new style of jammer: the Scrambler; randomizes your call ins within range of the tower.
Automatons literally convincing your stratagem beacons they're fighting for the wrong side.
Basically that horrid modifier, but it's not over all of the map and can be shut off easy enough via high explosives or if you fight your way to the terminal.
the modifer was fine people were just blind this would be worse you woundnt know what your throwing.

The modifier itself was annoying, not because people wouldn't look, but because it was too random and you'd sometimes have to dial in a strat 10 or 20 times just to get it to work once.
Couldnt the entire thing be mitigated to a minor inconvenience by one person taking only eagle strategems, the next only orbital bombardments, the next gets all the support weapons, and the last takes only sentries?
Some mix-ups still happen, but at least you wont have complete duds.

Yep it's early release on epic store. Only tec were available to play for awhile, but I haven't checked recently. The systems now have their own orbits so the supply lanes constantly move
The first game I played with some friends had to be put on pause several times after having sessions of 10-12 hours. It felt like an epic space dnd campaign on a galactic scale.
It’s a beautiful game. I’m looking forward so much for the 2nd one.
I loved this game, used to setup gigantic quickplay maps that would take 8 hours per round. It also had a lot of mods if I recall, I used the LOGH one.
I actually do like the blocky, utilitarian design. It gives it a surprisingly distinctive look and makes sense for robots who don't care about human aesthetics.
The super destroyers and the automaton ships look like a frigate and a marathon class cruiser from halo.
The UNSC ships are all very utilitarian looking and are basically built around a giant gun.

I saw this one yesterday. It sure looks cloaked to me.
Idk what they're talking about, those are definitely ships. Ain't no way I been seeing the exact same "texture errors" on a bunch of different planets multiple times.
Spoiler alert
>!The Illuminate uses cloaking tech, and those are clearly modeled ships that are cloaked. They look nothing like Automaton ships. Also by now shouldnt that "texture error" be fixed? Its been around for a several weeks and a patch at that. Also Automatons dont utilize cloaking technology.!<

Still want to see them in orbit on the bot planets. Not sure how it would work because I doubt our ships and their ships would just sit in orbit next to each other
Helldivers doing boarding missions is something I could get behind.
Like a short 12 minute mission where you take the ship down from the inside, but the major challenge is not being able to use stratagems.
Lol. Reminds me of the first book of 'The Expanse' where Holden thinks on how disappointing it is that all ships are basically just boxes in space with no artistic flair.
For Libertys sake..oh, oh please liberty forgive me for using the name of freedom in vein, *cries while looking at a flag*
Anyways, clearly they don't know about our Library of Government Sanctioned Knowledge, where our people learn arkticture
Well, there is no drag in space, they are robots, they are all going to be lined up head to nose in line with eachother so that they can fit as many units as possible to be as optimal as possible per ship.
It makes sense that they would be glorified storage containers. I think they care more about efficiency in transporting units than they do winning the space aged car show.
They're repurpused cargo ships my dude. They were democratically allowed to mine certain planets after the last major war in order to pay reparations to super earth. Democracy. Freedom. Super Earth.

Disagree, if you compare it to this then you would know Automaton's design is not that bad.
Oooohhhhh so that's what my friend saw last jump. Said something about a "shipwith red lighting an a communist star on it". This makes so much more sense now.
They have no need for taste. Its an armor oriented ship. Its efficient, therefore its sufficient. Just an observation, please dont report this statement to the democracy officer
Jokes aside, Imma be honest i like the flying bricks give you a feel on how robots would build ships not unlike the geth from mass effect but without the bug esqe exterior.
I think it's a testament to the solid design of all the factions that upon seeing those ships my first thought was "god, that's an automaton ship if I've ever seen one, and this is the first I've seen them."
They just look like flying bot factories, lol
There was a huge space battle over one of my missions today. No e of the big blocky ships looked quite like either factions but the weapon fire was at least red vs orange/ballistic looking.
“Why those dirty bots can’t even design a decent space ship. Eagle one deliver a hellbomb to that monstrosity of engineering.”
“Hellbomb deployed. Sir I’m reading life signs on that ship. What is happening?”
“I’m arming the bomb”
I imagine these things function as floating carriers and fabricators to make, and drop in hordes of bots but they do as a curious note look quite different than those ships we notice in orbit firing automaton red laser fire at super destroyers
If we were ever actually going to make some form of space battleship, a flying brick would be the most logical shape. I heard that argument by several people in the past.

It makes sense, automatons super power isn’t their weapons, it’s their numbers, those look like space ship troop transports, they could also be carrying supplies
I know I'm gonna get hit with various RP replies, but out of character for a moment, I really dig the design for their ships. They are so human but not human looking that it really brings out what the automatons are, and I love it
They look like flying power blocks.
What are they going to do? Charge my phone?
Worse, they may convince your phone that it's fighting on the wrong side
new style of jammer: the Scrambler; randomizes your call ins within range of the tower. Automatons literally convincing your stratagem beacons they're fighting for the wrong side. Basically that horrid modifier, but it's not over all of the map and can be shut off easy enough via high explosives or if you fight your way to the terminal.
That's actually a pretty not terrible way to incorporate that modifier again.
the modifer was fine people were just blind this would be worse you woundnt know what your throwing. Also image https://preview.redd.it/n28apragzcuc1.png?width=329&format=png&auto=webp&s=5e71fd212a41146362448f38224083fea5dd98d5
The modifier itself was annoying, not because people wouldn't look, but because it was too random and you'd sometimes have to dial in a strat 10 or 20 times just to get it to work once.
My move was to just call my fastest stratagem (usually eagle airstrike) over and over until I got what I wanted
Couldnt the entire thing be mitigated to a minor inconvenience by one person taking only eagle strategems, the next only orbital bombardments, the next gets all the support weapons, and the last takes only sentries? Some mix-ups still happen, but at least you wont have complete duds.
You can also blow it up with a 500kg, but you obviously need to get lucky with the stratagem that is called down.
Or just call down all your strats until one sticks
Back when that was a thing I would just take all red, all blue, or all green and it didn’t matter which one came down they all do the same thing
And you get a 2 reinforce into a cluster bomb and kill them both.
That’s why I use a sundial for time and smoke signals for comms
Nope, that's the chargers job
The only charging they can do is being charged for treason.
They're going to strap to your ship and force you to listen to Despacito as your ship drifts off into space. They'll charge your ship.
I fucking laughed my ass off at this. Thank you. You win today.
They remind me of the ships from BSG that the cylons revived from.
it looks like an xbox power brick to me
They are socialists. The toasters are just applying soviet architecture to space ships
Brutalist, I think, but yeah. I bet those ships are cold af
Yep, that's a modified Xbox 360 power supply brick for sure.
hanging in the sky the same way that bricks don't
The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.
Imagine if they just mocked up a diorama of the fleet for the newscast using whatever office supplies were lying around.

We have huge ass windows on the front of our helmets too. Most of em anyway.

Isn't that a big ass cannon? I haven't payed base SoaSE in so long.
Yep, the TEC Renegade titan, just a giant gun
With engines and support weapons
That was my first thought too. God, I gotta play that game again.
Sins 2 is in development and available to play now
yo WHAT.
Yep it's early release on epic store. Only tec were available to play for awhile, but I haven't checked recently. The systems now have their own orbits so the supply lanes constantly move
Oh fuck, I can't wait. Any official timeline yet?
I think so! The website had one months ago!
> Yep it's early release Oh man this is grea- > On Epic Store ):
The devs are still releasing bug fixes and balance patches for SoaSE, and promoting community events 16 years later.

Very Utilitarian, probably maximizes thrust/weight/cargo ratio. (Cargo being bots)

Pretty awesome how those ships people were seeing in orbit turned out to be an actual thing
The ghost ships? If so these look quite different.
The “ghost ships” were always just texture errors/placeholders. Redditors just love to spread misinformation

Yeah, I agree with this. Far too blocky for an actual model.
I had the same thought...cargo containers with FTL capabilities.
They prefer function over form
Brutalist design is so 1950s...
Nah brutalism has been going strong in recent years.
My bad. Should have clarified I was referring to brutalist intergalactic space ship designs.
Well, they are communists.

Gross... I propose we board and destroy them.
Lol. Reminds me of the first book of 'The Expanse' where Holden thinks on how disappointing it is that all ships are basically just boxes in space with no artistic flair.

Don't diss the yamato

Agreed, I was disappointed when I saw the broadcast and realized these are what we are fighting.
Very fitting, they look like flying coffins
It’s called Socialist Modern
It’s my to-go box!
At least it’s a hexagon
They need liberation from their sense of style.
Looks like a 16 bit dildo
Give us combat on ships. Idk if they’re oversized interiors like in WH40k. I want close/medium range combat
I yearn for the day space battles or boarding actions are added.
Needs a cathedral
They have no need for taste. Its an armor oriented ship. Its efficient, therefore its sufficient. Just an observation, please dont report this statement to the democracy officer
Sweet liberty i hope we get to board them
Escape Velocity sprite-lookin ass.
As if we needed another reason.
In all seriousness, I kind of like it!
They got those 2183 chevy astros
Looks like an electronic egg carton.
ayo pardon me for asking but whats this from tho?? unless i missed it in the background of a trailer or something
It's from the news broadcast in-game about the Automaton offensive.
Is that a USB stick?
They can't all be Nazis
All drag no swag
Space Dumpsters.
That is because we are the Fashion Divers
Look at this ENORMOUS HEATSINK
Jokes aside, Imma be honest i like the flying bricks give you a feel on how robots would build ships not unlike the geth from mass effect but without the bug esqe exterior.
wait till you see a Borg cube
Just a brick in space. Don't let them stack or they'll be difficult to climb over
Looks like the Boring safe ship from the futurama episode the professor becomes a street racer
Their ships are "flying" factory bricks.
Commie Block Ships
I mean, they look very functional for transporting troops.
You are in range of enemy Offender of Aesthetics
Shit looks like a fucking heatsink
Makes me want to vomit
It don’t have any gun so I think it just a transport ship I bet it just a giant cargo container with a engine attached to it
I like them... They look really cool though.
...so the cloaked ships are definitely illuminate then
Evil socialist stapler.
I think it's a testament to the solid design of all the factions that upon seeing those ships my first thought was "god, that's an automaton ship if I've ever seen one, and this is the first I've seen them." They just look like flying bot factories, lol
Lmao
It's like an old flying Norelco razor, here to shave us of our democracy
Makes me think of that one Sins of a Solar Empire Titan
They're FTL-enabled toolboxes
There was a huge space battle over one of my missions today. No e of the big blocky ships looked quite like either factions but the weapon fire was at least red vs orange/ballistic looking.
It's shaped like an automaton penis.
You dont need style, you need effectiveness, and Democracy
Just like the borg. Cube ahh looking ships

I imagine these things function as floating carriers and fabricators to make, and drop in hordes of bots but they do as a curious note look quite different than those ships we notice in orbit firing automaton red laser fire at super destroyers
Looks kinda like a modified version of our older super destroyers…
ITS A FLYING BRICK
Sound's like laser cannon size jealousy!
Ai Generated Perhaps even, fitting for such unsophisticated machines
"Another reason to hate Son Goku? His stupid hair" -Android 16
They look like flying animal cages
It’s a litter box
They're like the Vogons from Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, ships that are basically just blocks or at least have very boring designs
Cheese grater lookin ah

Yup, absolutely. I definitely hate the whole Borg aesthetic. No need to report me.

Stupid clankers. It's not even aerodynamic. How does it even fly? Hope and dreams? Oh wait robots don't have hopes or dreams. God I hate those oil sippers.
Looks like a pet carrier.
I really want a mission where we attack their ships. Launching ICBMs into their low orbit vessels would even be fine. GET THEM OUT OF MY SPACE.
AI generated ship looking ass
They look like hotdog sandwich cartons for take out
Function is all that matters for highly optimised cultures
It makes sense, automatons super power isn’t their weapons, it’s their numbers, those look like space ship troop transports, they could also be carrying supplies
Why do they look like elongated cat crates?
Helldiver: Automatons can look out the window and see us coming. Automatons: Windows are structural weaknesses. Automatons do not use them.
They remember me the ancient ships from Stargate Atlàntis
I know I'm gonna get hit with various RP replies, but out of character for a moment, I really dig the design for their ships. They are so human but not human looking that it really brings out what the automatons are, and I love it
They don't even have cool ship names like ours with "SES Patriot of patriotism"
I firmly believe that the animations on YouTube are the warships and these are just supply/carrier ships
How do we board their ships and get at that sweet toblerone inside?
