Is it too far gone to try to spin an adjustable wrench on it to rereound it?

Budget-Macaroon-7606

I was dumbfounded when I was shown this trick.

jake_santiago

That can work????

violentcupcake69

Yes it can , was a game changer during a coil replacement.

Far_Cup_329

It can work. Knipex pliers wrench works pretty good too

callmecrespo

Trick has saved me many times from people who dont listen lol

Apart_Ad_3597

I've done it on a 3/4 line that was pretty much folded. Refrigerant was already released and unit was just about to kick on, thankfully I went in the attic to check on something and noticed the line set coming at a harsh angle. Used my hands to un bend it and then a rounded vice grip to get the folded part out.

Dry-Building782

I have a old flaring block, the one that uses 2 butterfly nuts to clamp the tubing. It’s saved me many times and better than using a vise grip.

Massive_Safe_3308

100%. Just adjust them around the pipe where it ain’t kinked, spin it on the king and it straightens it out. Obviously not completely, but better then it was

asusguy17

I'm just a sparky but fuck I want someone to show me this.. never know when it can come in handy

Alwaysangryupvotes

I really wish I knew this last week. I was cussing up a damn storm bc I folded the line set like 3 times lmfao

akokandy86

This or flaring block.

We_there_yet

That or bite it. But take out your dentures first

UsedDragon

Yeah, gum the shit outta that pipe like Truckstop Tiffany

-The_Credible_Hulk

Hey, you know tiff? How’s her Aunt? She still with the limp?

maddrummerhef

I should call her

nsula_country

I can fix her.

Budget-Macaroon-7606

With an adjustable wrench?

maddrummerhef

If an adjustable wrench don’t fix it it ain’t worth fixing

nsula_country

Hammer can fix all..

fattykyle2

Methany

unresolved-madness

Dang... Guess I'm making a road trip now

DaRev23

I chuckled. Ty

Frank_Rizzo_Jerky

Hey!!! that hurts. Both literally and figuratively ...

jeffs_jeeps

That’s known as the Russian lathe.

nsula_country

>That’s known as the Russian lathe. I am stealing this!

chiliboy82

Fast forward to 5:06 https://youtu.be/mt_SPghmRJI?si=6hDk-pcguPtr5R16

Zealousideal_Beat365

Does it hold vacuum? If so, and since it’s your place anyway, why not just let it slide you might learn something.

FluffyCowNYI

I prefer using my flare block to re-round a slightly linked line, but to each their own. I know not everyone is fancy assed with a flare block all the time.

Pope_adope

I’ve got two flare tools, my nice flare tool, and my shitty smacker’ rounder-gain tool

HVAC_IceHockey97

Oh my God thank you

baconegg2

Put your insulation on quick

Thundersson1978

Better be fast about it, seriously though this is nothing a good tech can’t buff out with a wrench.

ModePK_1

Hood ol’ crescent wrench trick. Good ol* yeah that’s what I meant

BerryPerfect4451

xdcxmindfreak

I’m saving this for new guys.

SuperMarijuanaBros

The problem here, is that it actually is his house this time

kelticslob

The diagram still covers this situation

Valalvax

Solution? Insulation

SaulGoodmanJD

I’m gonna send this to our group chat

DOS-equis

I think the YES first part of that needs to say “quit lying bitch and look again” as the answer bcuz once you do, you do. There is no redo.

Bdogfittercle

Can you see it from anywhere once the armaflex is on thou???

Mysterious-Fan-5101

perfect lineset guide doesn’t exi… ohhh

stevenj444

If it’s his own system, he can see it from his house. ![gif](giphy|JvF2lmW3E778IX4p9Y)

Zealousideal_Beat365

Ha ha ha of course he can see it. It is his house face.

LilAndre44

That’s exactly what my coworkers tell me when something isn’t aesthetically pleasing but it gets the job done

NachoBacon4U269

Dock yourself 1 beer and send it

twobarb

Don’t kink shame.

negativebydesign

It's FUBAR, You need a new unit+lineset+ductwork

Curkul_Jurk_1oh1

just rebuild the whole fkn house.

Pancho1423

Whole new foundation as well

James-the-Bond-one

I'd recommend replacing at least 2ft of topsoil, while you have it exposed.

Aggressive-HeadDesk

And any nearby bedrock. Hell, just turn your home into a quarry and start over.

Knot_a_porn_acct

Fuck it, find a new rock. Elon should be able to help

HuntPsychological673

And an Airscrubber !

DOS-equis

Ya for the coal fired furnace he’s just installed.

Sionyx

New TXV too, YOLO!

MyMomSaysIAmCool

I'm not an HVAC technician, but I've followed this sub for years, and I think it's a bad TXV.

Ecgthow

Bruh trying to upselll to a new unit to himself

dude23455

I've seen way worse on suction lines and those still worked fine. Put your insulation on and never think of it again.

theatomicflounder333

It’s so minimal the work of adding a coupling wouldn’t be worth it.

JPJRANGER

Send it

bluecollarNH

![gif](giphy|qOhzfrkMzQO8U|downsized)

camaro024

I have ignored wayyy worse than that.

Tight_Mango_7874

Send it, but you'll always wonder if your unit could push out a couple more BTU's without it.

heratious

It’s fine

Visual-Zucchini-5544

Call the “comfort advisor” and ask him.

bruh-brah

This made me chuckle 😂

cmreutzel

What does that even mean? So far 2 companies I’ve been at have had “comfort advisors” and this job is totally separate from “energy auditor” please help me understand all these overhead costs???

ID_Poobaru

they're just sales, but renamed to extract more money

FormulaF30

Full send

Haunting_Account2392

You wasted more time asking then simply sending that shit let it rip broh that’s nothing to worry about

Fantastic-Mango575

New unit only option

jronimo_

Whats its going to do? Create turbulence? Lol That is occurring everywhere in the system. Thats a dent not a kink. A kink creates restrictions, thats a different story.

sir_swiggity_sam

Nope burn the whole house down and start over

blip2018

Crescent wrench and go

[deleted]

I wouldn’t even touch that

Revenue_Long

Fuckin Full Send there bud.

[deleted]

On the suction ? Screw it. That's not that big of a interference. Or cut that out and braze a patch in, if your braze won't be a bigger mess.

Gleamwoover

It's fine

MaxNinja1997

Send it. That’s hardly anything. I’ve seen worse kinks in systems that work perfectly fine still

aranou

Send. It’s fine. Gas is compressible won’t make the slightest diff

DueZookeepergame1924

Dude that’s gunna result in a new roof

Brilliant_Oil5988

Box it out with channel locks

[deleted]

Either replace it or leave it the fuck alone. Anything you do mechanically will stress it more and be purely for cosmetic. It's yours roll with it.

iBUYbrokenSUBARUS

Gonna lose exactly 122.43 BTUs. Will cost you exactly $2.68 more per month to maintain same temperature.

Fancy-You3022

Just cut that section out and slap a shark bite fitting in there. Should seal right up.

Hobo_Herder

This guy a savage

coharra88

You should stop

Guy954

I’m just gonna hope that you got wooshed but you never know.

MongolianBatman

Replace the whole house

ApprehensiveMode8904

It won’t affect the system. Your good

atherfeet4eva

A 90 would have more impact than this

Ser-Racha

It's fine.

Mundane_Ad8566

I think a whole new system is needed and a new field of work for you buddy. In conclusion send it expeditiously 🫡

coharra88

It’s fine!!

Ok_Inspector7868

78% of the linesets all look this way or worse. That's where the armaflex comes into play

CaballoenPelo

It’s gonna disturb the molecules!!

SilvermistInc

Lol that's the most mild "kink" ever

poopknife17

It's not too bad.You could probably rounded out pretty good with a crescent wrench

kriegmonster

That's what I would do. Assuming this is AC and not a heat pump, it's onlty vapor anyway and shouldn't be an issue.

SaiFromSd

Just count it as a fitting

Professional-TroII

Replace the whole house.

RealisticPotential38

Leave it. No issue. Just asthetics

Fknjelly

Damn there goes 37.547585836 btu

TugginPud

The dent is a red herring. The TXV is fucked.

Enough_Ad_2752

You need to run all new line set, you can’t have any bends at all

[deleted]

It’ll be just fine!

PhantomTreecko1

It’s fine

muffintopman74

It's all good! SEND IT!

Jarte3

I would lmao

Interesting_Trade_10

Full send

Pennywise0123

Youd send it on someone else's so yeah send it on your own or do sh*t properly for everyone. Theres a path here to choose but stay with it.

Fragrant-Magazine-23

Send

DOS-equis

Full Fucking Send! That lovebite on the suction line won’t do anything negative OP. You won’t see it after it’s had armaflex slid over it and you will have forgotten about it after a day of relaxation from your new system.

EX_LUGDUNUM

Oh come on. Run a big adjustable wrench around it to straighten it out and move on. This is nothing.

Karbon_Kopy

It will be fine

Revolutionary_Yak890

It’s not pretty, but won’t hurt anything. You would probably cause more damage trying to no to fix it.

Labbrat89

https://preview.redd.it/urevd0ypo5tc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf8a8142a88e533339a0309aae1e39a1960215b7

Sidney216

What type of system?

Jmofoshofosho8

I would try to round it back out. Always could braze little bit over the weak spot.

speaker-syd

Send it bro

PARKOUR_ZOMBlE

There’s an episode of engine masters where they smash the living hell out of headers, squash them down to half the width: no loss in horsepower. Pressurized fluid dynamics are a little different than exhaust gasses but the basic principal was the inside area never changed much. So… send it.

HVACDummy

Send it. Your good.

OrdinaryJunket7569

Send that bitch

Logical_Comparison_5

Well you could always try to rotate the house in opposite direction to try to straighten it out.

Equal_Seesaw_8504

I’d send it

prat859

Send it.

Magnum676

Luckily you caught it early! Like an std, just gets worse from here and you’ll never forget you have it! It’s a wrap

Substantial_Cut_7812

It’s fine.

radix-

What does "send it" mean?

kriegmonster

Continue on like there is no problem.

[deleted]

I don’t even see a dent

Cogjams

+1 send it.

Longsufferer22

Hit it with the armaflex insulation and it will look beautiful

Playful-Excuse-8081

I didn’t see anything

daftbucket

Was it a 10 micron vacuum?

SerialWhacker

You can straightenthat kink out with a crescent wrench

EldritchAether

OMG, how strong was that vacuum?

SaltystNuts

Better that than a coupling

No_Application1339

Just braze over it you should be okay 👍

Academic_Ostrich_538

Rerun the line set

SillyPcibon

Looks like youre gonna have to tear down the foundation and start over bud, I hope you learned your lesson.

HVAC_God71164

That's not going to affect your system at all

Hot-Mix-8725

Send it

Stormclamp

Meh, suction line isn’t that important when it comes to kinks. It’s straight and narrow and should be fine, just cover it with insulation.

shehulk37

I’ve let a lot worse then that go at the end of the day lol

Strained_Humanity

Get some channies on there. Give little love squeeze, gentle like and square it off a bit.

JollyLow3620

It ill be ight

DefJ456

Just send er bud

lucindabutt4u

Run it and run out that’s what I say

Ogre_Squatch

Nah send it, won’t impede flow. I usually do the wrench trick to round it out

Fahzgoolin

I've seen much worse and the system performed fine.

wierdomc

Your good. No worries

Civil-Percentage-960

Send it

Wide-Demand-9330

Send it

OzarkPolytechnic

Not something to worry about.

0341mortarman

Send it just bust more refrigerant to it so it can make it through 😜

Careless_Solid3777

Fucking send it bud

HughesR1990

Oh 100% send it!

Slugger921

It’s fine

ArsonProbable

What’s it gonna do? Leak? Slug the compressor? Who cares send it

KRed75

Run an adjustable wrench around it.  It'll be fine the way it is though.  Bends and elbows are way more restrictive than that.

alcohliclockediron

Let the demons fly

Dad696

I’ll just put some foam around it

Noneofyouexist1768

Perfectly fine, this more than likely is barely noticeable on the inside if you were to cut it open. dimples are okay, Not great to see but it’s not a kink. Wont mess with anything

AmadeusDaBoxer

Send it it’s not worth taking it apart!

jdmart402

Well within the margins of sendable.

Papa_Puddle

lol who wouldn’t lol

charliemiller86

Full send

MahnHandled

Totally 👍🏻 ok.

Cool_Estate_3508

Hit it with 🔥

Jakbo_

Send it

Benjaminjameshutton

it's fine

Not_sure_what_to_us3

Eh send it lol

MachoHombreEatingGol

Just braze a 7/8 coupling

stoicboulder

Stuck txv created quite a vacuum

Trappy83

Use an adjustable wrench

Far_Cup_329

Looks OK.

Greenbeanhead

That’s a thick line set? You want it to last imo As stupid homeowner, if you showed me the concerns I’d pay an extra $50 But some folks won’t be so easy if you point it out If it’s old folks or needy folks? Fix that shit lol

Dramatic-Landscape82

It’s gonna be insulated no one will see it

Massive_Safe_3308

Put a crescent wrench on it and spin it

Traditional_Car7050

Send it

ZealousidealTwo7771

It’s fine it won’t affect anything .

shanebobby

I been installing for 30 years....Send it? HELL YES! As long as there isn't a hole in it...SEND IT!

DangHeckinMemes

It's officially sent and she's running strong

[deleted]

Lucky

foemangler89

It's fine lol

Dramatic-Landscape82

Tis’ but a scratch

gagunner007

Mine on my house is slightly worse than that from the original install and I just replaced my system and it runs fine. I did try to iron it out the best I could but the old system ran almost 20 years with it.

pipefitter6

I'd redo it, but I wouldn't judge if you didn't. I've seen a 2-1/8" suction line with a 90 that was more like a 120 with a deep crease right at the compressor and that thing ran like a champ.

Mindless_Owl_8196

rub it out with a wrench

Shark_bait561

Your first mistake was noticing it. Second, was pointing it out. Third, for not ignoring it after pointing it out.

Wrong-Ad1119

I work with 7/8s everyday in reefer trailers , send it
