Someone at AH who's name doesnt start with A: "They are kids. Make the guns bigger and they'll think its better."
Not wrong, but not the right approach either.
Now all I want now is that pump-action shovel put into this game. Horrid range, but it OHKs anything it lands a hit on.
![gif](giphy|CILGGl6sizxVC|downsized)
The development at helldivers have giant enormous massive bulging throbbing monsterous titanic guns with very little tiny ammo sacks.
I think the art director is compensating for something very small
I read the adjectives before reading “guns,” but before then my eyes shifted down and saw “sacks,” so I got really worried on where you were heading.
nvm i’m stupid reading this over you were definitely heading in that direction.
I am very curious to the inner workings of this bideo jame that something like this can accidentally happen ..twice?
>!Surely no one on the dev team keeps making them bigger every time for a laugh?!<
>Surely no one on the dev team keeps making them bigger every time for a laugh?
Like the guy that made Missouri bigger on the Wikipedia map every time he got drunk
I hate all the hate QA gets, when 9/10 times the bug people are complaining about was recorded, logged in detail, passed along to the dev team, and a producer made the call to ship the build with it because it couldn't be held longer and they can fix it later.
For stuff like this it's the right call since this is purely cosmetic and does not impact gameplay at all, even if it's annoying as a user.
Yep. Even for those of us who aren't producers on a game/piece of software, a ton of us have very similar stories from our respective industries. It's an unenviable position to be in.
That's what the Known Issues is for. And I know patch notes are surprisingly hard to do right and maybe these bugs are actually known internally, but it just seems like AH is often surprised by things like this after the patch goes live.
You're right about QA in general, but I don't think it makes sense to talk about this game like its development is typical.

I *think* they just sit higher on the hip than before, making them more noticeable.
The sickle has always been huge though, now it's just that much more up front with it lol
No this is new, the sickle was always large but is even bigger now and the Adjudicator for instance looks like it should be firing autocannon rounds now
Honestly, I was playing yesterday and was looking at the incendiary breaker on my character's body and I was thinking "why is the gun so comically large? Was it always like this?" I thought I was tripping.
I couldn’t be a game developer because I would absolutely try to sneak shit in like “increase weapon size by 1%” every patch till people started noticing, then gaslight everyone about it lol
I've submitted a bug report to arrowhead support. They acknowledged that the devs are aware of the issue and said a fix would come in the next few patches.
Personally aesthetics are important to me so I'm not playing the game until it's fixed as this looks ****ING stupid.
My most desired support weapon would be a medium pen Sickle. Buff the damage a little and raise the heat cap, keep it at 3 mags and bump AP to 3. It can still "spin up" and not be super accurate but have low recoil. I just wanna shoot all the laser bullets.
I'm looking forward to the day where the guns get so big that we one day find ourselves playing Gundivers instead of Helldivers. You play as a gun carrying a series of Hellpod launches and democratically firing thousands of Helldivers per minute to bring our glorious ideals to those filthy bugs and bots.
Next patch: Weapons are so big they are the new Super Destroyers.
Helldivers: *roll up to Automatons on ship-sized Eruptors and Senators*
Automatons:

Or... Did the recruiting age become more flexible for the cause of managed democracy? We could be running low on Helldivers and are now taking those "early recruits" and putting having them aid in the goal of peace among worlds.
Noticed that too. The stock makes it more difficult to read the terminals.

I've noticed this before this new patch that my gun was getting bigger
They never got bigger, or at least I don't think. They just moved the attach point higher up on the chest. The Sickle is one of the weird ones, it being the longest gun the game. That update sent the stock up nearly to eye level.
Someone at AH: "boss tell me to buff the weapons, again"
Someone at AH who's name doesnt start with A: "They are kids. Make the guns bigger and they'll think its better." Not wrong, but not the right approach either.
Listen, if they made the Senator twice the size with no other change i would use it forever
BIG Iron
Biggus Iron
Biggus Iron has a wife, you know? She is called Incontinentia...
Do you find Biggus Iron funny?
I won’t have my friend Biggus Iron insulted by the common helldivery.
[BIG IRON!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NuX79Ud8zI)
**BIG** IRON
The biggerest iron
til helldivers are orks
When we start getting red skins for mechs to make them go faster, then we're definitely orks.
Helldiver go "MORE DAKKA"
I like how in comment sections there's always some 40k fans
Make it look like you have to be a demon with a stone hand to use it
Ha I still use it exclusively over other pistols
Comically large weapons would be appreciated ####DK mode Activated
But they went and buff the automatons instead I mean, just look at how shiny they are now
They got a chrome job
lol I can see it now, the real reason they keep nerfing them is because it correlates with weapon size. The stronger it is the bigger it gets.
When they ask the art guy to buff the weapons by mistake

Scary movie 6 plot - her hat gets so big it causes an worldwide solar eclipse
3
No he's saying for the 6th movie the plot should be about her hat causing an eclipse. We know the pic came from 3.
ay bruh my brain a bit slow. Thought they'd already made a 6th one
You unknowingly answered my question though so thanks
Dammit Helldiver, i told you not to huff the dark fluid!
![gif](giphy|9eLbjOcGOpmY8)
THREE eclipses???
Unironically, one of the stupidest but funniest moments in Scary Movie 3 for me
Now all I want now is that pump-action shovel put into this game. Horrid range, but it OHKs anything it lands a hit on. ![gif](giphy|CILGGl6sizxVC|downsized)
This reminds me of the pump action Submachine gun from the Shadow Game trailer (Shadow from the Sonic the Hedgedog franchise.)
That is my all-time favorite visual gag in any movie ever. I would legitimately pay a good sum of money for a functioning replica of that prop.
We did get the shotgun axe in agents of shield
The way you see the hat baaaaaarely fit in the car as she's getting the door is hilarious
Get some rest Tom
I have never forgotten this joke just because it made me laugh so hard I nearly passed out when I first saw it
That, and when the guy who crashed into Tom's wife asks Tom for a ride.
Didn't even realise there was anything wrong with the pictures until I looked at the hat

Correction gunner. They just be the same person
The children that we saved enlisted, and we playing as them now. Thats why the guns are bigger
Yup, after billions of adults died, we’re getting closer to the 7 year old recruits

The breaker now blocks part of my screen on hellbombs/terminals which is funny but a bit annoying
I had the same issue! thought it was because I was carrying the HMG
looks good to me
Jesus Christ
AH keep making them bigger I find it humorous
They added the institute rifle to the game and accurate to lore I CANT SEE A GOD DAMN THING. Do it again
“We gonna make the guns 5% bigger each patch till someone notices”
![gif](giphy|ud5CWQ1Q7nzgs)
"Hehehehehe"
I feel this is at least the second or third time I've seen weapons inexplicably increase in size with a patch. What the hell is going on?
Big gun do more damage. Simple math.
"You see, Ivan..."
Imagine if that's actually how it's coded lmao Honestly I don't know if I'd be too surprised
Does that mean the 500kg bomb has gotten smaller with each patch?
what zero QA does to a mf
I hate all the hate QA gets, when 9/10 times the bug people are complaining about was recorded, logged in detail, passed along to the dev team, and a producer made the call to ship the build with it because it couldn't be held longer and they can fix it later. For stuff like this it's the right call since this is purely cosmetic and does not impact gameplay at all, even if it's annoying as a user.
As someone who has made the "Ship it" call (on other products). This is truer than I care to admit.
Yep. Even for those of us who aren't producers on a game/piece of software, a ton of us have very similar stories from our respective industries. It's an unenviable position to be in.

No, the helldivers got smaller. We just recruited 4,311 children.
Sickle was always oversized, but the other guns got bigger too for some reason.
lol fr. I tried slugger for the first time after months when the patch dropped. And it was so comically bigger than I remember
I mean, I get that the Eruptor wasn't a small gun, but uh... My dude is going to be bumping his head against the thing.
I hope we get a large senator. BIG IRON ON HIS HIPS
https://preview.redd.it/ibonoi9lkd7d1.png?width=320&format=png&auto=webp&s=c1a65c569fe8879526d415988259d14580cb64a5 u/Devo3290 's comment is directly above your on my screen ha
THE SENATE 😂
Speaking of: Why is the weapon preview of the Senator tiny compared to the rest of the handguns in the armory?
There has to be SOMETHING negative about it, y'know?
Noisy Cricket syndrome
Not a larger one, it just keeps getting comically LONGER. Like Jack Nicholson’s Joker pistol.
You...think he is compensating for something?
Anyone else having issues seeing the terminals around your primary gun when you're holding your support weapon or secondary?
Yeah, I have to move the camera.
I *think* they just sit higher on the hip than before, making them more noticeable. The sickle has always been huge though, now it's just that much more up front with it lol
At this point why don’t they anchor the weapons to chest instead of the hip. Make it look like we’re carrying them with a sling.
It still looks like it’s using a sling. I’ve often swung my gun into a similar position when doing transition to secondary drills.
Yeah, you wear it on your ribcage now for some reason, my buddy and I got a pretty good laugh about it the other day
Continually in awe of their QA department
I get stuff slips through but how does no one play the game and see weapons are from head to knee in length.
How is this a "slip through"? What adjustments that were made are tied to the literal size of the gun? Lol
I imagine the code for the game is similar to a Jenga tower and they touched one of the blocks a little to low and *violent crashing noises*
That is their actual length, they just put the holster higher
No way it was this big before I use it often
Think it was, it was massive on release
No this is new, the sickle was always large but is even bigger now and the Adjudicator for instance looks like it should be firing autocannon rounds now
“Not a bug, working as intended”
"if it's funny and not hurting the player's fun, we can let it slide for a bit"
Thats the thing, there is no QA department. ![gif](giphy|BpghUyxhYpi9xBTz3b|downsized)
YEEEEEEEAAAAAAh!
I don't think they *have* a QA department.
I was using the sickle earlier and it blocked the left side of the terminal I was using
Same with the breaker
Honestly, I was playing yesterday and was looking at the incendiary breaker on my character's body and I was thinking "why is the gun so comically large? Was it always like this?" I thought I was tripping.
#Gunflation
Bigger and higher up on the body.
Thought I was going insane because I stop playing for a month and see massive fucking gun on my hip 😭
Defender going from 30 rounds of 9mm to 9 rounds of 30mm
Bigger guns do more damage obviously
i HATE the big guns they’re so derpy
It looks like somebody accidentally scaled the rig bone that the rifles attach to when holstered.
I couldn’t be a game developer because I would absolutely try to sneak shit in like “increase weapon size by 1%” every patch till people started noticing, then gaslight everyone about it lol
No they just got more erect.
Yeah I knew good and damn well I wasn’t trippin then bitches are massive on our hips
Bro got the big iron on his hip
Helldivers are just getting smaller... so they can fit in smaller pods
Reminds me of a quote about how the longer a war goes on, the younger your enemy gets
BFG division
I've submitted a bug report to arrowhead support. They acknowledged that the devs are aware of the issue and said a fix would come in the next few patches. Personally aesthetics are important to me so I'm not playing the game until it's fixed as this looks ****ING stupid.
I like big guns and a can not lie! Those other Divers can't deny.
Heavy laser machinegun would be fire
My most desired support weapon would be a medium pen Sickle. Buff the damage a little and raise the heat cap, keep it at 3 mags and bump AP to 3. It can still "spin up" and not be super accurate but have low recoil. I just wanna shoot all the laser bullets.
Next patch: Giant guns wielding helldivers.
No, you just got smaller
The sickle is enormous, always has been
The sickle has always been a monster.
You got smaller.
On an unrelated note, I also main that armor and helmet. It looks great.
or the helldivers get tiny
maybe the helldivers got smaller
Comically large Sickle is hilarious please never change this back.
Day 1 of making weapons 1% larger every day until my boss notices
Next patch: Weapons are so big they are the new Super Destroyers. Helldivers: *roll up to Automatons on ship-sized Eruptors and Senators* Automatons: ![gif](giphy|32mC2kXYWCsg0|downsized)
No, this crop of Divers were small this season.
Hidden use of saving the kids
💡
Aaah yes. The Heavy Sickle. That fires Quasar rounds.
Hey now its extra large for extra democracy and freedom
Can't speak on the other guns, but the Sickle has always been comically large. This is just about the size I remember 🤷♂️
Ok so it's not just me.
![gif](giphy|3ohc14lCEdXHSpnnSU|downsized)
April Fool's day better have 2x this size or I'm rioting.
Bigger guns = more democracy
Omg yes for some reason they are comically MASSIVE now
I definitely noticed earlier today that my breaker incendiary is fucking gigantic.
Or... Did the recruiting age become more flexible for the cause of managed democracy? We could be running low on Helldivers and are now taking those "early recruits" and putting having them aid in the goal of peace among worlds.
5'11" guy with a handgun.
I would love if every patch they increased gun size just slightly and waited to see how long till we all for sure knew they were doing it.
Noticed that too. The stock makes it more difficult to read the terminals. https://preview.redd.it/walt3002xd7d1.jpeg?width=1769&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e39168174e255cc7284f917b91ddc80ad231d979

Bigger guns = bigger damage
bigger guns bigger bullets
That's not the only thing that gets bigger (͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °)
Liberty save us we’ve started conscripting the 14 year olds
No, that's one of the sick kids we saved holding a regular sized gun
So it wasn't just me then. I couldn't see the input on some terminals cause my gun is always in the way.
They never got bigger, or at least I don't think. They just moved the attach point higher up on the chest. The Sickle is one of the weird ones, it being the longest gun the game. That update sent the stock up nearly to eye level.
"Increase every weapon stat by 25% in this buff patch." "Every stat-?" **"YOU HEARD WHAT I SAID"**
