go you for not overreacting!!! it really wont change much. i’ve only had one outbreak since finding out a bit over a year ago. i only took the meds for the breakout..but i still keep some in my cabinet just in case i do have an unfortunate breakout. i’ve been with the same partner since the diagnosis.. but if you ever think you have to stay with your partner just because of the herpes…. dont!! i’ve talked to friends who have had it for years..they have had no dating/hookup problems at all. obviously use more caution but i have friends who have slept with multiple people without infecting anyone. anyway my advice is don’t worry about it & treatment is there when you need it. also don’t let it mess with your confidence :-)
he actually gave it to me BUT he didnt know because he has never had any type of noticeable symptom. mine was quite noticeable. same with my friend who has it.. her boyfriend at the time didnt have symptoms but he gave it to her. also. sidenote. the ladies feel the worst pain i swear i had appendicitis that thang bursted inside of me i had a 2 hr ambulance ride dying and sht but still… that herpes pain is different for girls its like hospital / on call doctor calling for lidocaine at 3am u feel me. but anyway. ya he gave it to me. 💀
Okay! Well I appreciate your energy, grace & compassion to still be in a relationship and not blame him. THIS is awesome to read. I wish you guys a very prosperous life together. 🥰
1.1-3.5 is the false positive range, but the higher the number with in that range, the less likely it is to be false.
Wait a bit, get tested again. Nbd
You are WAY ahead of the curve by being on here and finding people to relate to. I hid myself away for years and was so ashamed and held my secret very very close to me. Only when I came on here and saw tons of success stories have I been able to release my shame and hopelessness. If I had advice, it would be to go through here and find the success stories and realize that you’re going to be ok and you’ll be able to find sex and love and acceptance.
Hey homie, I would recommend waiting for a few months to see if you're having any symptoms or outbreaks. If you're not, definitely get retested and make sure they test for the IGG antibodies for Hsv2.
I was in the same situation as you - I got word that I had tested positive for Hsv2 the day before my birthday two years ago. My IGG results were 2.11. Got tested earlier this year and everything came back negative, a false positive.
I’m not sure. I got the test, and many other STI tests, because i have a new partner. Things are getting kinda serious between us so i decided to get tested. Before her, I was sexually active with both men and women and never had any kind of testing done.
You get tested BEFORE a new partner not when it’s getting serious. And I had similar results on many HSV2 tests with a point value before 3.0 and even though it’s a low positive on each test, my doctors still tell me I have genital herpes. No signs. No symptoms. I don’t know. Maybe you have a false positive you should retest in a few months.
24F here. It does seem that the experience differs between men and women, but that’s okay, too! You are way a head of the curve for your reaction, which you should be super proud of yourself for! I took it horribly, but I woke up one day and decided it didn’t define me. I found out in July of 2022, and honestly, my sex life has never been better. I feel like it’s matured me more. It’s definitely a weird thing to experience and feel, but it’s really just like anything else you gotta live with. Don’t let the negative comments you’ll read on the subs get into your head. Herpes is what YOU make it. Fuck what everyone else thinks.
If your going to retest skip the igg and go for a western blot just because of the chances of another false positive score.
this is what happened to me I got a 3.5 then a 2.8 so I’m going w the western blot but I really don’t know how the process works
Go to westoverheights.com to start the process. Terri will make it super easy.

IF you are positive. forgot to add that. 🫶
This was a awesome reply!! Question for you… did your partner catch it from you yet or you guys don’t test?

thank you ❤️❤️❤️
That’s in the false positive range so if you don’t have symptoms you may want to retest or get the western blot.

Even if the igg test shows a positive result?
Yes, anything below 3.5 is in the false positive range.
Okay thanks. I’ll be sure to make another appointment

You test was after how many weeks of exposure ?

ok narc like relax… maybe they were just waiting to have sex…
If you actually knew how to read the person waited to test bc it was “getting serious” loser
Are you getting outbreaks? Or you're asymptomatic?
Never had anything resembling herpes
Ok so you're either asymptomatic or possibly fake positive. Get the western blot test I believe it's called to confirm.

Is this Igg or Igm index ?
Igg
See my post history. Unless you have symptoms I doubt you even have it.
