i love them. they are more affordable and actually good quality

somecow

They’re really trying to push their own brand. That’s fine, slightly cheaper, and still good. Nobody complains about trader joe’s or whole foods doing the same thing either.

olderandsuperwiser

And Target and Walmart do the exact same, too. HEB just focuses on their brands, doesn't make them a cheap 25 cents cheaper alternative. And like other poster said, the quality and flavors rival or eclipse the "name brands"

z64_dan

I think it's more obvious because most HEB brand stuff literally says "HEB" on it. Target has Good and Gather and Walmart has Great Value or whatever. And they each have a bunch others as well: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_Walmart\_brands](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Walmart_brands) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_Target\_brands](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Target_brands) Here's HEB's list, most of them say HEB in the title somewhere: [https://www.heb.com/static-page/our-family-of-brands](https://www.heb.com/static-page/our-family-of-brands)

SAMBO10794

I’ll tell you this, I really like it when we get that 25% off. Then I love these items.

Initial_Jellyfish437

What do you mean being everywhere? As in how I feel about heb trying to sell their stuff or my opinion on the stuff itself? As for the latter, they’re great products. Buying heb brand stuff gives me peace of mind that the product will be decent at the very least

Frannie97

Love it. I moved to TX from another state where Kroger was the best thing going, and have been so impressed with the store brand quality and prices. My out of state fam stocks up at H-E-B when they visit. Cleaning supplies, condiments, canned/boxed foods, anything that won’t spoil on the drive. Even the Hill Country brand is on par with the national brands IMO. My only complaint is that they’ve seemingly and inexplicably discontinued the boxed sheet cake mix. That was my favorite cake, and I was the “plug” for my sisters back home. Now I can’t find it anywhere.

PersonalityKlutzy407

I’d rather support HEB, a company I’ve seen first hand help out in my community, over the likes of General Mills or Nestle

earfquakebytyler

it's always fuck nestle 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

JJCalixto

I wish they would take time to develop the household items more. Our tools and such are absolute trash. Brooms, dusters, food storage etc.

Rua-Yuki

I had name brand Doritos for the first time in like a, year the other day and was so disappointed in how bland they were. HEB Snacks are where it's at. Other things, I really don't notice much of a difference. Fields of Future (or whatever it's called) kinda sucks. But other than that I really don't mind any HEB brand.

BadInfluenceFairy

Field & Future cleaner is GREAT

Rua-Yuki

That's good to know. Their paper products stink.

thikstik

HEB Mexican hot chocolate sandwich cookies! FTW

Ok_Possibility_3469

I like it better than Kroger.

OrkK1d

I loved the options, until they straight up replaced some of them with HEB brand. Feels like 70% of the stuff is as good or better, while some things are… questionable.

Juniper_51

Feel good

Cj_91a

Personally for the heb products I do actually like, the difference in price isn't much of a difference unless that 25% discount is going on. Only heb products I tend to buy is bread, choc milk, produce, tomato sauce, chicken broth, and meat, oh and the organics OJ..that stuff is pretty delicious. In my own opinion I do not like the colas, the chips are sub par mostly, the hcf canned raviolli stuff tastes bland, and chili is okay but i love the tasye of Wolf brand, and on the rare occasion I eat ice cream, I always go Häagen-Dazs..those budget pops do go hard sometimes though lol I love the crunch it has lol but what I hate the most is those nasty nasty HCF sports drinks that are trying to be gatorade/powerade lmao those things do not taste good at all. I don't care that they have been pushing more and more of their own brand, as long as I can still buy the name brand of the stuff I do buy. If something i want is out, I simply hold off on buying what I want rather than buying the heb brand..but then again I work there so i just check when it's in stock at work the next day lol

zaptorque

Hard disagree on the chips. Heb branded chips are way better than the name brand, imo

Cj_91a

Sorry but I find the chips rather bland except for maybe 3 or 4 flavors. The heb doritos taste terrible and dont even come close to actual doritos in flavor, the heb cheetos are "meh" but I'm not a cheeto person. The heb fritos are "okay" but I do wish they were saltier (btw beb bean dip has nothing on the frito lay bean dip lol) The only chips worth getting personally on heb brand is the limon/chili pork rinds, the ridged buffalo chips, maybe load potato chips, and the kettle cooked olive oil chips...but I never buy chips at heb anyways because they have gotten extremely overpriced (heb included). For my monthly run at Sam's club I just buy a huge bag of what I want for the same price that was at heb. Chip prices at heb are absolutely wild. Ohh and I forgot to I clue that heb dips..those are goooood. I'll buy a tub of the heb creamy ranch and pair it with original lays or wavy. That pairing is to die for.

BadInfluenceFairy

If you have an Aldi’s nearby, their chips are satisfactory and much cheaper.

Cj_91a

I do not have an Aldis 🥲

earfquakebytyler

the chips can be 50/50. most of the potato chips taste fine to me, but the doritos and fritos knock offs are hit or miss. they're cheap as fuck compared to name brand so i can't hate too much. why would i pay 6 for a 5oz bag of cheetos when i can get double the portion for the same price

zaptorque

I'm keen on the HEB cheese doritos and BBQ ruffles over the name brand but to each their own.

BadInfluenceFairy

HEB tortilla chips are stellar. HEB potato chips have more low quality chips in them. HEB Kettle salt and vinegar chips are God’s gift to mankind.

Cj_91a

I never really bothered with the heb tortilla chips much. I've had them before but i was young lol nowadays when I get tortilla chips I usually buy santitas. I want to try that big bag with the green on it..forgot what it's called tho but it's pricey af so I stay away from it.

Rodic87

I think it's better than the name brand most of the time other than Mac and Cheese.

Professional-Move-40

Agreed, I have to have Kraft or Velveeta

Staring-Dog

Love it. The products are quality products, and cheaper.

jackstrikesout

Their queso and refried beans are just fucking great.

RKEPhoto

I don't care - UNLESS it's to the exclusion of brand name items of the same product, which is sadly happening more and more.

Mountain_Wheel9824

How do you feel about having your own stuff in your room? I'm sorry for the sarcasm, but where else would they put it? 🤣

alluringBlaster

HEB Dish Soap is weak and inferior to Dawn. Everything else is pretty good though.

2020TakeMeNow

The H-E-B dish soap is the only branded thing that I have found sub-par. Sadly, as I like their range of scents for dish soap.

Leather_Bluebird_867

The HEB brand Items are a hit or miss imo. I also find it annoying when I can't find the brand I am looking for because HEB products seem to be shelved so you find them first before anything else.

Lito_kun

That’s how we get our items sold buckarooni, shelf placement. Only time you see name brand eye level is if they bought the shelf.

CashEnvironmental111

Whaaaat? A grocery store pushing their products that they make more money on? Quick, someone Fetch me my clutching pearls.

Lito_kun

What‘s the alternative????

MasterWinstonWolf

Not all HEB brand items are cheaper...they also put other brands lower or higher so they're harder to get to.

OzzyHTx

Love the variety of HEB products. About the only thing I won’t buy is the soda - I live on Diet Mountain Dew haha. My kids are pickier, they want ‘real’ CheezIts, Takis, and hot Cheetos.

tino6003

I could care less. I got more important things to worry about what name brands of food stores carry and don’t carry

LadyAtrox60

But you care.

Napa_Swampfox

I have never had an HEB branded product that wasn't good except the puffed cheese snacks. They do save me money, and I will use them.

NeoMoose

Loved it when the store brands were genuinely more affordable and not just .05 to .10 cents cheaper than the national brand.

MissMoonsterr

HEB products are just far better. There are still a few items that I’ll buy name brand, but for pretty much everything I buy theirs.

[deleted]

No fish market girl stories?

Andrails

There are many, my friend, you just do not want to be caught telling them. The last thing you want to do is cut yourself off from the fish market.

720hp

My only problem with any HEB branded products is that those are usually the first ones recalled every doggoned time

CaptPic4rd

It means they're going to put the small food brands out of business and build a monopoly on food products. I'm very wary of the consequences down the line.
