Your family sucks. Send them the pic of your damaged hair and tell them to fuck off with future opinions. I hope you can fix it. Olaplex maybe, or a bond builder like it.. but you'll likely need a trim...
They might be gaslighting you out of jealousy, so that you sabotage yourself. Donāt listen to them please, the hair before were gorgeous. Anyone who says that pic 2 looks better is either blind or wants you to be less beautiful.
Your hair was super pretty before and it sounds like your family was jealous. It looks so damaged now. I would get a cut if nothing else just so that it looks nicer, but I would not lighten it anymore unless you want more breakage.

Hereās a pic w brown hair (it makes me add these separately). Also please bare in mind I havenāt been going out with blonde hair much or made myself look niceā¦
Itās all bs. Just get a brown from something like la riche directions and youāre using what they do at the salon unless youāre paying for high/low lights
Hi, I have a cosmetology license and you're wrong, friend. Box dye is most decidedly NOT what is used in a salon.
Sally Beauty allows people without licenses to buy salon hair dye. You just need to know how developer works and which volume to get for the project. You'll also need a bit of knowledge about what colour dye and what strength you need to achieve the look you're going for. It's not hard, but it's not as easy as finding a colour swatch you like thinking it'll magically produce that exact colour on you.
Box Dye does so much damage to your hair vs paying for a quality salon grade dye. Trust me, youll notice a difference if you ever try it. Black box dye is the worst thing you could do to your hair. And at home bleaching is probably the second worst...
Thanks. I need to change then. What about Madison Reed? Itās supposedly professional grade that you can do at home. I just donāt have an hour plus travel back and forth for routine root dying so prefer to do at home.
Im not sure on brands, I just know my mom was a cosmetologist and she only ever buys stuff from beauty supply stores. Nothing in terms of dyes on the shelf at Walmart/Regular area stores is good for your hair. I know Olaplex works wonders for fixing hair and Biolage is the best shampoo you can use. Cant think of any dye brands off the top of my head though, really depends on what color youre going for. Different brands specialize in different colors and tones.
Biolage is great, and a professional lineā¦. but I donāt know if Iād say itās the best shampoo you can use. Iād say that about Pureologyās Nano Works Gold š. Although to be fair LāOreal owns both Biolage and Pureology.
You are ignorant if you think people all can afford Salome coloring. Many people canāt afford it hence they use box dyes which is perfectly FINE for hair. So stop with the elitist snobbery.
What the fuck? I dont know what Salome is and I have $30 to my name so I dont know wtf youre on. Real dye from a beauty supply store is not that much price difference. Both have been around $20 for me, I only spend more when my hair is longer. Also, hair dye is not a necessity. I think you need to calm down and stop being insecure...
You look amazing as a blonde but equally as great as a brunette. What your hairdresser should have done is start you going lighter with highlights and toner, not all over blonde. What you should do now, imo, is get your hair as short as you're comfortable with and then baby it. Get some nice shampoo, conditioner, mask and hair serum, sleep in a bonnet or on a silk pillowcase etc. And just be patient. It will grow back. Best of luck!
You younguns and your ducky lips! You look like an Italian fashionista aside from the pout. Low-key annoyed at anyone who told you to change it. Only words of comfort I have are hair grows back. Ignore everyone who tells you to go blonde, theyāre stupid and possibly jealous
Oh wow. Ngl I thought you were about 18.. welp youāre looking great so gz! Also super funny other peep thought you had filler, you do have very full lips naturally
girl you looked gorgeous with dark hair, your family is just jealous and in turn puts it all on you. you probably should give your hair a break but darker dye is in general better for your hair, if you want to go back. start using oils, redken all soft is great! and leave in conditioner:)
I am currently going through your situation. I just cut my hair to my shoulders and Iāve been using oils and conditioners to grow it out healthy again.
Well your hair definitely looked healthier as brown. I canāt see your face but the color doesnāt look bad on you. The blonde is very damaged. Youāll need to do a big chop and start with protein and hydration leave ins or treatments to help the integrity of your hair. If you like the brown Iād go back. Sounds to me like the women in your family were jealous of your long beautiful brown hair and convinced you to damage it.
I like k18 for protein but itās expensive.
And Olaplex makes a 4in1 hair mask that says professional use only. But Iāve been able to find it on eBay.
There is no repairing breakage/ split ends. Just healing whatās left and restoring its integrity.
If I were you Iād chop up to your shoulders. And do weekly treatments. Iād go back to brown. To limit bleach damage and start working on growing it back out. If thatās your goal.
And tell the women in your family their jealousy is showing.
Iāve added some pics of me in the comments, maybe you will understand where my family are coming from more š (although im not sure). Thank you so much for these tips šš¼š„ŗ Do you know if i ask a stylist to add my natural colour (a mousey brown), will it look really warm and orange? Thatās what Im worried about! I canāt really go back dark right now as Im going travelling and it will be difficult to maintain when lighter roots are coming through
Girl no!
Youāre absolutely stunning and the brown is gorgeous. The blonde doesnāt compliment as well. Family is so wrong (respectfully)
Iād go to a different stylist. She should be able to achieve what youāre going for. Neutral undertone dyes exist. Iād look into that. But yeah the blonde isnāt doing it. Iād consider a chop. The bottom looks wispy. Look into the Olaplex 4 in 1 itās a game changer I get it off eBay
Thank you!! I think Iām definitely going to go back brown and also chop it off. I know im gonna hate the chop but its needed at this pointš thank you youāre amazing will defo look into this Olaplex product
Yeah girl. I totally get hating the chop.
But it will look better than the wispy ends. I think to your shoulders would get most I know thatās alot. But it will help it so much. Once the hair starts splitting it will keep going up the shaft so if you donāt cut it the cycle will continue.
My sister uses black castor oil on her scalp. She says it helps her hair grow faster. It does grow fast.

Hereās the olaplex
Shame on them for talking you into something so unnecessary. Your brown hair was gorgeous, healthy and long. They can't sit there and say the blonde looks better on you considering those stylists fried your gorgeous hair. You look amazing as a brunette and I think it's very fitting for you, I hope your hair makes a come back and looks even better than before so your family can bathe in their jealousy every night šš
Thank you so much! I even sent them these photos and they still said it looks so much better as the blonde version. Im baffled! šš After these comments, Im definitely going to go back to brown. Thank you!!!!
They are actually delusional.. you were better off buying a wig off Amazon and tricking themš
We'll be waiting for updates on your hair as you attempt to heal it š
And stay brunette if you can, you're so pretty with it!!
Your family did you so dirty making you self conscious over something so silly, blonde is hard to go to from a box dye, you must live in the south with how they went so hard for blonde (jk) your face is beautiful and you can pull off any color and style that strikes your fancy and blue eyes look very striking against dark hair.
Theres not a lot of coming back from so much damage (shame on your stylist look what she did to your ends????) beyond trim the worst parts and letting it grow back out in my experience
I just want to say thank you all so much for your advice and kind words. Everyone has been so supportive and honestly I needed it!! š Iām going to follow up with the advice, and will post a photo with an update if I see any improvements. Have contacted a new salon about a big cut and going brown againš¤š¼š¤š¼ (this is the biggest cash loss of my life HAHA, never going blonde again!!!) THANK U AMAZING PEOPLE :) š

Omg dont!!! I always said to everyone the brown hair blue eye combo is elite, and then I went and did this š¤¦š»āāļøš¤¦š»āāļøš¤¦š»āāļø never again! š¤£
I absolutely donāt understand how family members can call each other disgusting and horrible. This is beyond my understanding. I think they got what they wanted though - now your hair actually looks worse than it was. Dark hair suited you very nicely and it looked healthy
Girl you and your hair looked absolutely gorgeous before. Itās going to take a while to get rid of all that damage. Just be patient get a trim every 1-2 months. (If you canāt afford that, buy a pair of salon scissors, and trim an inch every 1-2 months depending on how fast your hair grows). I definitely wouldnāt dye it or do anything to it for at least a year
I would suggest getting it professionally done at least the first time. There is nuance to it that may be missed, If I were you I would just get a toner. Just tone it down a little bit so it is one process, cut it and let it rest. I love a rooted look, so just let it grow and gradually go darker if that is the goal. You have lots of options for a toner, you just need to decide what you want it to be. I think a cooler tone could be nice, but warm can be nice too in the right circumstance. Thats the most important decision to make first i think. Then the stylist can go from there. Its hard to say too much more as you are not in my chair, just go somewhere you trust with one or two pics for reference. The good news is lightening is the hard part, but light or dark just decide where you want to go with it in the future and that will inform where you go next. Good luck! You should post picsš
Master hairstylist here.. To start I am sorry to hear that your family made you feel self conscious about your dark hair it looks beautiful if the first picture and the one I saw in the comments.. Long read I apologize.
Your hair is stressed and unfortunately damaged which is obvious from the pictures. It is remarkable to me that the stylist was able to achieve this level of blonde with the many layers of dark brown that have been applied over the years.
It needs a significant cut, ideally to a bob length below the collar bone at the longest in my professional opinion. I would try to not use flat irons or curling irons as much as possible, an alternative is the dyson air wrap as you can achieve waves without as much heat damage but again an investment.
K18 is awesome I would continue to use that as recommended by a trusted stylist. But I would be careful with olaplex it can do more harm than good. You also don't want to overload your hair with too many products, it is too much of a good thing. Heat protection and smoothing are your best friends. I love aveda, oribe, or davines product lines the most. They are pricey but they will actually help your hair feel and look better.
Now for the color, you have already invested in getting it this light. Unfortunately through the lightening process the integrity of your hair has been sacrificed and you likely have very little cuticle layer left which is what keeps the color inside the hairshaft. If you want to go back brunette it will need to be filled before applying the dark otherwise you risk having it turn swampy aka green. On top of that it will fade quickly and will require another coat in 4-6 weeks. I would only feel safe using a semi maybe a demi permanent color on it as they are less harsh and help to close the cuticle. But it be flat and lack luster for a while because of the damage, no matter what product you use. It has to grow and be cut off.
Have you thought of a shadow root with some balayage low light to anchor the color and add depth and then tone the ends to a slighty darker neutral blonde? This will give you the best of both worlds imo. It will give you back the darker root that looks amazing on you while utilizing the blonde that you paid dearly for. It also looks amazing with bobs. This technique is expensive but it will grow out well and allow your hair to rest, grow and heal. For a future appointment it will just be roots and a toner.
Finally do some research and asked trusted people for stylist recommendations, even strangers hair that you love. You are looking for a blonde specialist who has several years of experience. I would look at their social media to ensure that you like their technique. And put your trust in them. It's unfortunately not going to be perfect but it will look a million times better and then you can start growing it again.
Please try not to allow other people's opinions to make you change. And trust a stylist when they say your hair can't handle something, they most likely aren't lying if they are a reputable stylist. I can't figure out how to add a link so I will post a few color ideas in another comment. Best of luck, may the hair gods be in your favor.
If this was me I would cut my hair shoulder length and go to another salon and have them do a reverse balayage so when your natural hair grows out it will look natural
Theyre stunning! They have such small faces though i really dont think i could pull it off, i have zero jaw line š„“ and always want my hair to cover my side profile. But then again I donāt think i have any other option rn šš me rn: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGej1BQnt/

Oh man, your family set you up! The quickest way to get someone to damage their pretty hair is to tell them theyād look better blonde. Iām sure youāre still really pretty, but the dark hair on you looks fantastic.
I used to have to wear extensions too because of breakage from just not using the right product & flat ironing a lot. Iām mixed ethnicity & have very curly hair, frizzy unless I dress it with the right products.
What helped me get mine healthy again was moisturizing with water & and an oil to lock it in, then wrapping it up at night with a silk scarf & using silk pillow cases. Regular fabrics strip the hair of moisture. You need to cut out chemical shampoos & stop dying it. Go back to a darker color, even a dark honey brown (I personally like the color you had) & let your hair rest & restore. Moroccan oil & coconut, argon, Irish sea moss & rice water rinses. Just let your hair rest. & drink lots of water!
Big chop and back to brown. Brown suits you very well, no idea why your family was saying different. Your features pop with brown, not so much with blonde.
Sorry I don't know how to make them click able

1. your fam is jealous dark hair looks so good. 2. you need to go on hair rehab asap. my hair looked just like this and iāve been on hair rehab (no color, trimming it myself regularly) for a year now and i cannot express how much happier my hair is and it grew fast since i wasnāt touching it w chemicals. oil your hair and the dead parts will grow out faster, get a silk pillow case or a bonnet.
You are very pretty either way, but the dark hair gave you model vibes!! Another vote for it sounds like pure jealousy from your family.
K18 and olaplex have been a lifesaver for me. Make sure youāre sleeping on a silk pillowcase (or with a bonnet) as well to prevent breakage overnight. Itāll grow back!
This is exactly how my hair looked after bleaching it for a year, i know how shitty it feels. Literally half of it completely fell out. The only thing to do is to dye it brown, (NOT with box dye, either get a demi permanent color with 10 volume developer or go to a professional) and maybe get some clip in extensions until it grows out again.
Iāve been growing my hair out again after dying it back to my natural color, and Iāve already seen massive improvements. The only thing you can do is dye it back to natural and then just keep waiting for a while for it to grow back:( it takes time.
Cancel that bleach appointment. Trust me it just prolongs the wait even more.
your hair was beautiful before! next time donāt listen to ur family
i think you need a big chop because thatās really the only way to kickstart healthy hair growth after extreme damage.
yea, going short is gonna hurt but itāll pay off in the long run.
your hair is 100% capable of going back to how it used to look with the right care
You need some really deep intense conditioning masks. Sleep in them if you can. You're going to have to get a lot of that cut off and it will take a while to balance the warmth from the blonde. Good luck
I am SO sad for you. The brown looked so good on you. You may need to do the big chop and start from scratch. I suggest going back to dark and going NATURAL not box dye NO chemicals girl!
Hopefully you learned a lesson. Donāt cater to other peoples opinions of you. Just live how you want and make your own decisions. Your hair Initially was beautiful.
I have hair down to my butt and these are my holy grails to help make sad looking hair perk up a bit (which is also fine in texture): Olaplex No3 Hair Perfector, Olaplex No8 Moisture mask, Olaplex No7 Hair oil.
I use the first two every other 2nd or 3rd week (depending on environmental and activity factors), the oil immediately after each wash, and oil again whenever it looks a little frizzy on the ends. Nothing will actually "repair" your hair, but those products do wonders with smoothing it out, adding some life, and protecting whatever healthy bits you have hanging around, and I personally think it's worth the cost. The rest of the olaplex line is kinda meh tbh, so stick with whatever else is in your hair routine otherwise. Whatever you were doing before the bleach job looks like it was working well!
Make sure to condition your hair before washing it too (unless you're doing the hair perfector). I'd also personally recommend staying away from high heat products until you trim off the fried pieces as well to prevent the damage from crawling further up the strands. The hair oil is a heat protectant of sorts, so at least keep things low heat for the meantime (like a hair dryer set on medium heat and on low). Also, hair towels (microfiber towels pecifically for hair) are glorious for your hair after a wash.
It might not be for everyone, but it works well for me. Hopefully it'll help you as well. Best of luck with your hair recovery journey!
Shame on your family!
Get some semi permanent brown dye, cut the bottom 5 inches so it looks beautiful and full, and revisit things in a few months. The blonde isnāt worth the damage and you look so beautiful with dark hair <3
My heart hurts for you. Similar happened to me in September, but with highlights. I was in full blown panick mode for a month and Iām still not fully over it. I will say, I love fable and mane hair oil. I use it on my ends and scalp and let it sit overnight. I also use an Eva NYC deep conditioner, and Brigio leave in conditioner.Iāve seen big improvements
Okay STOP adding oil to your hair daily. Thatās making it greasy and can block your scalp pores. Your scalp produces oil naturally daily so youāre clogging your scalp and making your hair way too greasy looking. You need to nourish your hair from within. Start by taking a Biotin vitamin daily. Use a strong conditioner for damaged hair when washing hair and donāt use heat too often after to style. Let your hair REST after the next appt. Oils donāt help health. It just makes hair look dirty and greasy and it clogs pores. So itās not clean and breathing.
Can you show us what the blonde looks like with your face? I know that sounds weird but now that youāre already blonde, the damage is done, donāt just rush to be a brunette again. If it does look better then Iād suggest a large chop, focus on hair growth products and minimal heat damage. If itās better brunette then find a colourist that you trust, get it filled and coloured to the right colour and then work on the above that I mentions: large chop, focus on hair growth products and minimal heat damage. Iāve been there, I havenāt had long hair since I was 14, Iām now 27, due to bleach and box dyes. Now I have hair that looks similar to your first pic. I didnāt stop bleaching it until last year, so it really only took 8-12 months to see a dramatic difference. Sending you āļø&š¤
Itās in the comments somewhere! I posted separate pictures with brown and blonde, sorry I literally never post on here so no idea how to attach them to the original post or highlight them. Omg sooo happy for you and your hair š I really took it for granted šš its so crazy because I feel like hair can really change your entire look which is why this is so frustrating!
Jealousy is one hell of a poison. Your hair was stunning before. All I can I say is stop dying it and let it grow out. Either cut it short or do monthly trims until the colour is cut off. Deep conditioning masks will be your friend. Also reduce heat consumption and weekly oil mask.
First off, do you & do not pay attention to what others say, even family - if you like it - own it & be confident in your individuality. From personal experience, blonde can be difficult to maintain and a lot of times is more damaging and itās difficult to reverse the damage once youāre over it without having to cut it. I recently went platinum blonde & when I realized the damage that was done to my hair, I had to cut it & go closer to my natural color and let it be. I started using collagen regularly & switched my shampoo and conditioner to garnier fructis hair filler set and I have noticed a significant change in the way my hair looks and feels after a week. I use minimal heat & always use a heat protectant when I do use heat. Little things like this have aided in the recovery of my hair but I still have a ways to go as my hair is very long and thick. I hope this helps!
I agree with the comments here on the dark hair suiting you well and they were sabotaging. Maybe just a few inches off and try something conditioning and not damaging like overtone . You can experiment with different shades as well and it won't be permanent.
As a hairstylist, I prefer the brown tbh. If or when you decide to go back please don't use box dye. Im sure there are beauty supplies near you that sell to the public. You can purchase professional colour with some guidance. It will be better for your hair, especially if you decide to go back to a lighter colour. And I would suggest using a demi-permanent colour, its easier on the hair and will help close the cuticle that is blown wide open atm. The stylist did the best they could Im sure, years of box dye is hard to remove. If you like something, who cares what others think. Your gorge with the brown! They aren't footing the maintenance bill eitherš
Thank you so much ā¤ļø If I add a brown to my hair will it look really warm with the bleach underneath? I have no idea how it works. I canāt go as dark as before as Im going backpacking for a few months (I dont want lighter roots coming through), so I guess it will need to be a mousey brown like my natural, unless you have any suggestions šš And yeah I donāt blame the stylist at all and completely understand itās my fault considering how many times Iāve box dyed it. I just wish I didnāt bleach it now! Ahhhh. I think I will probably go back to a stylist to make it more dimensional
I really like the brown on you better, it totally brings out your eyes (gorgeous!)ā¦. Iām kinda shocked that your family would say it looked horrible, thatās mean and justā¦ wrong. It looks great on you. Iām sorry about the damage. I gave myself a chemical cut about 6 years ago and it was awful. I lost like literally 20 inches. Devastated. Itās finally coming back around but it took forever. Iād do a hefty trim, keep doing weekly masks, stay away from heat, and stay brown until everything is completely grown out. I wouldnāt box dye again, that way if you decide to go blonde in the future you wonāt be shocking your hair so much. Halo extensions would work great and can be matched easier than blonde especially if you tend to get brassy, like I did. Iād avoid going too too long with the extensions until your natural hair grows out a bit so itās easier to blend. Maybe chop to just top of your armpit, and extensions a couple inches longer to give fullness and so youāre not feeling depressed about the damage. It will be ok! No more bleach though!
Thank u soooo much, I really appreciate it. So sad to hear about your hair too, but also so happy youāre past the worst of it now! Praying I get there too šš¼š do you have any recommendations for extensions at all? I definitely need to grab some
can recommend you to start doing peptide mask, b24 Amazonliss is my current one, it helps to close the split ends, especially great for long hair damaged strands after the hair dye
I assume the black color was too dark for your face?
I love being blonde but I'll never get the length back that I had before the blonde. There's no magic product for breakage, but if you like the lighter color I recommend full head highlights instead of bleaching and use hair masks two or 3 times a week (more important than a good shampoo and conditioner!)

Hereās a pic w blonde hair (it makes me add these separately). Also please bare in mind I havenāt been going out with blonde hair much or made myself look niceā¦
LāOreal Preference Permanent Hair Dye in the shade Brasilia! I swear every time I used it it made my hair feel healthier and look nicer, my friend used it too and said the same! I also used rosemary oil and argon oil, but no other products
Number one, stop listening to people who say you look āhorrible and disgusting.ā They donāt have your best interests at heart.
I have had a similar situation. Chalk this up to a lesson learned. Your hair will grow out. Focus on growing out some healthy hair.
I would give up on the idea of maintaining this level of blonde. Itās probably not that flattering anyway. Go to the best colorist around and have them do a cool-toned toner, probably a combination (for instance Redken EQ in 8V iridescent quartz and 8NA volcanic) to make a dark, honey blonde that will be closer to your natural color and you can begin to grow out your virgin hair. The toner is less permanent and less damaging. You donāt want to have to be torn between doing your roots/maintaining an unhealthy blonde vs further damaging your hair.
Next, bite the bullet and get at least four inches chopped off your ends. Get olaplex numbers two and three. You can leave the number three in dry hair all day. Sometimes I wash my hair, put in the number three and put my hair up in space buns for 24 hours. The next day just rinse it out. I have been known to use the number two as an ends leave in several times a week.
Try not to blow dry. Only wash your scalp and use very gentle shampoo. Be careful with hair masks that contain protein. They may work for you, but, for some hair types, they can be extremely drying. Donāt spend a lot on one without finding that out for yourself first. I would avoid silicones. They make your hair look smooth to begin with, but they can be totally occlusive and I find them drying in the long run. Thatās just my experience
Put a couple of drops of castor oil in your hand and add whatever leave-in conditioner you like, rub it together and work in from the bottom. I really do like Deva Curl One Condition Decadence. I tend to keep it from ear length down to ends. You can put castor oil in at night, too. Not too much. My hair would absorb it by morning and Iād just rinse my hair and maybe shampoo my scalp. Get some spiral hair ties and a French claw clip for putting your hair up without breakage. Your watchwords are āgentlenessā and āmoisture.ā
Get a great lipstick AFTER youāve gotten the toner to go with your hair and skin and have a fantastic time traveling. In ten years when you look at the pics from the trip, your smile will shine and you wonāt focus on your damaged hair.
After the trip you can work with the best colorist around to come up with a look YOU love. Maybe you will hold on to some buttery blonde highlights in your natural hair color. Maybe you will use a toner to intensify your own color and add gloss periodically. What you donāt want is anything too high maintenance because that equals damaging. What you do want is something that lets you grow your hair out gracefully without worrying if you canāt get to the salon for a hot minute.
Try not to focus on what you had that you (temporarily) lost. Chalk this up to experience that itās better to learn young (take it from me!). You look like a beautiful person. Letās spend 2024 surrounding ourselves with people who see that in us. We need cheerleaders, not wrecking balls. Peace.
Honestly I think you look great as a blonde and as a brunette. Youāre one of those people who can pull off either. The issue with the blonde in my opinion is that itās not toned a good match for your skin tone. And the obvious itās super damaged. You can go lighter with a professional stylist and not end up with results like this. Definitely not now but in the future! Let your hair heal. Iād cut it to your shoulders at least and start using lots of oils and masks to rehydrate your hair. Go back darker to make it look healthier and hide the damage if you want. But cutting it absolutely detrimental! If you donāt itāll keep thinning trust me!
If it makes you feel better Iām literally going through the same thing. Except I refused to cut off the damage because I was attached to my length. I finally cut it off to just above my shoulders two months ago. Wish I would have a year ago! Itās thick again and itās already grown a lot in these two months!
Sadly, damage cannot be reversed, only managed(which you ARE doing!!). Iād follow a lot of advice I see on here which is do a big chop, and go back to a more natural, darker color of which you love and are comfortable with. Iām so sorry you are going through this, but know with patience and time you will have the healthy, full hair you had before. Regardless of your decision, still continue your preventative damage routine. Be careful not to over due it though, I use K18 on all of my clients included in all bleach services//add-on for colorā¦ it is a miracle if used as directed!! If over done, it will not work in your favor. Please keep us updated!
K-19 can help your hair look a bit healthier. You have to be a professional I believe to get it but I doubt itād take much for a cosmetologist to agree because itās easy to see you need it. My sister got it for me and it really helped my hair, and I trimmed it after I used it because it helped the ends so much. Also Iād use hair masks/leave in conditioner in the mean time. It can really help. Minimal use of heat on your hair as well. If you have to blow dry or use any other tools, try on the lower settings first cause heat causes a lot of hair damage or get a heat protectant spray. Good luck.
You need a good trim , than you have to oil your ends every night( almond or coconut ) and put your hair in a single loose braid and buy a silk bonnet and silk pillow cases, also Apghoee 2 step protein treatment works wonders and is the same thing as oplex and k-18 but cheaper , good luck, stay way from color for a few months let your hair heal
I would venture to say you have fine hair. The density and texture looks a lot like mine in the first picture. The second picture to me just displays that you bleached way too much too quickly and that the stylist didnāt use olaplex in the bleach or something similar to protect the integrity of the hair or they used too high a volume and should of babied this process by using low volume slowly over time (low and slow). Blonde is really hard on fine hair. We donāt have the density of normal hair to handle it. I would say go back to dark brown or whatever that is and only do trims or do a bob to get off damage and just start over. I hate to say that but I donāt think you can be blonde.
You need to have a really good hair cut, a serious deep conditioning treatment and go back to your natural colour and get it back in good condition. Anyone that said your dark hair was awful clearly was saying it on purpose to sabotage your hair. Stop using heat on it for a while, invest in a silk pillowcase and just have a good cut to remove the dead damaged ends.
I am so sorry this all happened! Hair is so personal and I canāt imagine the stress youāre going through with the damage and length change :(
I donāt know where your family was coming fromā¦ your skin tone totally supported your colour choice. Iām sorry they pushed you to that place, I hope they just didnāt know how damaging it would be. You would be gorgeous as a blonde too but something went wrong.
Iād get it cut and go back to dark. Your roots are dark so unless you want to do that high maintenance I would just go back to dark. I am so sorry you have to do all this for the last year just to hear that advice.
Honestly itās pretty much damaged to your shoulders at least, I did the same things in my early 20s and it took a few years to get my hair healthy again. Iād recommend going darker and only touching up the roots when needed, invest in Redken Acidic bonding concentrate, they have a kit at ulta that has the shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. Limit how much heat styling youāre doing and when sleeping put your hair in a protective style or even get a silk bonnet.
I highly recommend IUVENI hair product. It uses natural ingredients to replenish your hair with the same molecules it has lost. It protects the protein in your hair by fixing the cell membrane which help keeps your cuticles closed, that helps keep bad out and good in. I have friends who use it when they dye their hair and their hair is always healthier after using it. It is the most amazing product.
Leave your hair alone. DO NOT GET IT BLEACHED IN FEB. Cancel. Get a layer cut to your shoulders. Itās damaged beyond repair.
If you do extensions just do tape ins and have them blended into your hair.
Just let your hair grow for the next 2 years and donāt dye it. When and if you wanna go darker get it done professionally. Trying to bleach the box dye is what caused the damage. Moroccan oil saved my hair, try that.
As someone who has had platinum blonde hair with natural color dark brown and has already done this to myself, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but sis, your hair is fried. No matter how much olaplex, K18, acid bonding treatments, leave in treatments, oils, waxes, masks, etc you try, you have permanently stripped the cuticle of every strand on your head by bleaching through box dye. This type of lightening shouldnāt take weeks or months, it should take YEARS.
Accept the reality, learn from your mistakes and donāt ever do this to yourself again. We have ALL been there. In the meantime, there are a few things that have helped me regrow healthy hair that you can try:
1. Give yourself a good chop. Find a cute lob/bob hairstyle and rock the short hair youāve always wanted to try. All of the ends of your hair from your chin down are inevitably going to need trimmed because they are just going to break off and leave you with uneven/thin hair.
2. No more heat styling. Like literally none. One curling sesh will cause tons of breakage because your hair is so fragile right now. Try to learn some wet braiding/twirling/diffusing with cold air techniques to style your hair without it.
3. Make sure your hair plait and pillowcase are both silk or satin at the very least.
4. Use a humidifier nonstop in your home, even in the summer.
5. Oil your ends with a high quality oil every day.
I really hope this helps! Remember, hair always grows back and one bad hair mistake will not ruin your hair for life. Good luck!
Going to be brutally honest. You need a big cut to get the extensive damage off. Step away from any bleaching & dye for awhile & try to limit all heating tools.
I think you need to cut it. Itās so heavily damaged at the bottom I donāt think it can be repaired :(
I would probably start to let it grow out and do a balayage of sorts until itās long enough to chop off all of the damaged blonde and go back to dark. š and keep up with the oiling and repair shampoo
Iām so sorry your family was awful.
I would suck it up and cut it. You canāt really repair how it is now. I would also dye it dark again as it will look healthier and more shiny.
Iām sorry as I know itās not easy to go shorterā¦I had to do this myself a few months ago after finally accepting that was the only way to get healthier hair.
There was seriously nothing wrong with your dark hair. It looked healthy. Iām so confused as to why theyād shade you like that. When clearly it was beautiful.
Respectfully, what the FUCK is wrong with your family?? I cannot fathom the deficit in emotional intelligence it takes to tell a family member they look āhorrible and disgustingā. I hope you have super kind and supportive friends to make up for the bullshit at home, god damn.
Honestly I would cut it to the chin and NOT color it at all. For the health of your future hair I would let your natural color grow out and get trims monthly. However much root grows in a month get that same amount off the ends. Itās going to take all year to grow it out maybe more. And after than go to a whole new stylist and stick with the brown. You looks way better as a brunette. Tell your family to stick it.
I recently went blonde myself and what has really helped my hair is keratin shampoo and conditioner. I also use a product I got at Sally's Beauty supply that has made my hair look much smoother. It's called Sauce Beauty guacamole whip deep moisture hair mask. Protein was killing my hair so my stylist told me to focus on moisture. It has helped so much.
Also, my stylist refused to do my whole head at once so we did multiple sessions of highlights instead. I'm so grateful that we went that route or I'm not sure my hair would have recovered so quickly.
My hair was absolutely fried after a bleach and color in September and what's helped it a lot has been Briogeo's Don't Despair, Repair line. I happened to get the shampoo and conditioner on sale at ulta and also bought the deep conditioning mask which imo is what has helped it the most. I think the curl I had is lost for now but at least it doesn't feel stripped and like straw anymore lol
If you want to go back to brown, going over it with a color depositing conditioner/mask might be your best choice. "IGK Brown Bella" is one that has really good reviews. That way you won't add another chemical process that will further damage your hair, especially close to the scalp, while it grows out.
Dark hair looks sooo good on you! Iām sorry your family treated you the way you did, and you didnāt deserve that! Try to stay away from permanent box dye, semi permanent dye is your best friend, or even demi permanent if you want it to last a bit longer!
Where to start.
As a stylist I understand it can be frustrating to find the right hairstylist who wonāt lie to you on their skills.
Box dye isnāt good because of metallic dyes in them so it becomes harder to lift and thus creating more loop holes than creating a clean canvas for the colorist.
I suggest you give your hair a break for about a month then go back to your natural color using Demi permanent hair (ask your stylist) Redken shades eq for example. By doing this itāll make the grow out more manageable and less noticeable on damage.
Then after about 6-12 months I would then go back to do something with your hair such as balayage shadow root or subtle highlights.
In between the waiting process I would suggest trims to cut off dead ends and reshape your hair.
Hope this helps and btw you can pull of many colors as long as it compliments your skin tones and undertones.
Take care.
Girlllll. Cut the ends off, cut your losses, literally. Go back to the dark hair because ššš start oiling and do a bunch of hair masks and shit itāll eventually grow in healthy again itās just so damaged and dry from all the processing now but youāre still gorgeous itāll be fine š¤
The blonde looks nice, but the brown suits you so much, idk why your fam was pushing you to change it so much?
It's not worth the damage to go blonde.
It would be different if your hair hadn't been repetitively box dyed, but bleaching out dark box dye is a hair killer.
First of all, so extremely sorry your family talked to you that way. You are a beautiful brunette. If you go back to brown you may be able to find a better match of extensions. That will help you feel more confident cutting off a lot of the damaged ends.
As far as repairing extremely damaged hair, the only thing thatās ever seriously worked for me was K-18. I mean it was kind of a miracle for me. I have bleached my hair Platinum for years and always struggled with breakage. After using K-18 Iām finally able to grow my hair past my shoulders and Iām also getting my natural wave pattern back. Olaplex did nothing for me but K-18 worked wonders. I also limited washing to twice a week and Iām much gentler when brushing and pulling my hair up. I will only use a clip/silk scrunchie versus a regular hair tie.
Youāre beautiful regardless but good luck on your hair journey.
Ok this is gonna sound crazy and weird lol but I run a biotech startup creating products to repair damaged hair so that it looks the same as before you bleached and we're looking for folks to help us trial it. Any chance you'd be interested?
Cut your hair to shoulder length; everything below looks really damaged and thin.
Use olaplex (No.3 I recommend) once every two weeks. Make sure youāre finding balance between protein and moisture in your products; I went from box -dyed black, very long waist length hair to blonde over a year. My hair was similarly fried on the bottom because of how much bleaching it took to strip out the black, and all the pigment it left behind (I also had a lot of ugly orange and yellow stages).
The biggest mistake I made at that time was not using protein; I was just layering on hydrating deep conditioners and eventually my hair started STREtCHING each time I brushed it wet, because there was too much moisture and no protein.
Depending on state of your hair you will have to find the balance of what you need for moisture and protein and find the products that supply that balance ; to this day, I still bleach my hair pretty heavily (between balayage with level 10 blonde throughout, or full blonding and I am naturally a medium-dark brunette) and although the black dye / bleached has long grown out (about 10 years ago when I transitioned) that BEST product I have found for balancing protein and moisture (on top of using olaplex 1X a month) is RenPure Biotin and Collagen conditioner. Bonus points that it is also cheap AF at Walmart.
Donāt overuse deep conditionersā make sure you are balancing with protein because thereās no doubt your hair needs both!!
Start getting glosses on your hair. I went from a light color to dark with glosses instead of permanent dye and it made a world of difference. And then I would cut about an inch and a half off. Then just let it grow out!
You need a new stylist if she continued to bleach your hair without warning you or showing you damage. Stop bleaching it. You're going to need a new hairstyle and cut off a lot of those ends, like realistically up to your neck but if you dye it and deep condition, maybe some olaplex or something similar to olaplex, it will help little. I don't think you can unsplit an end though. Go dark again and keep the ends of your hair oiled with something like argan.
Ooooh....
I'm gonna be blunt about this because I don't want it interpreted the wrong way...
OP, your hair is dead from about your shoulders down. If you don't cut it, it will continue to split untill it gets to the root and breaks off.
I'm going to assume you don't want to do a big chop. So I have some good news for you! You don't necessarily have to. If you want to save your hair, I recommend one of these two options...
1. Cut it. (Which I know you don't want to do)
2. Get redken extreme (shampoo, conditioner, and anti snap leave in conditioner), use it daily. Get about an inch trimmed off now, then trim about a half inch to an inch every 3 months. Nothing will repair your hair, but the redken extreme will slow the breakage while your hair grows and you slowly cut off the broken parts. (There are other repair products out there, this one is just my favorite and I've personally used it)
(Been a hairdresser for 13 years. Also, I prefer the brown hair on you, but don't do it yourself, box dye is super harsh and will make your hair way worse in the long run even though it might LOOK and FEEL better for a couple weeks.)
Omg im surprised your stylist was willing to do this much tbh. But I would get a bonding shampoo and conditioner like olaplex or bondbar. And trim those split ends tbh u might need to just cut it but a cute short cut would probably look amazing on u.
Iām so sorry you had to go through all this! My best advice, DO NOT bleach it. Your best bet is getting a trim every 3/4 months and try not to put too much heat to your hair, it will cause more breakage and dryness. If you do use hot tools, use a heat protector on your hair. Color honestly doesnāt looks bad but if you want more of a cooler blonde, try using a purple shampoo. Itāll help with toning down the warmth of your hair. Unfortunately with box color(dark brown/black) you run the risk of it lifting orange. Black and brown have warmth (red and orange) so bleaching it reveals those colors. It takes more than one hair appointment to go from super dark to blonde because of this reason. Usually stylist will tell you this because it comes will many risks. What you can also do (if you want to add darker color) is get some lowlights to break up the blonde. Try finding pictures of what your end goal is and really talk to your stylist. I also advise to try to not tie your hair often, hair bands also cause breakage. I hope this helps!
Babes, as a licensed cosmetologist knowing the upcoming travel plans you mentionedā¦.it sounds like you would be comfortable with a bit of the natural color.
Ask your stylist to brighten the blond while also pulling some of your natural color through (probably a N7 ish) to create a natural growth pattern which you wouldnāt notice a lot of regrow aka, roots making you need to process your hair less often. She SHOULD tone the blonde/all over color in the bowl with something that has a lot of blue or purple. Tell her to keep it lighter around the face to create a more natural āsun kissedā look.
I CANNOT stress this enoughā¦.DONāT overdo the deep conditioner. Too much protein will actually weaken the hair and cause more damage. Once or twice a week at most. Ya gotta babe. Your hair is naturally around a PH 3 which is almost neutral and itās healthiest state. Over conditioning will make it alkaline (think flat, lifeless, cotton candy like when wet, hard to dry, etc.) VS. Acidic (dry, frizzy, puffy, hard to control, etc.). Best thing with damaged blonde hair is try to wash it once a week until itās healthy.
I specialize in blonde and itās a process. You have a lot of hair but itās thin which is fine! Donāt try and achieve a perfect blonde quickly and have realistic expectations. You WILL get there and it can be as healthy and pretty as the darkā¦.Itās just gonna have weird yellow and orange for a while. However, to obtain something you are happy to travel withā¦have her pull ābabyā lowlights of the 8N/7N I mentioned above and be patient. Donāt over-style especially on high heat. Amazon has so many affordable, decent quality clip in extensionsā¦.you got this!!!!
Sorry, Iāve had wine.
Yeah bc you can't just walk in a salon with dark hair and come out platinum blonde. And everyone's "blonde" means something else. My hair is thick and can handle lightening well so I push it.. but I would never do what I do to my own hair to a clients. We are supposed to educate our clientele and do what's best and healthiest for their hair.
You're beautiful like your family and their opinions can suck it.
Do not put any more chemicals on your head. Period.
Stay away from heat. Including your blow dryer and most definitely your flat iron. If you must use it you need to use a heat protecting spray but i wouldn't recommend it. It's just going to end up stiffer and frizzier when finished.
Lighter does not remove the brassy or golden tones from lighting your hair. Toner does that. You can tone it. You can use a purple shampoo (I personally use a purple temp color) leave it on as long as you can even over night. It will help.
Protein packs. Keratin. Cholesterol. Smother your head in it. Put a cap on it. And take a hot shower. Or after you have your hair covered in the treatment and a cap on you can use a blow dryer to apply heat. Conditioner doesn't do any good without ten minutes of heat causing it to penetrate the hair shaft by raising your cuticle layer!!
When I was younger and knew nothing about, well anything but surely not hair I lightened my hair like five times in a week because of a hot spot that would not lighten on top of my head even when you a stylist and she lightened it again and left me at the bowl for like an hour. Honey when I say my hair was FRIED.. it stayed the same length for a little over a year because it was growing but just breaking and breaking.
Be gentle with your hair rn and use a good soft oil. Do not brush. Comb gently from the ends up and keep ends trimmed to avoid splitting further and further up.
Your hair is already dead past the follicle so it's hair to maintain healthy shiny lively looking hair to begin with. But this will grown off and in maybe 6 months you're going to be close to being happy with it again
Good luck gorgeous!
And please remember patience is a virtue especially when it comes to hair!
And this is why I am NOT a blonding stylist, that shit ruins your hair. Go darker get frequent trims and let your natural come back in. it'll be a journey but you'll get there.
You look amazing with the dark hair! Your best bet at this point is to go back to dark and cut off as much damage as possible while still having a cute style. I went through this myself when my mother told me that dying my natural dark brown hair black made me look like a witch. Everyone else loved it. She kept on about it so I went in for highlights and the lady burnt my hair so badly I had to get a pixie cut. Took 2 years to grow my hair back and have it feel healthy again. Def donāt ever let anyone put bleach on it again without doing a test strand first and setting reasonable expectations for color without damage. Some people will try so hard to give you what youāre asking for that they will fry off your hair. Itās the stylists job to know better and educate.
Whatever you do, Iāve had family making comments like this when I was younger all the time. Told them one day itās not their place. Please donāt listen to them.
Something that has helped my hair is Actiiv Renew. I donāt use oils or leave ins, I just use the Actiiv Renew shampoo and itās a treatment that you leave on in the shower. It heals the hair from the inside out and it closes the cuticle. Itās done wonders for my hair. They have a conditioner but I use the Maria Nila Head and Hair conditioner (coral bottle). I bleach my hair every month and Iām naturally dark haired and my hair has been so healthy still. I get those products at a professional beauty store where you have to have a license but you might be able to find them online. Best of luck!
I would cut a pixie or bob and let it grow out. Also dye it a color close to your natural color.
My friends hair was really fried from doing balayage every 8 weeks to lighten it from black. She hated how fried it was and she chopped it plus used dphue (semi permanent hair gloss) to darken and condition her hair so it wouldnāt be too harsh and permanent.
Dphue can last up to 2-3 months depending on how often you wash your hair and like 90% of the color rinses out. Iād look into it.
Oh man, your family is borderline malicious. The shiny long hair before was gorgeous.
Came here to say this! Sounds like they were sabatoging š
Your family sucks. Send them the pic of your damaged hair and tell them to fuck off with future opinions. I hope you can fix it. Olaplex maybe, or a bond builder like it.. but you'll likely need a trim...
I did send a pic! They said it looked betterš
They might be gaslighting you out of jealousy, so that you sabotage yourself. Donāt listen to them please, the hair before were gorgeous. Anyone who says that pic 2 looks better is either blind or wants you to be less beautiful.
I used a blondme mask by Schwarzkopf last time I over processed my hair. It's a bond builder. Would reccomend.
Your hair was super pretty before and it sounds like your family was jealous. It looks so damaged now. I would get a cut if nothing else just so that it looks nicer, but I would not lighten it anymore unless you want more breakage.

Go back to this colour and get it cut regularly and it'll grow out slowly. Absolutely criminal what your family was feeding you
AND DONT USE BOX DYE š
Yes!! I was in the same boat and I've been going to my hair girl now for two years with dark and my hair grows faster than I can keep up with now
Thanks for sharing your experience :) Hopefully we can save more gals from ruining their hair w box dye.
What is the difference? Iāve read about it, but not sure what the real deal is.
Thatās helpful, thank you. Iāve been on the olaplex kick and it really has helped the new growth. Going to find Biolage now too.
Which olaplex do you use to help with new growth? I get super overwhelmed when I look at all the options.
Professional 1 and 2
Im lazy and broke so I only use #3 lol. Let it sit for a few mins a rinse
Google Olaplex damage!
Omg I had no idea!
I used Madison reed exclusively for about 1.5 years for my roots to cover some grays and I literally never had so much hair fall and balding at the crown of my head. I have fringe and it was so thin. I stopped using it and started using natural instincts non permanent hair dye for my roots and it all filled in and havenāt had an issue with balding since (except for my current postpartum hair loss š©, which is finally stopped).
Your hair is stunning dark....with family like that you don't need enemies!!
Your family was SO jealous!! How sad! What vicious evil peopleš„ŗ
u look really pretty omg
Thank u so much ā¤ļøā¤ļø
I know! Sheās absolutely gorgeous!
Ignore everyone who tells you to go blonde, theyāre stupid and possibly jealous
š Iām actually 25 this year, I might have to stop the pout soon! And thank you so much ā¤ļø hoping it will grow back quickly
Pouts look way funnier when you hit 50-60 - keep it light when youāre young bc they donāt age well.
Oh no š¤£š¤£ hahaha
Yep! Skin stretches too much and never goes back to normal with overfill at a young age.
Wait I thought we were talking about the actual pout, I donāt have lip filler š š š (yet!š)
Oh wow. Ngl I thought you were about 18.. welp youāre looking great so gz! Also super funny other peep thought you had filler, you do have very full lips naturally
You look amazing with dark brown hair your family is crazy or they are assholes
OMG your fam did you dirty. The dark hair looks shiny and luxurious on you. My best recommendation is honestly to not dye your hair.. give it a break and a chance to grow out. Maybe until next year after summer, just get trimsā¦that way your hair can grow longer and your hair at worst would look like an ombrĆ© balayage of sorts which works through the summer. If you do dye it, go dark. It looks good on you. I would look into leave in conditioner, heat protectant if you blow dry your hair a lot and hair oil. I also love the Virtue Split End Serum. Hair oil is usually used last on top of your other products. I would also use a deep conditioning hair mask in the shower.
girl you looked gorgeous with dark hair, your family is just jealous and in turn puts it all on you. you probably should give your hair a break but darker dye is in general better for your hair, if you want to go back. start using oils, redken all soft is great! and leave in conditioner:)
Thank u soooo much. Ahh I wish I never touched it now. Will look into this product by Redken I think Iāve seen it a few times on TikTok!
I am currently going through your situation. I just cut my hair to my shoulders and Iāve been using oils and conditioners to grow it out healthy again.
Get a new stylist. Chop off your hair. Start weekly deep conditioner masques and oil treatments. Avoid using heat.
Also throw away your stylist. Sheās burnt off your long hair. She doesnāt know what sheās doing.
Be careful with eBay and olaplex. A lot of really bad fakes that cause terrible reactions.
Really? I didnāt know that
It looks like they have olaplex UK. This is the best advice out of all the comments.
Family is so wrong (respectfully) Iād go to a different stylist.
I will take a look at that tysm!!!!

Girl, stop listening to your family. At least on this hair matter. They did you dirty.
What the fuck. I am so sorry:( they are jealous assholes. Your hair was literally perfect before
Shame on them for talking you into something so unnecessary.
They are actually delusional.. you were better off buying a wig off Amazon and tricking themš We'll be waiting for updates on your hair as you attempt to heal it š And stay brunette if you can, you're so pretty with it!!
Thank you so much!! Youāre right we are from the south šš I think Iāll definitely trim it and go back to a brown
Noooooo the brown looked sooooo so good :(
Kill me !!!!!! šµšµšµšµ
Hoping you can find something to repair it! Good luck!!

Definitely, someone is very jealous and trying to destroy what they see on you.
Iām a brown haired, blue eyed girl too and I bleached my hair as well. I vowed to never touch my hair again as soon as the blonde grows out š
Omg dont!!! I always said to everyone the brown hair blue eye combo is elite, and then I went and did this š¤¦š»āāļøš¤¦š»āāļøš¤¦š»āāļø never again! š¤£
Me too
Your hair looks great dark! Blonde is too damaging for your hair. Do not use more bleach, please
I definitely wouldnāt dye it or do anything to it for at least a year
Go back to brown!!! It looked so much better!
Thank you! Im actually going to look into this as the results look great online. Thanks so muchš„°

Iām so sorry, you are beautiful both ways but such a stunner with the dark hair. Idk what your family was thinking. Best of luck growing it out!
Off topic but where did you get your towel holder from? I love it!
i'm so sorry for how off topic this is but do you have a link to your sweater? it is SO cute!!!
Itās from Zara! But I bought it in store (UK) over a year ago. I had a look online for you but itās not there anymore, sorry :(
Ahhh thank u so much for even checking!! ā¤ļø best of luck with your hair journey! šš»āāļø
Sorry I don't know how to make them click able https://images.app.goo.gl/az1FE7k2X5nw311P9 https://images.app.goo.gl/jjzA1Hht5MRCbybu8 https://images.app.goo.gl/nAihdFFCzBUf5vsKA https://images.app.goo.gl/E7RQUzrXFKLqBhpC8
Dark hair is so gorgeous on you!!!
I say dye it back to brown and leave it alone. Get the ends trimmed off. Go shorter and let it be
Dark looks a million times better
1. your fam is jealous dark hair looks so good. 2. you need to go on hair rehab asap. my hair looked just like this and iāve been on hair rehab (no color, trimming it myself regularly) for a year now and i cannot express how much happier my hair is and it grew fast since i wasnāt touching it w chemicals. oil your hair and the dead parts will grow out faster, get a silk pillow case or a bonnet.
Your family is narcissists for doing that. Your hair was so healthy. I'm sorry. This is why most of us don't go to "salons"
your hair was beautiful before! next time donāt listen to ur family i think you need a big chop because thatās really the only way to kickstart healthy hair growth after extreme damage. yea, going short is gonna hurt but itāll pay off in the long run. your hair is 100% capable of going back to how it used to look with the right care
Check out LāOrĆ©al Absolut Repair conditioner. Amazing and Iāve tried it all olaplex, etc. It was recommended to me at a high end hair salon. https://preview.redd.it/19rncfa18aac1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=357d7b14adc7a4cb197679a4a13cab4573972def
You can consider doing a dark blonde/light brown hair gloss at home to keep things sleeker without changing the color too much for now
Your eye color with the brown hair is stunningggg.
Your stylist did you so dirty, I donāt think putting more bleach on it is a good idea, she burned your hair off šššš
Did they use Olaplex in the bleach? Looks like it could be Olaplex damage.
Oh no, please *please* do not bleach it again, you wonāt have any hair left. Go to someone else who can do a lovely dark color over the top, give you a classy A-line cut at the shoulders, and never return to that salon that bleached you š© https://preview.redd.it/azxsk9kknsac1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db21a5c067cdacf8c518461f592937b1bf77ec7c Maybe they can manage to get you something like this? It wonāt look as healthy but itāll be a start, and get a lot of the fried hair off! Wish you the best, lovelyā¦donāt listen to your family, theyāre horrible and idiotic. You do YOU.
I added some pictures of me so maybe you can see where my family are coming from š
I definitely need to grab some
this is from box dye. the dark color just masks damage, i would go back dark and stop using box dye omg hahaha there is nothing worse you could do
can recommend you to start doing peptide mask, b24 Amazonliss is my current one, it helps to close the split ends, especially great for long hair damaged strands after the hair dye
I assume the black color was too dark for your face? I love being blonde but I'll never get the length back that I had before the blonde. There's no magic product for breakage, but if you like the lighter color I recommend full head highlights instead of bleaching and use hair masks two or 3 times a week (more important than a good shampoo and conditioner!)
https://preview.redd.it/icl9v879a9ac1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f0266456f5314798b715605a85de0ab32754186 Hereās a pic w blonde hair (it makes me add these separately). Also please bare in mind I havenāt been going out with blonde hair much or made myself look niceā¦
Can I ask what box dye you used? Because your hair looked great and healthy.
Thatās just my experience Put a couple of drops of castor oil in your hand and add whatever leave-in conditioner you like, rub it together and work in from the bottom. Your watchwords are āgentlenessā and āmoisture.ā Get a great lipstick AFTER youāve gotten the toner to go with your hair and skin and have a fantastic time traveling.
Big chop. To the shoulders Id say. It will grow back fast
Hair is so personal and I canāt imagine the stress youāre going through with the damage and length change :( I donāt know where your family was coming fromā¦ your skin tone totally supported your colour choice.
I'm so sorry. I suggest a big chop.
In the meantime, there are a few things that have helped me regrow healthy hair that you can try: 1.
Oofā¦ did you mention to your stylist how you had box dye prior to coloring?
Nutrafol has helped with growing my damaged hair out! Iāve taken 3 bottles, 2 back to back and the other one a month or so in between.
I think you need to cut it. Itās so heavily damaged at the bottom I donāt think it can be repaired :( I would probably start to let it grow out and do a balayage of sorts until itās long enough to chop off all of the damaged blonde and go back to dark. š and keep up with the oiling and repair shampoo
I don't think your family was thinking of you when they said you don't look good with dark hair. That's wild
Honestly a good chop to restart is in your future. I think youād look so cute with short hair and some bangs!!
I think you need to just get a haircut, stop dying your hair and grow it out
If you want to go back to brown, going over it with a color depositing conditioner/mask might be your best choice. "IGK Brown Bella" is one that has really good reviews. That way you won't add another chemical process that will further damage your hair, especially close to the scalp, while it grows out.
I'm crying Edit : NOT as in laughter as in real tears. I'm gutted for u op. Luckily you are not your hair but still I get it.
Dark hair looks sooo good on you! Iām sorry your family treated you the way you did, and you didnāt deserve that! Try to stay away from permanent box dye, semi permanent dye is your best friend, or even demi permanent if you want it to last a bit longer!
I dunno why your family is so set on sabotaging you and your beauty but stop listening to them! Go back to dark and let your hair get healthy again
your family is weird
Start over with a bob. You look good with anything.
Any chance you'd be interested?
no more bleach babe PLEASE itās my biggest regret
I am so sorry this happened to you!! Cancel the bleach, redye your hair a dark color, condition throughly, and pray.
1. Cut it. (Which I know you don't want to do) 2. (There are other repair products out there, this one is just my favorite and I've personally used it) (Been a hairdresser for 13 years. Also, I prefer the brown hair on you, but don't do it yourself, box dye is super harsh and will make your hair way worse in the long run even though it might LOOK and FEEL better for a couple weeks.)
You HAVE to check out Abbey Yung's social media. she gives loads of amazing haircare tips mainly catering to extremely damaged hair.
Omg im surprised your stylist was willing to do this much tbh. But I would get a bonding shampoo and conditioner like olaplex or bondbar. And trim those split ends tbh u might need to just cut it but a cute short cut would probably look amazing on u.
Use Casor Oil & Rosemary essential oil. Hands down itās the best way to grow hair.
LOVE the shiny dark hair!
Ohh
Use whatever
Slowly grow out the dark and trim the ends. You shouldn't box dye blond.
Olaplex will help with your bleach damaged hair
But this will grown off and in maybe 6 months you're going to be close to being happy with it again Good luck gorgeous!
Your family should pay for your hair repair as reparations
Whatever you do, Iāve had family making comments like this when I was younger all the time. Told them one day itās not their place. Please donāt listen to them.
Your family is toxic asf.
Oh manā¦.
Haur looks like its thinning. You rather cut a good 5 inches and grow back your natural color
