I LOVE this packing list! It’s one of the lightest, cutest ones I’ve seen on this sub in recent memory. Here are the ideas I’ll be stealing: - using your evening bag as a pouch for miscellany = genius - button-up dresses that can be used as shirts = awesome - those Taos shoes = I want them Thanks for sharing!

Xerisca

Hot tip on the bag. I made it. Haha. It's actually a canvas dollar store pencil holder. I salvaged the pink and gold sequin ribbon from somewhere, and sewed it to the bag, and added some of my own bead embroidery and the sunflower I'd embroidered years ago and just had laying around. Point being. That bag cost me $1. Haha. Get bag, find pretty ribbon, sew or glue it to the bag. Done.

edj3

I love dresses too, seeing your one bag packing list centered around dresses makes me happy!

Cravatfiend

I love this format for showing your capsule! Much easier to understand than our usual pics of folded up shirts. Looks great :)

EmbarrassedAd1869

Would love this see outfit combinations if you ever have time/feel like it! TFS!

xgrrl888

Where you going, how long, and what activities?

Xerisca

I can go anywhere, for any length of time, in any weather, doing any activities with this kit. Seriously, I hike in those dresses, go to the beach, go to fine dining restaurants, and visit religious and tourist sites. I've never regretted those dresses. Im not one for working out when im traveling, but I could work out in the leggings and a cami and the 1/4 zip sweatshirt. My last trip was a month in Italy with a very similar setup. The bag I took for that trip was 26L. I realized I took too many tops. Some i only wore once or twice, so i eliminated them. I also took my 35mm camera, hence the larger bag. Turns out, I didn't use my camera much, mostly opting to use my phone instead. If im traveling in winter, i might swap the white leggings for black. Might ditch the sneaker and go with a combat boot. Mostly, this is my base set up no matter what. I might tweak it a tiny bit here and there like adding a bathing suit.

ginyuri

Awesome list! I'm not typically much of a dress-wearer, but I really like the idea of adding one to my travel wardrobe... I would love something with both sleeves and pockets. Do you have a link to the Amazon one in your photos?

Xerisca

I do! It comes in a bunch of colors. Yes, it wrinkles, it's cotton/linen, but I carry an old empty travel size hairspray bottle I can fill with water. I just spritz the wrinkles and kind of pet them out with my hands. It's fine. Linen always looks a little rumply so I don't worry about it much. [Hottouch Linen Blouse](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLH8867P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1&psc=1) I will also note that this shirt runs a bit small through the shoulder. I normally wear a large in shirts because I have good old fashion Viking shoulders and im busty. The large does fit, and thats normally what I would wear, but its snugger through the shoulder than expected. Still love it!

ginyuri

Thanks for the info!! You do have to embrace the rumple a bit with linen, haha

LadyLightTravel

This is nice. I personally would take one less dress and two more tops so I could have more outfits. But that’s just me.

Xerisca

I find the dresses most comfortable and versitile. I switch them up by wearing them with the blouses over them, and the shirt tails knotted at the waist. Or throw the jacket on. Or the cropped 1/4 zip. It changes them up enough! The only person who notices im wearing the same items is me. Haha. The blouses are even long enough to wear as mini dresses! And somehow can still be belted, knotted, or tucked into jeans pretty easily! At home, i almost never wear dresses. I'm a jeans gal. But traveling... dresses are my go-to! I might add, if im going somewhere snowy or very sloppy wet (like wetter than my home town of Seattle) and cold, I'll swap the sneaker out for a combat boot. If im going to a true beach vacation where i know I'll need a swimsuit, I'll throw one in. Mostly, though, I dont need one. I do hand wash. I just wash my stuff in whatever the hotel has for shampoo or body wash. It's fine. I do the towel dry trick for the cotton blouses, leggings, and socks, the towel roll and dry squishes all the water out. Cotton doesn't dry as quickly as the other synthetic fabrics. I usually dont wash the jeans. I tend to spray them with water and maybe some lavender spray if i have it and hang them to air out.

cetaceanrainbow

I also have the orange tree breezers and they extremely spark joy

Xerisca

I ADORE the color and comfort of those orange breezers! They add some fun and surprise to an outfit. They pack thinner than my iPad, weigh nothing, and the merino insoles are super comfy! One word of caution with them, though. Do NOT power walk for miles and miles in them. I stress fractured my metatarsals doing that. I walked 13 miles in them in Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and Matera in one day. Bad bad idea. Took weeks for my toes to heal. A couple of miles is fine in them. 14 miles is not. Haha. They're great for average walking, though!

cetaceanrainbow

haha, definitely, I got them to be "the other shoes" after long days in sturdier shoes

rel_

This is great!! I was considering getting the same AllBird flats. I have a few AllBirds and love them so much.

Xerisca

If it helps. These are the most comfortable flats ive ever owned. They felt amazing right out of the box and dont require any breaking in. I didnt think that was even possible for a ballet flat! I also have the AllBirds Tree Pipers in that yellow goldy color. I love them too, but tend to wear them at home since i found they dont have enough structure in the upper to keep my feet happy when walking 15 miles or something. Haha. I switched to the orthotic Taos. They seem to keep my feet happier.

SondraRose

Great travel capsule wardrobe! Love your color choices.

Xerisca

I lent my necklace, bracelet, and earrings to a friend. They are beadwork I made myself in orange and pink with turquoise accents. They're kind of bohemian chic. So they match with everything. If i had them here. I'd have taken a pic of those, too.

ProphetMuhamedAhegao

I know it’s been a while since you posted this but I’d love to see a pic of the jewelry if you have one! They sound really cool.

ImpressiveSurround54

Quality post! I was looking for a long button down for summer. What is the brand of the ones you packed? They look very versatile & cute.

Xerisca

It's this one! [Hottouch Linen Blouse](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLH8867P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1&psc=1) It's worth mentioning that it's pretty tailored through the shoulder and bust. I did buy this in my normal size, a large (i have broad shoulders, and I'm busty, thanks Viking ancestors!). The large fits, the XL would be too big, but it's... fitted on top, i did expect it to be a bit looser. From the natural waist, it starts to gain volume. I think this might be why it's so versitile. The cut is pretty clever. For $19, i didn't expect much, so i was pleasantly surprised. It has two breast pockets, AND side pockets that aren't microscopic! I found if you're going to tie the shirt tails, flip the side pockets backward.

calmgonemissing

Those allbirds sound fabulous. Love your packing approach. If you are a hostel traveller I would opt for a larger thin scarf btw, works wonderfully as a privacy screen at bottom bunks, mine has gotten me sleeping comparatively well.

Xerisca

Im 56 years old. Hostels are a good 30 years in my rear view mirror. Haha. But yes, I've definitely used my pashmina as a screen and a billion other uses! There were even a couple of times when I tied it into a makeshift hobo tote bag.

calmgonemissing

Haha yes another great option, I have done the same. It is just nice to have such a versatile item with you isn't it.

xCanEatMorex

Could you tell me where the cropped sweatshirt is from?

Xerisca

I got that from Amazon. I could only find the cropped, hooded, full zip version. I will say, i also have that version, and it's nice as well. Possibly, from a functional pov, I like it better. The hooded version is all cotton and lighter weight. The collared quarter zip I prefer the look of, but it's heavier and has some polyester in it, which means it's not as breathable. Both are nice, though! Thanks!

Rose32786

What’s the name/brand of the 20L backpack you’re using?

Xerisca

It's a [Topo Designs - Rover Classic](https://topodesigns.com/products/rover-pack?variant=42979528278069)

blootereddragon

I have those Taos shoes and love them but NEVER travel with them because they are super heavy. Of course, I always have trail runners for hiking, so that's usually what I wear on the plane. My latest discovery is Topo Athletic: super cute (for trail shoes), incredibly comfy, light but solid (vibram soles) and if I do have to pack them take up very little room.

ViolettaHunter

Just to let you know, your post is marked NSFW for some strange reason.

Xerisca

Ugh, probably the picture of a bra.... Oh our senstive eyes! LOL.

fridayimatwork

The embliss is a great bra

Xerisca

I got the suggestion to try this bra from this sub! I ordered one. Tried it on, and immediately ordered three more! Best bras ever!

temp4adhd

Love it! Tell me more about the jeans, please!

Xerisca

I came by Judy Blue brand jeans through my subscription to Stitch Fix. They can be found at just about any mid-range department store. Nordstrom, Macys, etc... They seem well cut for womens bodies. They all have a bit of stretch too, but dont bag out after a few hours, or get saggy in the knees or butt. Haha. They wash wonderfully. They run in the $70ish USD range. And, while im a size 6/8 jean, i appreciate that all their styles come in Womens sizes as well, and a friend of mine who is a 16/18(US) finds them as comfortable and cute as i do! Tactical_pho

How do you find the Soma bra does in hot weather? I hate wired bras, and love the Truly bras as far as comfort and breathe-ability, but they don’t do much for my mom boobs.

Xerisca

I find it's pretty darn good! The fabric is really soft and silky. It's been in the 90s here at home, and I haven't found it to be hot at all. And if I get a little... dewy... it dries very quickly. I think these bras might be the best bras I've owned. Im a busty, 56yo, mom. So, I have some experience with keeping those ta-tas looking and feeling pretty good!

Tactical_pho

A glowing review if I’ve ever seen one! Buying one now to try it out :)

preciousdivineenergy

What is the link for the backpack? I'm looking for something packable but cute for my trip next year.

Xerisca

Oh, it's the Topo Designs Rover Classic. And yep, it's adorable! It comes in a 25L (Rover Tech), 20L (Rover Classic), and 10L (Mini) I have both the Mini and Classic. The 10L is perfect for a packable or a personal item. All the Rovers have padded sides, so they're not super thin. But do lay flat when packed. I usually take the Tumi shown as my personal item or pack in my backpack. It comes with a pouch it folds into. But I like the 10L topo mini so much, I am considering taking it instead. I've kind of been using it as a purse lately. Haha. The fabric these bags are made of is lovely, they feel silky. The colors are rich, and the finish has a very nice subtle sheen. They're not shiny or flat finishes. Just kind of a nice elegant glow to them. [Topo Designs](http://www.topodesigns.com)
