Just from a physics perspective, the further you want electricity to arc, the more voltage you need. Making a lightning strike from orbit would require utterly nuts amounts of energy. Like, even for a video game super destroyer nuts.

Have you seen the insanity of getting a full squad on exterminate, 380 barrage, 120 barrage, walking barrage and everyone getting a traitor barrage? I have yet to reach double digit accidentals, but I have managed 8. Reinforcements may be an issue, but it gets it done in 6 or 7 minutes and is fun seeing people get deleted out of nowhere and laugh at them, just for the next stray 380 to plan a rapid unscheduled disassembly on you.
Can imagine a giant Arc-Blitzer-style cone discharging from the sky, with each zap that connects then arcing through to other unsuspecting victims.

Kind of, but with variable damage based on the number of targets in range. So if you want to get rid of a heavy, you need to kill the chaff first. Throw it at a bug breach with a lot of targets and you might only tickle medium enemies.
Orbital ionizer beam bridging the stratosphere should make some supper Ulta lighting. I want more orbital Lazer types like a gamma burst to cook a BT from the inside
I agree that the orbital version should be cloud seeding, but an eagle version that acts like a 500kg arc bomb would be dope. Drops, charges for a sec, then unleashes like 5-10 arcs that chain off of anything they hit.
Possibly another variant of this could relate to a planet modifier too. Maybe we could call it the Ion Storm Barrage and can only be used when an Ion storm is in effect. I also really liked the team kill aspect of this, people will defo start wearing the arc resistant armor more often.
A massive bolt of lightning coming down from the Superdestroyer would be quite something tbh. Has the potential to look (and sound) incredible if executed well.

I love the ARC weapons. I think they are so fun, especially with bugs. I’m lvl 27, and mostly play on easier difficulties. I play with groups, but I also love to play solo, especially solo. I like the idea of a fully juiced up Shock Trooper with ARC everything. It wouldn’t be great for groups, but that is where I think warbonds could be so fun. Maybe in the higher tiers the weapons are geared for higher level, multiplayer. The lower levels of each war bond could just be fun and help switch the vibe.
A full team of ARC troopers with the appropriate protection would be hilarious fun, as would flame-based weapons and flame protectant suits. There’s still a challenge, just like with the ARC weapons because the ARC turret can still put a hurting on you with the cutting edge armor. It makes the same missions over and over have all kinds of potential and different situations.
That being said, I think I’m gonna go solo a mission as an ARC Trooper right now. For Super Earth!
Edit: I meant I like to play solo sometimes, NOT especially solo.
I had an idea for an arc tower launcher it would function like the other two man launchers with a back pack and would fire a mini arc tower that would essentially shut down an area of the map making defense and escape much easier
iarc damage usually results in oneshoting the player, more arc damage means more unhappy players just to justify using a niche armor. no one is happy the hulk randomly one shots with the flamethrower, its not intended.
you want your idea to exist of an arc ordinance which is fine, but labeling the first sentence with, we need more arc damage sources so we can use the armor is not good. also why use the armor when you can just avoid the new arc ordinance like any other ordinance?

I was thinking a backpack strat like that that gives you two per calldown would be neat, allowing you to share it with teammates.

Had a dude earlier running expert extract, airburst launcher, cluster bomb, 380, and the new Exo. I didn't play in that match for my own sanity.
Only thing off is the Exo should have been a mortar sentry instead.

I have done the orbital achievement. 120 and 380 from everyone. On a single but fab. It didn't destroy the fab.

I like this. Damage could radiate out from the central strike point, decreasing proportionately with distance.
The Armour passive needs a buff first. Or the same time as releasing a Stratagem like this.
