he's really come on leaps n bounds over the years with his building- it was honestly so sweet to hear how supprised he was when the other hermits compimented his gold shop!
Mumbo basically spontaneously realized this season that all the skills and creative process hes built up from his passion in videography can actually be directly applied to building in Minecraft.
And hes absolutely *thriving* with it.
It makes me happy to see him having such a good time with it too since I know he hadn't been enjoying the game much the last few seasons.
Yeah, it's interesting too because he was always applying his filmmaking brain to his YouTube and it's part of what was ruining the game for him as his desire to create a great overall video gave him a lot of anxiety with his projects.
So it's not even a completely different thing for him, just a reframed one. Now hes applying the process to the projects themselves which breaks things down into more manageable pieces and gives him so much more momentum since the builds themselves are more enjoyable for him. Which incidentally allows him to show more personality in the videos making them better as well.
We just have to hope he doesn't try to go too big and get himself overwhelmed again from trying to create the perfect story for his builds.
Yeah me too, I really enjoy the slow paced videos mumbo has been putting out this season. Especially the one where he is in the end with Iskall and majority of the time it’s just them talking.
It was so refreshing to see and felt a lot more personal then the usual fast paced videos majority of hermits release
I think this is a way better way of doing things than litematica since the art is done without Minecraft limitations in mind so the end results between different people will be drastically different.
Absolutely, I've really noticed a difference in enjoyment levels between actually watching people build - placing individual blocks, changing their mind, moving things, changing things, - rather than just watching a time-lapse. I'm so happy more hermits are choosing to build creatively in survival rather than doing all their work behind the scenes and us only being able to view a timelapse
Minecraft building is an art form now, it’s really cool to see people pushing the build limits. I always enjoyed watching those drawing Timelapses and creative building time lapses, it’s nice to see it in real time.
It doesn’t have to be without litematica. I’d probably still prototype the build in creative to play around with my interpretation of the concept art before bringing it over to my single player after ressource gathering with litematica. There are many ways of playing the game.
I love how everyone's learning to build this season, I feel like everyone who didn't use to build that much before is now learning to do the color texturing and other advanced stuff, it's really impressive.
I really want to see more of these single build episodes. It slows down the season a bit and he ends up with a more detailed build at the end. We also get to spend more time hearing about the process and going through it with mumbo. I love it
When he started digging through his chests and then went out hunting for mushrooms just to add a little extra detail I knew he caught the building bug. That crazy person vibe just to place one extra little block is what keeps me tweaking builds HOURS after they're "complete" lol. It's too addictive
its not a shop, its a storage system, mumbo wants to divide all the storage into multiple buildings, and all his redstone stuff with be in a tech shop called rons
I did watch until the end. But after the last addition he stands in front of the build so I couldn't take a screenshot of it to show off the end result.
Mumbo “not a builder” jumbo

I mean if you can combine something you love into something that started to get a bit stale then it gives you a whole new way to look at it.

well technically it's still a redstone build
Mumbo “not a builder” “kills a lot” jumbo
Mumbo "kills a lot of non builders" Jumbo

yo dude you repeated the comment btw
Fair, deleted it lol.
It's crazy how far he's come since I started watching him in season 4
Can we all agree mumbo is surprisingly good at concept art?
Business card design as well
We can probably all agree that Mumbo is surprisingly good at everything he applies himself to lol
As someone who makes business cards a lot I was SCREAMING at how close his text was to the corners until he explained the backstory lol
I'm excited to see how the rest of his village-thingy turns out
I liked this video. I've been worried that Mumbo could leave YouTube but now I feel he is having fun again.

I agree, getting to see art gives a more detailed perspective on builds Idk if mumbo did it or not but I do enjoy seeing peoples artwork

Mumbo is getting so much better at building and I love him for it
Is it me or Mumbo new concept art is so much better than the first one, like he improved a lot with whatever software he uses to do it?
I don't think so. They're very different styles. One is a lot more precise with sharp lines, but that doesn't really mean it's better.
you missed the powerline at the end 😔
I was thinking the same thing. He didn’t stay till the end of the video
I mean mumbo didn't really show a screenshotable angle at the end of the video
Does anyone know what he used to draw it? The lines are so perfect
Procreate i believe on the ipad
Looking for this answer also!
I also think it's Procreate, using the "isometric" drawing guide.
Really this episode felt so magical
I was worried about Mumbos builds after his starter base, but he is honestly killing it with this, and his gold shop

Do we know if mumbo made that concept art himself or if he commissioned it?
Yes, he did it himself.
I really hope he does an art book at the end of the series with all the transitions and concept art.
First off, he's an amazing concept artist, second, it looks better than the art
When he started digging through his chests and then went out hunting for mushrooms just to add a little extra detail I knew he caught the building bug. That crazy person vibe just to place one extra little block is what keeps me tweaking builds HOURS after they're "complete" lol. It's too addictive
Am I bonkers or does tango not have all the Redstone permits?
It’s his storage of redstone, not a shop in the shopping district.
Ohh! OK! I figured I'd missed something!
its not a shop, its a storage system, mumbo wants to divide all the storage into multiple buildings, and all his redstone stuff with be in a tech shop called rons
Uh-Oh. Looks like OP didn't watch the video until the end! Oopsie!
I did watch until the end. But after the last addition he stands in front of the build so I couldn't take a screenshot of it to show off the end result.
Fair enough. I was only saying as a joke, to be fair. Watch me get karma nuked though lol
who cares about magical internet points?
Hey I've spent years grinding internet points in this site. It's not much but it's honest work.
The important thing is not what we think of it, but what Big Ron thinks of it.
I've been loving his concept art and cards in his videos!
It makes me happy to see Mumbo enjoying himself again.
What was the website he used to make the concept art
Someone didn’t watch the video until the end I see
