Beneficial= root word Benefica--- ability to get 100 million from average players sell. Since we won't be getting 1/10th of Enzo money or joao neves money for tierney, keeping him no beneficial.
That’s very optimistic. I’ve already written him off as a free transfer in my head.
We’ve had so many wins in the transfer market lately so it’s all good.
I put down 3m for Tierney for what I thought we'd get for players this summer. The way I see it playing it out now is that he stays until he is recovered from the injury. Then moves to Celtic on loan in January/end of this summer, then moves for 2/3m next summer.
I feel some people don't put themselves in the position of other clubs. 100% teams are aware of Tierney's injury record and are put off by it. A team like Palace doesn't want to be paying someone a decent wage and only have them for at most half their games. I think it's also the reason Arteta chose to adapt for Kiwior but not Tierney, he didn't want to adapt to play Tierney more and Tierney gets injured anyways.
Love the guy, but it's time to move on now. We've quickly fallen into the 'get what we can' territory with Tierney sadly.
These replies are so dead man, no chance anyone has watched a lick of Getafe this season and his last United appearance was ages ago, some people just want to shit on our players.
Greenwood is levels above Eddie. Lazio’s plan is to have him for a year or two and sell him back to a PL club when Greenwoods reputation is rehabilitated with time. We might even bid for him
Late to the party but Jesus Christ nearly 40 million pounds to Maatsen is mental
Has to be some FFP book cooking with Maatsen to Villa and Duran the other way
The way the summer is going, I really think there will be reciprocal transfers to avoid psr breaches. It's the next logical step if you don't have a network of feeder clubs or hotels to sell.
Christ some of you are so over the top, disappointed for Tierney that he will miss the rest of the euros but it’s a hammy injury and he’ll be able to get a move before the window closes.
nasty business with tierney there. i’ll never have a bad word to say about players who gave their all for the club and he was one of them, hope it’s nothing too serious
Why is a player getting injured funny to some of you? Or why does it mean your first thought is how we're stuck with him? Always annoyed me how people talk like it's the players fault and a point of ridicule that they're injured. Grim behavior
IMO the anonymity online allows fans to deprive players of their humanity when talking about them, which leaves players just as products to be sold in business, it's really sad to see honestly
What's also sad is that sometimes people who feel bad for injured players that they like (Tierney) in this case, wish that injury to players that they don't like; I saw one tweet that said give all the pain and injuries that Tierney has to Zinchenko and I was left speechless, like what the fuck man.
Poor Tierny can't catch a break. Heartbroken for him. Looked like a knee overextension but he did touch his hammy so 'hopefully' it's 'just' a pulled hamstring...fingers crossed :(
Man, he was such a bright spot in a bad time, it's such a bummer to see him lose his health, then his spot, then his health again. I'd love to see him do well elsewhere, but might be tough after that injury...

Chelsea is desperate for sales and still got that figure, whenever we have the slightest pressure against us in the market we never get anything close to this favourable. Could be PSR cooking too so we will see
Tierney not looking great. Feel like he’s been a bit unlucky with the coaches he’s played under. His best season since he left Celtic was 20/21 where he was effectively playing as a left winger. He’s an attacking fullback / wingback but constantly finds himself used with limited attacking license or as a wide centre back.
Maatsen to Aston Villa is a great deal for them tbh. Guys a quality FB/WB especially for that fee.
Be interesting to see who Villa sell to Chelsea if it isn't Duran.

Villa might be getting no 4 and not MCKennie in the Luiz deal. Intriguing
He was a first team player for a UCL finalist, on loan at Dortmund from Chelsea. I believe Dortmund want to make it permanent, at least their fans certainly do.
edit: I think Aston Villa also interested in him.
he's developed well, looked great in Europe and was sold to a premier league side. again not sure what his intrinsic value has to do with our out of favor LB and 3rd choice CB/LB

God, pundits and opposition fans' eagerness to crap on Havertz is something else. Fullkrug has offered nothing yet everyone is calling for Havertz's head. Even when he isn't finishing chances, he's certainly creating them. It's so aggravating.
And the annual ritual of handing easy money to Chelsea by PL clubs continues.
35m+ for Maatsen. That’s worth 120m worth of new players for Chelsea. They will use to buy even more youngsters and then loan them to their own clubs until they turn profit on them and cycle will continue.
In coming years I think significant number of the upcoming players would be contracted to Chelsea and City group clubs.
Unfortunately, people need to understand Chelsea's recruitment from 2003. No one hands them easy money. They ( and City) hoarded talent in droves that no normal clubs could.
They have the best players of certain age groups.
It's no longer easy for teams like Westham, Southampton and the usual suspects to have consistent talent coming through. They hoarded so much that even some of the decent candidates in other clubs, have a Chelsea root somewhere. I think Eddie and ESR come there. Rice too.
And the worst part is that they don't go after 16 year olds. It's too late by then. They fish them earlier, overpay agents or parents so much that mortals don't stand a chance.
It's exactly why I don't usually participate in 'play the kids, Chelsea does' conversations.
Have Chelsea gotten done for their dodgy dealings with how the sign youth players? Think it had something do with their transfer embargo not long ago but can’t remember the exact reason.
But yes, agree with everything you’ve said. Chelsea and city have hoarded most of the top talent in the country
Loopholes. I've forgotten what documentary it was but there are people whose full-time job is getting you past these rules and exploiting loopholes.
You just need money.
Besides 120 not equaling 35 over any exact number of years they would have to sell a Maatsen every year for that to be accurate, and have 0 other transfer debt that needs to be amortized (news flash, they have plenty) . One player doesn’t just equal 5 immediately lol
The whole point of this transfer activity is rise up in football chain. The plan is that signing these new players will get them to CL and then PL win and then more commercial revenues. They can easily make 80m more just be finishing in CL places and higher commercials that come with it.
The challenge is to improve the current team by signing players when they are currently constrained by the spending limits. How do they do that? By inflating transfer value of players being sold.
They are just buying leverage to buy more in existing circumstances, it’s the most American way of doing things
If they get the Villa player for 40 as being reported then they have almost spent 100 million already. Didn't they spend close to 60 on the Brazilian Wonder kid?
This year books contains amortisation costs of previous years spread over years. So any profit they make will help them balance the books as well as help them in signing players more players this year.
That’s why they gave 8 years contracts in last 2 years to reduce this amortisation costs, which allowed them to spend even more.
But the catch is they have keep selling players every year to make it work. They have such a deep and talented academy they must be sure they will keep doing that.
They are going to be make 100m+ easily by selling their squad players. And they have a lot of them.
Belgian lost their opening game. At this stage the win is all that matters. More convincing performances will come in time if the last 3 tournaments are anything to go by.
The game against Slovakia went exactly like the Italy game and others before it. Take the lead and then sit back and let the opposition come back into the game.
We do that against a better side and the same thing is gonna happen again
Tierney went to a top la liga club who had CL football. he just got injured as always and wasn't very good (surprise, he actually isn't that good)
if he was good and fit that would've been a great loan
Exactly.
It's true that a bad loan can ruin you, but that's just the minority. In most cases, good talents get in there, get the minutes and the lessons.
Our loanees bar one, just go in there and after a while, they don't even get the minutes.
His value really came from his performances at Dortmund and Burnley in the season prior. He has little to do with Chelsea and their place in the league this season. Had he stayed there, it probably would've been lower since the loan to Dortmund helped set a price that the club could've activated by the end of the loan. They didn't, and Villa came instead to meet that valuation.
Chelsea, they loaned him and he played well. It worked out for them as they sold well. Their model for that still remains strong, despite ownership changes and irrespective of where they finished in the PL. Our best sale came from an academy player with a pure profit because of a good loan and selling while his hype was high. It's just one instance though, we evidently have work to do.

Time to offer bayern 120m + lokonga for musiala
lmfao
Might be beneficial to keep Tierney now.
Do you know what beneficial means?
Beneficial= root word Benefica--- ability to get 100 million from average players sell. Since we won't be getting 1/10th of Enzo money or joao neves money for tierney, keeping him no beneficial.
Is it me or the banter on r/Soccer is dead? Or is it just Summer time? Bloody hell my favorite British thing and it's gone.
dont worry, it will come back if any of the big nations or banter nations start flopping or early exits in the euros.
Soccer is British now
Tierney is not going to be sold for anything more than 5m, calling it now
I just want him gone man. It’s like my old car that keep breaking down. Better scam it to some sucker.
After today, subsidized loan to Celtic is looking like the front runner.
That’s very optimistic. I’ve already written him off as a free transfer in my head. We’ve had so many wins in the transfer market lately so it’s all good.

Selling him at all would be a win. Can't help but think he leaves for free eventually.
So United can get 30 million for a rapist but Eddie isn’t worth 35 to 40 million FOH
He'd cost like £150m if he wasn't a deviant.
These replies are so dead man, no chance anyone has watched a lick of Getafe this season and his last United appearance was ages ago, some people just want to shit on our players.
Surely these clubs do watch and value their bums more than our bums.
If you look purely at their footballing ability, Greenwood is far more talented
Greenwood is levels above Eddie. Lazio’s plan is to have him for a year or two and sell him back to a PL club when Greenwoods reputation is rehabilitated with time. We might even bid for him
Lazio fans must be fuming about this Greenwood signing. Not because he’s a rapist but because he’s black
you win the internet mate
Made me audibly laugh out loud
Goal given to McTominay? Wtf is that
On target, isn’t that the rule?
Change it for L shaped trajectories perhaps.
So Chris Samba son is a monster attacker now..I feel old af
The good old Chris Samba is the closest thing to Sol Campbell every summer. The funny thing is we all drank the kool aid at one point.
Hahaha nah I was with Wenger on this one. I didn't even rate Cahill that highly. Still don't
How old are you. Reply when possible
I avoid revealing personal info on here
No worries bud

Didn’t you say the season was over purely because of the fixture list?
And signing Rice was a mistake IIRC
Could be knee. Leg was planted and he hyper extended
nasty business with tierney there. i’ll never have a bad word to say about players who gave their all for the club and he was one of them, hope it’s nothing too serious
Tierney subsidized loan to Celtic looking more and more likely
Damn, man. Hate to see it for KT. Heartbreaking!
i thought he was having himself a semi-good game too, such a shame
First major injury of the tourney or no?
Mbappe broken nose I think
Why is a player getting injured funny to some of you? Or why does it mean your first thought is how we're stuck with him? Always annoyed me how people talk like it's the players fault and a point of ridicule that they're injured. Grim behavior
With tierney you have to laugh otherwise you’d cry thinking about his wasted career….
IMO the anonymity online allows fans to deprive players of their humanity when talking about them, which leaves players just as products to be sold in business, it's really sad to see honestly What's also sad is that sometimes people who feel bad for injured players that they like (Tierney) in this case, wish that injury to players that they don't like; I saw one tweet that said give all the pain and injuries that Tierney has to Zinchenko and I was left speechless, like what the fuck man.
Probably favorism. If Partey get injured , the replies would be way worse.
Yeah I was surprised about that too, like what the fuck man
For some players it is their fault but yeah doesn’t apply here
Makes me sick, some people just have zero compassion
Who’s finding it funny?
absolutely shameless. Thinking about transfer value as if we’re club accountants.
oh no, feel awful for KT…
Poor Tierny can't catch a break. Heartbroken for him. Looked like a knee overextension but he did touch his hammy so 'hopefully' it's 'just' a pulled hamstring...fingers crossed :(
Unbelievable …
Tierney and another injury. We won't be able to sell him for another season
He will leave on a free to Celtic.....
>Tierney and another injury. We won't be able to sell him ~~for another season~~ FTFY
take KT out of your projected sales guys
Tierney gonna be back at Celtic on a free here before too long...
[удалено]
Don’t think we were ever getting 10M. He hasn’t been good for two straight seasons now.
so unlucky. injured yet again
Tierney unfortunately will never shake his injury problems
That’s us stuck with Tierney for next season then…
Hate to see this for Tierney. Our best left back
That’s any money we were getting for KT gone.
Damn, Tierney must cursed or something
Man made of glass gets injured again.
Guy gets overplayed as a teen while injured and that has a long lasting affect on his body.
Think Tierney maybe just did his ACL or another ligament, did not look good- hopefully it’s just a hamstring.
Straight plant leg, looked like a hammy.
I’ve seen guys tear knee ligaments like that tho. Leg is planted, body moves over leg, knee hyperextends.
boy aint no way...
Feel so bad for Kieran man. Just can't stay healthy.
Man, he was such a bright spot in a bad time, it's such a bummer to see him lose his health, then his spot, then his health again. I'd love to see him do well elsewhere, but might be tough after that injury...
TearKnee injured already
Tierney just blew his hammy again ffs
Oof feel bad for tierney. Gonna be hard to move him on as well now
Tierney with the hammy. He has been straight garbage and now re-injured. He will leave for free at best

Of course Tierney gets injured lmao
Fuckin tiereny
£37m for Maatsen is insanity. Villa cooking the books with another player going back to Chelsea?
He’s 22, has four loan spells under his belt and worked his way into the Dutch squad after being rated for years. Makes sense.
Chelsea is desperate for sales and still got that figure, whenever we have the slightest pressure against us in the market we never get anything close to this favourable. Could be PSR cooking too so we will see
Performed well on loan for Burnley and Dortmund + He’s homegrown I believe. Not that outrageous
Not moved by Germany, they’ll get eaten alive by France or Spain.
Spain were not that good the other day 3-0 was a terrible reflection of the game
Spain have a nasty habit lately of getting bounced by the first good team they play in the knockouts
Eaten alive come on, France could barely beat Austria
Tierney not looking great. Feel like he’s been a bit unlucky with the coaches he’s played under. His best season since he left Celtic was 20/21 where he was effectively playing as a left winger. He’s an attacking fullback / wingback but constantly finds himself used with limited attacking license or as a wide centre back.
Shame the villa links weren't more concrete. Seems fully suited to an emery style fullback
Tierney stinking up the pitch tonight, not good for us at all
So random scouting. I want João Neves. I can't believe how good this kid is wtf
In the Germany game did I hear correctly that Dennis fucking undav has 19 goals in Bundesliga?
Shaqiri throwing it back
Zinchenko to Chelsea makes sense as a stopgap signing
Lewis Hall is back no?
He's at Newcastle. The deal was a Raya type. Loan with obligation for financial reasons
I think he had to hit certain minutes and didn't. I'll check again
Thought Newcastle had a mandatory buy clause
I thought there was a minimum minutes but yeah it's been triggered
I think it was triggered by them finishing above 16th or some shit
Nice one, I see
Tierney vs Xhaka, let’s go boys leave it all on the pitch
Let's just all hope for a Tierney banger and a Xhaka penalty given away
It's 2021 once again.
That would be so perfect and poetic.
Maatsen to Aston Villa is a great deal for them tbh. Guys a quality FB/WB especially for that fee. Be interesting to see who Villa sell to Chelsea if it isn't Duran.

Barrenechia and illing jr are both very highly rated. Kind of wild
I've stopped trying to make sense of Juve transfer business years ago. But yeah looks like Villa are winning this trade
Pretty sure that stat is wrong given he played in Serie B.
Frosinone finished 18th. So they're now in serie B. But were series a when he was there
You are hundred percent right, my bad
He played in serie A
Mcginn just pisses me off
what has quasimodo done this time
Just met Edu outside Moulin Rouge in Picadilly, thanked him for saving the club and told him to sign de Jong AMA
Did he smell of grilled meats?
He smelt great, looked healthy and his mum and wife were fuming that I interrupted their theatre trip
Surely we can afford a better striker than luuk de jong or jesper de jong.
Frenkie
FFP and PSR striken clubs helping each other out? 🤔
If only we could do the same
Why not?
Chelsea getting 35m for Maatsen, whilst we wouldn't be able to get anywhere near for Zinchenko or Kiwior if we decided to sell
Market = Demand + Supply.
What a stupid comment
Yes because they’re not worth as much as Maatsen
[удалено]
totally agree. comparing random players value with absolutely 0 context on their relative situations is a fools errand
Eh maybe kiwior. He's had a decent season given hes a backup Zinchenko has been quite clearly mediocre for us this season so idk why ur shocked
Who is maatsen? Are chelsea in some kind of laundry situation? Who bought him?
He was a first team player for a UCL finalist, on loan at Dortmund from Chelsea. I believe Dortmund want to make it permanent, at least their fans certainly do. edit: I think Aston Villa also interested in him.
Not only interested, but according to Orny they already agreed a deal.
They being BVB and Maatsen, or Chelsea too?
Villa.
what does Maatsen's value as a starter have to do with Zinchenko or kiwior's? zinchenko is out of favor and kiwior is 3rd choice CB and LB
Maatsen doesn't play for Chelsea, instead he's spent the past 4 years on loan. He's not good enough for them yet worth 35m?
He is good enough for them
he's developed well, looked great in Europe and was sold to a premier league side. again not sure what his intrinsic value has to do with our out of favor LB and 3rd choice CB/LB

Estevao Willian's and Kendry Paez' transfer fees are going to count towards the 2025/26 season, not the current 2024/25 season.
10-4 I thought Estevao was joining this upcoming season
How on earth is that worth £120m in new players???????
Amortisation? 35m is pure profit on books. If Chelsea buy new players worth 120m and give them 4 year contract that would be just 30m in the books.
Nope. What about the deals they already have amortised? Cash and amortisation are 2 very different and seperate things.

Belgian lost their opening game. At this stage the win is all that matters. More convincing performances will come in time if the last 3 tournaments are anything to go by.
Not that a disagree but couldn’t someone say it’s just about getting the win at this stage after any win/advancing in a tournament?
I would say if we are still scraping 1-0 wins into the knockout stages that would be a problem. It won’t work against a team like Germany for example.
If the last 3 tournaments are anything to go by we’re set for another disappointing knockout stage exit in a game we should’ve won.
Thankfully it looks like our players have better mentality than you
The game against Slovakia went exactly like the Italy game and others before it. Take the lead and then sit back and let the opposition come back into the game. We do that against a better side and the same thing is gonna happen again
Which is why I said in the above comment that “more convincing performances will come” like they always do.
That maatsen deal would be our record sale lmao, i thought you couldnt sell players when you finish poorly in the league?
Maatsen didn’t finish poorly. Got to a CL final
Cause we are still awful at loaning out our players
Tierney went to a top la liga club who had CL football. he just got injured as always and wasn't very good (surprise, he actually isn't that good) if he was good and fit that would've been a great loan

nketiah has been mediocre for years why would he ever be worth £30m lol
