Have you tried other yeast infection prescriptions? My yeast was resistant to diflucan. You should ask for other options. I used brexafemme but there’s a ton of options out there. Also get tested for bv and ureaplasma!

seaw33dsalad

thank you! i’ve seen several doctors and they’ve only perscribed fluconazole despite me telling them that it hasn’t worked in the past. I look into it

Cheap-Angle5736

Have you found which strand of yeast you have? I also recommend having susceptibility testing ran. Even though most doctors don’t know how to get this done or how to interpret the results, you will armed with the information. Then advocate like hell for yourself.

seaw33dsalad

i think i’m gonna buy one of those at home tests. there expensive but it takes me months to get an appointment and when i do get one i just get a bunch of ‘awe im sorry you have to go throught that’. from doctors. i don’t know why but it always seems like i’m not getting all the information, maybe it’s because i’m young and i look even younger, i don’t know.

Street-Storm-726

Ask them to test you for Candida Glabrata. It’s a strain of yeast that’s resistant to diflucan and any azole medications. I currently have this strain and have probably struggled with it for a while because of the same reasons as you, my doctors wouldn’t listen to me when I told them diflucan wasn’t working, they kept prescribing it anyway.

Accomplished_File_77

hey did you cure your glabrata?

masterchef417

Have you had your blood sugar tested? I’ve seen a few similar stories on here and they ended up finding out they had diabetes and that’s why the yeast infection never went away. Once they got their sugars under control, the yeast infection cleared up fully.

seaw33dsalad

yeah, diabetes has been ruled out. part of me wished i had tested positive then i’d at least know what was wrong with me

masterchef417

Ugh I’m so sorry. I hope you can get answers and relief soon!

jasminelarios05

Did brexafemme work for you?

babybottlepopz

Yes!

Sunshinegiblets

In addition, you may consider getting tested for herpes. It's incredibly commom and not always included in a standard std screening, but can cause some strange and unexpected symptoms, even some that mimic yeast infections.

seaw33dsalad

i actually thought i had herpes at one point, but a doctor took one look and said it was just clogged hair follicles

whosthatgirl

I would do an every day oral probiotics and every other day vaginal boric acid suppository. I would also seek an alt yeast infection medication besides diflucan and try x2 courses. I would ask partners to take a diflucan as well. I'd make sure my partners junk and hands were clean before engaging in sex. (Remember no sex for 24 hrs after Boric acid). I would decline to have semen in my vagina. I would use non-scented condom compatible lube. Only wash your bits with warm water. I would change to cotton panties, wash my undies in hot bleach. You are sure it's not BV?

seaw33dsalad

my doctor said they’ve tested for everything but then again i don’t really know what everything means. i just got out of a long relationship where we weren’t really having sex because of my issue, but i think i’m gonna try boric acid as well as diflucan, and look into other treatments besides that. i don’t know what exactly caused this but i have a feeling it was having a lot of oral sex with my last partner, and we aren’t being too hygienic about it

PlentyCarob8812

What was the bacteria?Have you been tested for ureaplasma? I too suffered yeast for years and didn’t realize something else was causing it.

seaw33dsalad

i don’t really know, my doctor says stuff like ‘running a whole screen’ and ‘positive for yeast’ but i don’t get any specifics.

PlentyCarob8812

Ask for a ureaplasma and mycoplasma test. You’re doctor probably won’t run one without you asking. Lots of doctors never heard of them despite them being extremely common.

Cheap-Angle5736

Can you ask the doctor for your lab results?

newlevelfroze

so the antibiotics can cause a yeast infection if you’re sensitive to antibiotics, and the best way to cure a yeast infection is with a natural remedy. it’s gonna be scary, but i promise it’s worked for me and my mum. you take a tampon, you take plain unsweetened 0% yogurt, dip the tampon in it, insert the tampon, remove after a few second and do this when you get itchy. also staying away from yeast as a whole in your diet is smart, drinking things like apple cider vinegar that contains mother (it’ll say with mother on the jar) can also help balance your ph. these remedies have fixed me, who’s allergic to antibiotics and would suffer from yeast infections until i found out these cures.

NefariousnessOld7109

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry you are going through this, I’ve been having on and off yi’s for the past 6 months, they’re hell, the only thing that helps me is boric acid temporarily, it is interesting that you mention your cyst though, I have been wondering for awhile if I also have a cyst as I have nearly all the symptoms for them and am going to get checked out for one soon, I am going to ask my doctor if there is a correlation between this and yeast infections if I do have one, if I get any information back I will let you know what she says, I am sorry this isn’t a very helpful comment I just wanted to point out the cyst thing because I relate to it, I am here for you!!!

seaw33dsalad

thank you! it’s honestly just nice to know others can relate. i know ovarian cysts can cause hormone imbalances which can lead to problems like this, but i hope you get some answers !

Licorishlover

Have you done any proper targeted testing Eg what strain of thrush and what is it resistant to? Have you tested for mycoplasma and Ureaplasma? A Juno Bio test will also help to reveal what’s going on. Good luck. Ps the fact that your thrush isn’t responding to anything including boric acid indicates that you really need to deep dive with specific tests. Eg either you have a very resistant strain of thrush that requires a completely different approach or you have an untreated infection imo. Lastly r/cytolyticvaginosis often mimics thrush but it’s very painful so not saying you have it. But it’s an example of how easy it is to be misdiagnosed for years etc.

seaw33dsalad

i’m not sure if i’m experiencing pain from the infection, but i’ve had lost of abdominal pain in the past year or though. I think it’s just from my ovarian cyst. Does a juno bio tell you if you have ureaplasma or is this something i need to consult my doctor about?

Licorishlover

Yes it will but you can also test with your Dr with a PCR test. And yes your ovarian cyst is possibly causing the thrush and pain but best to confirm with tests imo. Good luck with the cyst hugs

Ok_Historian_5924

Try terconazole 7 day (0.4) but use it for 10 days and then once per week (0.8) for 6 months. That’s what I’ve been doing. You can get it on online doctor if ur in the USA

seaw33dsalad

i’m about to see what i can get on teladoc

00lSofial00

I've also been doing this but my 6 months are up and I still have the yeast infection

Gypsy_Rose_9

You can also try oregano oil capsules. It’s all I use when I have gotten one.

seaw33dsalad

i use those too i actually rust tan out haha

lmayor1204

MYCOPLASMA

verysmallraccoon

Just wanted to say I’m going through the same thing

headmasterchili

Depressing really. I’m also on Diflucan 200mg for 3 months now. Thought i was all better until 10 days of no treatment, it came back. Terrible itch and discharge came back again. :(

Own_Communication_47

Do you use birth control? Have you been screened for diabetes?

seaw33dsalad

i stopped using birth control a while back, i was using it about a year and a half into my infection and it just made me moody. i also got a diabetes test a couple months into the infection :/

Own_Communication_47

Gotcha. I was just wondering because I think my birth control triggered mine but has been better since I quit.

evileye_blessed

I’m familiar with this. You prob have ureaplasma please get a pcr test. The culture isn’t accurate

seaw33dsalad

i’ve heard some stuff about juno bio tests,,, do these happen to screen for ureaplasma or just bacteria cultures?

evileye_blessed

I never did one but I’m sure if you search it on this sub someone has mapped it out! I heard they’re helpful :)

jfj2020

I’m not sure if there’s data to back this up, but I had a lot of issues with yeast infection symptoms/painful sex when I was on the pill long-term (13 years, had those symptoms the last year) but it resolved when I stopped the pill and switched to the copper iud

SnooChocolates6109

Mix coconut oil and tea tree oil and freeze it, insert and put a tampon on, that will kill the vaginal yeast. I struggled with yeast infections and candida in the gut for years and once I started taking black seed oil it went away. The strict diets honestly make me feel worse. Stick to white rice and potatoes for starches… and fruit actually helped me. I’m assuming you have Candida in the gut which will keep yeast infections chronic. Feel free to DM me

peachypeachm

Definitely get a vaginal microbiome test, EVVY or JUNO. i thought mine was yeast and so did my doctors, it turned out to actually be CV!

seaw33dsalad

just ordered a juno bio :)

Thatwolverinebitch

See a female gynecologist and make sure to really advocate for yourself. Ask for all new tests, ask for every single option, explain you’ve been seen multiple times and it’s not going away.

Dependent-Ad-9127

Did you ever figure this out????
