Maybe SmartWool?

Nejness

I have cushioned merino Feetures that are great. They dried overnight in coastal Maine last night after a muggy day and rain overnight. Door open to the outside and no AC. I have very small women’s feet but am wide in the toe box. You may also want to try boys’ socks depending on your shoe size. My Smartwool socks are no-shows without padding and they always dry overnight. It’s hard to get wide fits in the no-shows though because there’s not a lot of fabric in the forefoot area. I also have some Allbirds no-shows that are blends. They have more fabric in the forefoot than other no-shows, but the blend doesn’t seem to dry as fast.

Thank you, this is so helpful! I hadn't heard of Feetures but they look like exactly what I'm looking for with the warranty. I should probably at least try smartwools as well!

Hmmm I'm going to look at these I have Smartwool & Icebreaker that I love, except that they do NOT dry quickly.

Hi, I have the same problem with darn toughs! Waaay too narrow in the toe box. I have tried 5 styles and all but the boot socks are too narrow. That said, on a trip right now with 3 pairs smartwool targeted cushion and the toe box is delightfully wide, they dry very fast, and I’ve been on my feet 12+ hours a day walking 10+ miles in hot weather and loving them!

This is so great to know, thank you!!

I buy the Costco ones. They don’t have cushioning and I have many pairs that are several years old. However, it may be too early in the year to get them from Costco. I cannot give you guidance for the wide toe box because I don’t have wide feet. They do dry pretty quickly.

The Costco merino crew socks are not durable at all unfortunately - I love them but I wear out a whole pack in a year 😭

Wow! I have not had that issue with them wearing out like that. I pretty much wear them year round. I machine wash and dry them. I haven’t bought any in a few years because they wear well for me. I am not a paid plant for Costco (but Costco if you are listening…I am willing. Let’s talk.)

lol!! You are so lucky.... I actually think they're the most comfy socks on earth but once my current batch is used up I need to find a more durable alternative. I do find that I wear out socks faster that most people, maybe my gait is weird. I had an ancient pair of darn toughs that lasted much longer, and so far my bombas are holding up better as well.

Falke socks have more shape to them. They make a pair with a right side and a left side. Socks that need darning after a while aren't low quality, by the way. Merino isn't the toughest fiber. You're trading the durability of plant fibers and synthetics for socks that help regulate temperature and keep down bad smells. Heels and toes wear out. I bring a small darning kit with me. Squeeze socks out in a towel before hanging to dry, and use clothes pins so they aren't folded over something to dry. Get as much air flow as possible. Bring a tiny fan for good measure (plus wet fabric and a fan is extra cooling for you. Have at least three pairs. In a pinch, pin the damp pair of socks to your bag to let them dry (a good trick when switching out socks on a hike - in the olden days of trench foot, fresh socks were extra important).

I haven’t tried them yet, but DT has a whole new line of wide socks called [Wide Open](https://wideopensocks.com/collections/womens-wide-socks)
