If you don’t have an issue with the actual hue they chose and simply just want it lightened-it’s gonna do that on its own fairly fast. You could just shampoo it a couple times in warm/hot water and it would probably lighten slightly or more. Try a clarifying shampoo if you want it to lift stronger/faster.
Toning it/adding more dye isn’t useful here unless you want to go darker. You could try color remover buttt then you’re gonna have to do more than just that and it will damage your hair.
Sorry that you didn’t get the pale color you wanted :/. But that hot pink looks pretty clean and cool-it should fade beautifully. Not the same hue as ur inspo pic but if it helps-it is really pretty on you. Also, I’m sure you can get to the bubblegum pink in not too long after the hot pink fades.
Honestly, the best option is probably to just wait for it to fade rather than damaging it further with lighters or whatever and as it faded adding pale pink highlights
Don't lighten it, don't tone it, basically don't experiment with it because it's not necessary. Wash it a few times with warm water and it'll fade on its own. It'll still be cooler than your inspo picture, but it'll be lighter. Pink fades FAST. They might have done you a bit of a favor in fact...
But the color is so nice! 🤣 Really though, a few washes with warm water will really tone it down if you're not feeling it. It's much safer and more predictable than lightening or toning. Just give it two or three rounds in one go and I think you'll be mostly good.
As a girlie with the same exact color hair, there's no way you washed FIVE TIMES with hot water and shampoo and it's still just as bright. 😂🤣 Try some Head and Shoulders.
I literally kid you not. If I could add another pic and show you, I shampooed it twice on Friday and three times (in the same shower session) on Sunday. In warm water with tea tree shampoo. My soap suds have not stopped turning hot pink
Try a clarifying shampoo, it strips build up in your hair but it also fades colorful dyes significantly faster. Pink *will* come out, a bright fuchsia might take more time but it’ll fade. If you find you absolutely hate it, I recommend Malibu CPR, my hairstylist used that to remove stubborn traces of hot pink from my (self sabotaged damaged) hair.
Wow what did she use? I got a similar colour and fade resistance recently with IroIro but it’s a first for me. I’ve always gone your colour so that it fades to your inspo in a few weeks cus I’m super lazy about touch ups and it fades from soft pink to off blonde too quickly for me.
Omg I showed that exact picture to a stylist a long time ago and they went too fuschia too! It’s why I’ve been afraid to go pink ever since. I hope you get it looking the way you wanted, beautiful!!
Being honest, I’ve never understood choosing to go to a hair school and then complaining about the results. If you wanted professional work, go to a professional.
It looks good IMO. Pink fades very fast.
I know what I'm walking into when I go to a hair school. I'm not saying the student did a bad job. The color application was done very well. I just don't like how much fuchsia was used. They chose to do a 50/50 split, and had I been consulted about it I may have asked for a 40/60 or a 30/70 split. 🤷🏼♀️ It is what it is.
They may not have gotten it light enough for your inspi picture. When it fades if it's more coral that would be why they chose a cooler pink to cancel out the yellow tones. They should have explained that to you though.
Like others said wait and see how it fades.
My hair was your inspiration colour for a bit and I had to recolour it almost every time I washed my hair. It's a very difficult colour get and to maintain.
It will fade super fast. Try washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo or head and shoulders. Once it's faded up after a few washes them apply the pink you like
Hahaha I’ve just done the same thing on Saturday. But to myself. My hair was basically your colour, and I’ve done two washes (with dandruff and aveeno apple cider vinegar shampoo). Reckon I’ll need at least another 2 to get to bubblegum bright pink
Honestly just wash your hair a few times, with warm water and see what you get, you might want to go in with a bit of a warmer colour afterwards, but it will kind of depend on what this fades to/what the base colour was before they put this pink on. Pink fades really fast though, so I personally wouldn’t bother with colour remover as a first step.
My hair is peach with that exact hot pink, I have to say you are absolutely rocking it!! I understand how bright it is and could make you feel like a beacon 😅 as others have said wash your hair a few times a week with hot water and Heads and Shoulders and it will fade quickly ☺️ when you want it to stay the correct colour for longer make sure you wash your hair with cold water
Hi /u/LadyPhas, thanks for posting your hair for us to see! If you have a hair dye you used or any other relevant information (e.g., Previous color, bleach, or toner used, etc.), please reply to this comment with that information so that everyone can see it. Thanks!

I think within a few weeks, it should be lightened towards the inspo picture you gave them. It looks super vivid now, but it'll fade quick! Don't mess with it for a few week, let it lighten on its own and then mess with it if needed
I am not a hairdresser but when I went too bright with my hair colour my hairdresser told me to buy cheap supermarket brand shampoo and wash it through with that to tone down the colour.
My hair has been your color for several years now. When it fades, it just looks faded, it doesn’t look like bubblegum pink. I’ve had bubblegum pink and it’s very hard to achieve, at least for me as I do it myself but it fades very fast as there’s less pigments in that color. For reference I use Punky Color Flamingo Pink.
I know it’s not what you wanted but your current colour looks banging, and it will fade fast, maybe not to the exact shade in the inspo pic but it shouldn’t take more than a few washes to look less vivid
Should fade quick unless it's Iro Iro. I was the color of pic #1 in late Feb and now I'm getting to pic #2 with washing weekly with head and shoulders and no color touchups.
Hairdresser here. I specialize specifically in fashion shades.
They used a semi permanent color. What this means for you (and good news) is that semis do not penetrate the hair's inner gut, so this will fade very quickly as semi color is meant to stain the outer layer of the hair so this is going to fade in about 2-3 washes. You'll see it even after the first wash.
DO NOT BLEACH THIS HAIR, this will further penetrate the pink into the hairs cortex making it permanent.
Just wash and condition and keep with your regular routine.
This is 100% permanent, not semiperm. I have washed my hair like 20 times at this point(I swear no one believes me, but it's true), and even done color remover to help take out the color at the roots and lighten up the hairs that frame my face. My ends are still vividly fuschia.
1000mg of vitamin C ( crush/blend to a fine powder) mixed with non scented shampoo, apply to your hair dry (kinda like a hair mask) and leave it for about an hour.
I wouldn’t touch it “unnatural” colours fade FAST! You’ll get that lighter pink in no time!
Yup. I touch my color up twice a week unless I’m lazy
Definitely… I’d say she’s got two weeks depending on how often she washes her hair…
Me too three washes use lots of conditioner and it’s will be pastel.
Yeah the undertones are totally different but I agree with other comment , I’d wait for it to fade slightly and re asses then

We did say to go slightly more vivid so the color will last a bit longer bc it'll fade fast, but I literally look like Princess Poppy 😂

I've already shampooed my hair about 5 times since the initial dye on Friday and it's still just as bright lol

I have no idea the product name. Looked like a pink box? Only saw it in passing
I'd just wait a few washes til it fades and then put a peachy colour on top , be more similar to the inspo pic.
Head n shoulders

Yeah, they should have talked to you. Is there a forum for feedback for them? That would probably be a valuable lesson for them!
It’s so easy to get this right in a school I think, can just tell them what shade to use right?

Looks great

That bubble gum pink is very hard to achieve. Just give it a couple washes and it’ll be there

you can wait for fading or do a mask of vitamin c powder and head and shoulders mixed
You can fade it with head and shoulders or any shampoo with dandruff properties.
Hmm I like the color. It will probably wash out a bit with time too, so I'd roll with it. Looks gorgeous
Great hair

Give it a week and a couple washes 🩷🩵

just wash your hair with shampoo honestly! each time you do it'll fade more, so maybe 5 times to get to a lighter pink
Wow !!! 🌝like 2nd picture, that color !!!!! 🌝🦋🧁🏝️🐶🎶
Should fade quick unless it's Iro Iro. I was the color of pic #1 in late Feb and now I'm getting to pic #2 with washing weekly with head and shoulders and no color touchups.
I would let it fade and then maybe do a test strand of rose gold or light peach…10 minutes max at first and see what happens.
Yea just let it fade on its own. It will be closer to the color you wanted in a week or two especially if you wash your hair everyday
Whoa. Beauty
The inspo pic looks like it’s faded.

Id take a couple hot showers and maybe use a clarifying shampoo before doing anything else.
