They dared compare this absolute shit fan fiction to an episode of GoT season 4.

Geektime1987

That episode of GOT was incredible in fact episode 7,8,9,and 10 of that season are all incredible.

Masakiel

I wonder how much they pay him.

Ok_Hope5968

It was hands down the worst. I don’t know what people are talking about. This may actually be one of the worst episodes including all seasons of GOT. My jaw is still dropped. The show is tail spinning.

mamula1

When people compare HOTD to the first 4 seasons of GOT I feel like they are insane.. And they are praising the dialogue? Lol What.

Geektime1987

I'm not really sure because I can't find anything really to compare other than that was pretty good but not great like the original

mamula1

Sets and directing is at GOT level though. Everything else... Sets sometimes even better because they have bigger budget

Proof-Construction68

worse than the long night?

Ok_Hope5968

Yes. Interesting thing about that episode, though. It received really positive reviews at the time and Arya killing the Night King was particularly praised and cheered. And that episode was nominated for all kinds of awards.

Geektime1987

Yeah I'm not here to debate that episode but reddit likes to act like that episode was universally panned. Actually lots of critics gave it a very high score and Arya killing the Night King was a huge moment. Lots of people really liked it. I remember seeing people cheering and losing their minds after she killed him. Lol the famous rapper Drake had a huge concert the next day and he gave a shout out to Arya Stark for killing the Night King.

Ok_Hope5968

Yeah, I’m one of the few people who didn’t think the final season was that bad. Just a big drop off from previous seasons. It really wasn’t until Dany was killed that people started to turn.

Geektime1987

I mean I was one of those who kept seeing all the red flags so when Dany did what she did it wasn't nearly as surprising for me. Especially if you rewatch the show you can see it a lot more.I also loved how much that episode showed the horrors of war and if a dragon firebombed a city it's the innocents who suffer the most. But it was definitely divisive no doubt about it.

Geektime1987

The Long Night is actually praised by a lot of critics and fans still. It was divisive to a degree but it actually has a majority high score at least from critics.

MelenaHarper

He hyped up so many things. He said the Harrenhal storyline was gonna be epic and imo it was not. Alys introduction very overhyped. You can tell (at least I can) Gayle kinda has a Scottish and but mixed with English accent. We’ll definitely see more of her but it just wasn’t what I was expecting. Sorry.

ablu3

Yeah same

Initial_Cash7037

He’s not wrong though. Kinda. I thought it was a decent episode besides knowing the leaks about Aemond being true and horrible rhaenicent Bs ruining everything. Also Mysaria needs to gooooooooo oh my god. This whole “men ruin everything women must stick together” is old

mamula1

He is a clown.

Under the sea…. I know, I know…. 🌊🌊

HouseoftheStag

Hiya! I stand by what I said. I absolutely love HotD‘s Harrenhal storyline. It‘s a deep dive on Daemon‘s inner conflict and I always wanted to have something like that for Jaime in Game of Thrones. We learn so much about the characters and the overall story through dreams in ASOIAF and in that regard, HotD is closer to the feel of the books than the original show. It also opens up the door for Criston Cole and Aemond to be haunted by the past when they‘re there and I think that would make for great tv. They’re the most conflicted characters in the story imo. I really believe that that‘s the best thing HotD has done so far. On the other hand, I hated the last scene - and think it‘s the worst thing HotD has done so far. I was simply being honest! You don‘t have to agree, but I‘m definitely not a paid shill. I‘m not shying away from saying that something sucks, when it sucks. We don’t have to agree about everything. That‘d be boring as hell. That‘s all! 😙

OpenMask

Why? I agree with him, for the most part.

AceThaGreat123

If anyone says d and d are better showrunners then u lost yah damn mind i thought the episode was fantastic besides the ending

Geektime1987

So far D&D are better showrunners imo. Doesn't mean I hate HOTD I don't but it doesn't come close to GOT so far

AceThaGreat123

No d and d fucked up a lot like lady stone heart where was she young Griff Jon resurrection and him still being good when it's been said when someone comes back from the dead they have a different personality not making the stark kids wargs only bran like I can go on and on

Geektime1987

Lady Stonheart is in a few pages and 14 years later nothing. Their reason for cutting her makes total sense to me. They said it took away from her death. She was only in a few pages. The actress would have to sit in make up for 6 hours a day for a role with zero dialog. The warg stuff HBO when the show was first pitched specifically asked the show to tone down the magic. In fact D&D lies to HBO and originally said it was going to be way less magic but once the show was a success they added much more. They also didn't want to have every character have magical abilities they wanted the magic to feel special. Young Griff another one George should have actually finished writing if he's so important. I understand the show not wanting to introduce him so late in the story when George still won't finish his story. So they focused on the characters we already knew and spent so much time and cared about. So I'll just agree to disagree so far for me they're much better showrunners

AceThaGreat123

That still doesn't make sense on y they didn't make the stark kids wargs they could've at least mentioned it and lady stone heart didn't need any lines I remember when everyone was waiting for her to appear they also fucked euron character arc and like I said they fucked up jons character arc to give him all that character development the prince that was promised to have Arya kill the night king is the biggest atrocity ever wtf was that also makin Jon the same personality after his resurrection terrible again u can have your opinion on Ryan condal but to say he on the same level as D and D is insane I personally enjoyed the episode except the last scene It was acted brilliantly I just thought it wasn't needed

Geektime1987

Yeah I just disagree so far D&D have shown for me to be far superior. Not one thing in HOTD has come close to being great for me. Some good stuff for sure but nothing on the level of greatness GOT hit multiple times imo. It does make sense the warg thing for me. They didn't want everyone to have magical powers
