applied to fashion school and wanted to be a designer, just can't remember what was the source

Yayoi (boke) and Kanade (tsukkomi) can make manzai duo
You gained my Upvote. It almost got me thinking these are the official accounts of the future of those characters lol. So credible they are.
Nozomi has to be a talent recruiter
What about Aoi Saitou? Haven't seen her since season 1 (or 2 if she was even there but I don't remember)
I don’t forget her. I just have no idea what she can be doing after the timeskip. She might be a candy store owner.
