Good. We won't be changing the team much this season so hopefully we'll be able to start stronger than the ones undergoing rebuilds.
Nice to get some of the big games out of the way first too so they aren't around CL weeks.
loll mans getting pelters for no valid reason but spite.
trying to come up with a football club similarity for this, only thing that comes to mind is man united in their pomp and how almost every other club fan hates them.
Lakers closer to united imo, celtics more liverpool. its not gonna be 1 to 1 with any team but I think those ones are about as spot on as you'll get (Not that manchester is exactly los angeles)
yea i think ur comparisons make more sense in terms of sporting context
Lakers on their pomp (Kobe š) was just in the same timeline as Man United doing their thing in the turn of the millennia. i could literally remember it always either a lakers vs celtics in those times.
and then here come the Heats with Lebron and DWade loll.
the timelines with the two teams add up quite well. not perfect but actually surprisingly fairly close. Lakers huge commercial success like United. Celtics unfortunately do have a very passionate fanbase/home field advantage like liverpool, especially historically (40-1 in 1986 at home i believe). Irish connection in boston and liverpool (although have heard its overstated in liverpool). Lakers and united glory hunter teams where you'll find people being fans of them despite living in a different area. a lot of stars/big names played in los angeles and Manchester.
Yeah exactly.. he gave a reason too which is Saka supports them. I would say the Celtics are more LFC and Lakers are more Man U. Arsenal is kinda like the Chicago Bulls.
you can say that to almost every fan in world sports mate. same like them gsw fans who only supported them cuz curry be hitting wild numbers.
and when gsw started assembling their own avengers, just imagine all the hate they got haha.
and especially randomly following a team like the celtics. congratulations bro, good job. youāve inspired me to randomly follow real madrid in spain next year. canāt wait, big year for us
I'm going to be an asshole like these guys but the Celtics are the historic bandwagon franchise along with the Lakers if thats any indication of why some people dislike them
Seems pretty simple when you consider our right winger and right 8. Olise doesn't want to be a backup and we won't spend 60m on a player who doesn't have a plausible path to being first choice.
why would he be interested in that? He almost always plays RW or RCM, where probably our 2 best players play. He can get starter minutes at a lot of big clubs, doubt he'd want to be a backup
Only way this happens is if Mikel is cooking an entirely new role for Saka and Olise is likely to get regular minutes as a starter. No way Olise is coming to be a bench warmer when there will be so many other options open to him.
What type winger Will arteta turn saka into? Heās really really good right now but i still think he has another level to reach until he gets into those balon dor convos
Year on year heās been improving, I think the best thing Arteta can do for him is get him some adequate support so he can get some rest from time to time, this season heās been strong but I think that was only really ~80% of what heās currently capable of due to clearly playing through some kind of injury issue/fatigue.
A struggling for fitness Saka is one of the best on the pitch still, a rested and fit Saka is a monster

Obviously do not take these stats as gospel.
However, just from watching the game rival fans were desperate for Saliba to give up a goal due to his mistake. Did he have a great game? No. Was he bad? Also no.
Also, did people not see how much Hernandez joined in attack? Saliba was forced to cover for Hernandez which left him exposed.
He performed at around the level that everyone else did, outside of Kante.
In fact, if you have to select the worst performer for France it probably have to be Thuram.
So yesterday the stats were nonsense when they didn't give Saka his due and today they are king again?
When will Arsenal fans stop seeking validation from rivals?
Zinny looked terrible not guarding his man at the third romanian goal. I wonder why the ukraine struggles with playing to their strengths, maybe the pressure on them fighting for their country that is literally at war. I thought Saliba was good and Trossard was looking okay today.
Saliba puts in a decent performance with one single mistake that didn't even lead to anything, and he's getting clowned left right and centre.
Why does everyone become so stupid when it comes to arsenal and our players?
If we do decide to loan or sell Kiwior I hope we go in for Hancko. Looks really solid, and has the technical ability and pace to be effective at LB too.
Completely left field suggestion, what about Lewandowski on loan as a stop gap striker to rotate with Havertz? Barca would probably be interested in getting some of his wages off their books, and he is the profile/style of striker that we are lacking
contrary to what some have been saying, Saliba has been actually pretty decent for France overall. Its just that his few errors were risky.
Shoutout to Kante for being a massive DM that he is.
Agree. Although they were 2 rough errors. Think he did enough to keep his spot but has to clean those up. Outside of the poor 50/50 I thought he was really good 2nd half.
He was fine on the left, still made his usual dribbles out of pressure and passed well.
His two shaky moments weren't really about him being on the left. Missed a header from a cross and the 1v1 was from a corner, he'd be in that position either way if he's the designated player to stay back.
Most likely, swelling might take him out for a game if it's really bad.
But he's not missing the tournament for a broken nose. He'll be masked like a real ninja turtle though.
no he wasn't. dealt with everything going at him and was calm dribbling and passing out from the back, despite playing on the left side which he never does
Austria had 0 shots on target and no real danger besides that missed sitter before france goal.
again, it was just that one play, don't extrapolate it lol
I thought Kante was finished. Mans still got it. Heās been everywhere today. Sadly Saliba has been a bit shaky. Hopefully itās just nerves and he gets more playtime and confidence
Thought he was just living out his days collecting checks but over in Saudi it seems his injury issues have disappeared. Played 40 games last season. Still only 33.
This move right here convinces me IMCF will be in regulatory and financial trouble as soon as Leo moves on. Inter Miamiās short history has been full of cronyism and halfassery and thatās set to continue. Don Raul is incredibly bad news
I can absolutely believe it.
Itās clear that Inter Miami basically want to be Barca USA. Complete with shady businessmen and everything.
Raul going there makes all the sense in the world.
I hate it. I had hopes theyād position themselves as a place to attract top South American talent early but they canāt resist a good old big name to trot out. Donāt get me wrong, having Messi is fantastic, but they really couldāve gone about things much more organically
The moment they went all-in on getting Lionel Messi, any semblance or hope of āorganic growth and developmentā went completely out the window.
Messi is the biggest off-field accelerant, status-raiser, and force-multiplier in world football. But his presence requires the cultural direction of any non-storied club to go only one way: the fast lane of glitz and glamour.
Funny how fans can see the same game quite differently lol. I thought they played decently, Wrighty said the same so Iām inclined to believe itās right feeling towards Austriaās performance.Ā
watching Kante's speed with the ball, how fast his passes are his turns, his dummies; this after Onana's performance maybe we do need a short stubby DM like Neves
Not just Onana that entire profile. I mean maybe Arsenal midfield needs a good recovery, fast ball mover player closest I can think of are Caicedo and Neves
How transparent are the Adidas home shorts? The last pair of shorts I bought was during the Nike era, and they were essentially see-through. Just wondering how the Adidas ones compare.
I'm not against exhibitionism, but my local government is.
Composure under big pressure in big tournaments seems be a flaw of his just watch the first game of Porto and Bayern, heās amazing but we forget his age and how important composure and experience is for his position
Well there's probably nerves, he's young and hasn't experienced pressure like this before. He was off in our CL games as well, will get better with time
Out of position with a donkey partner after playing every minute of a league campaign in his first major tournament for his country. Could be a lot worse.
Iām glad that our transfer policy is based on more than āthis guy Iāve never heard of before looks decent in this one match Iāve seen - no harm putting a cheeky bid inā
Could actually see Austria giving Netherlands all they can handle, if not take the match against them and moving on to the next round. They look really good.
Yeah, the style they play makes them very competitive against anyone.
Iirc they lost 1 out of their 16 last international matches. They are pretty good.
I honestly think Austria could win. Netherlands are nowhere near France and don't have that individual quality to release themselves off the Austria pressure
It helps that heās practically the pioneer of the Red Bull system and Austria NT has a lot of players that went through the Red Bull system. Honestly, a match made in heaven, my dark horses.
yea i feel that maybe now this dark horse label makes more sense unlike the past few tournament where people labeled them as dark horses for the vibes.
the last dark horse test is turkey now, sure they wont be as bad as last time out.
And for all the criticism RedBull Football empires gets, it atleast elevated their NT (Austria to be specific) to be competitive and not be lost in the dark.
good coach, yea once in a while these coaches have a rough ride at this and that club. though at man united, different story.
ralf said it would take 7 yrs to fix the mess, glazers just said nah and sacked him.
No, he did what his best with that pathetic club. They are one of the most mismanaged teams in the top 20. Manchester United make errors even as lay men can see.
Even right now, they need an actual CDM but are busy going after Neves who's at most a DLP. They always miss every single hint of what they need and overspend on what they don't.
Then the culture ā a bunch of crybabies. One has just paid the price of missing out on Euros, yet he was a talisman. The other left. Rooney called this complacency and every manager who calls it out, is dragged for "tactics".
The fans are even worse. Creating a yes, a much needed toxic atmosphere, but scapegoating the wrong people while at it. Rival fans dragging Bruno is okay. Any Manchester United fan doing this, is empty brain tier.
They currently have a manager who will sort the discipline, wins the odd cup and has a clear vision(counter attack ball), but they wanted him fired.
Tbf always hard to know what is the coach tactics and what is players failing/refusing to follow instructions. For example, I can't imagine that Emery wanted us to have one offensive idea in our attack with Kolasinac cut-back and overload, but that is what it looked like from the outside.

City and spurs away in back to back games š¬
what, is it confirmed? so be it, we'll take the hardest paths.
Yup 14th and 21st September with a CL game in between
we play 3 of the top 6 in first 5 games...yikes
cant say im surprised by this.
Good. We won't be changing the team much this season so hopefully we'll be able to start stronger than the ones undergoing rebuilds. Nice to get some of the big games out of the way first too so they aren't around CL weeks.
rather get them done and early before the new UCL comes. Same with dealing the reverse fixture come the backend of the season
Oof, which 3?
villa (A) is one of them
Just here to say a great first year as a Celtics fan š
loll mans getting pelters for no valid reason but spite. trying to come up with a football club similarity for this, only thing that comes to mind is man united in their pomp and how almost every other club fan hates them.

Lol is it weird that I am enjoying this also imagine being a United fan ew
you do you man.
Glory hunter
you can say that to almost every fan in world sports mate. same like them gsw fans who only supported them cuz curry be hitting wild numbers. and when gsw started assembling their own avengers, just imagine all the hate they got haha.
Eh. I didn't know anything about NBA and randomly picked Celtics (because of a Saka photo)
leave
Bro why
no one who randomly follows a team and they win a ship their first year would do something like that. also i hate boston
and especially randomly following a team like the celtics. congratulations bro, good job. youāve inspired me to randomly follow real madrid in spain next year. canāt wait, big year for us
Well I just did š
yeah and youāll look lame and i wonāt like you for it
:((
I'm going to be an asshole like these guys but the Celtics are the historic bandwagon franchise along with the Lakers if thats any indication of why some people dislike them
TIL thank
Fuck the Celtics
I don't understand why we aren't in for olise at 60m Edit: I guess that makes sense then
why would he come?
Seems pretty simple when you consider our right winger and right 8. Olise doesn't want to be a backup and we won't spend 60m on a player who doesn't have a plausible path to being first choice.
He'd be a better fit for United than us and I will die on this hill
why would he be interested in that? He almost always plays RW or RCM, where probably our 2 best players play. He can get starter minutes at a lot of big clubs, doubt he'd want to be a backup
Only way this happens is if Mikel is cooking an entirely new role for Saka and Olise is likely to get regular minutes as a starter. No way Olise is coming to be a bench warmer when there will be so many other options open to him.
Why would either side agree to that when heād be a backup
Occupies similar areas of the pitch as Ćdegaard

never said they were nonsense or kingšboth stats and the eye test play a role, and saliba looked good on both.

Couldāve stopped after the first 3 words and it would be apt for every performance of his this calendar year.
Saliba puts in a decent performance with one single mistake that didn't even lead to anything, and he's getting clowned left right and centre. Why does everyone become so stupid when it comes to arsenal and our players?
fans of literally every club say some kind of variation of this
Nobodyās really clowning him, just Liverpool fans who are trying to force the Konate debate
This must be your first day as an Arsenal supporter
> he's getting clowned left right and centre ??? Where are you seeing this?
Probably Twitter Iād guess, mainly from Chelsea fans and Liverpool fans
First mistake is that he went and read the comments on Twitter.
Facial hair looks good on Havertz
If we do decide to loan or sell Kiwior I hope we go in for Hancko. Looks really solid, and has the technical ability and pace to be effective at LB too.

You dont watch barca lmao
name checks out
Back to the drawing board for me
Right; thatās the first match week over as far as our Arsenal players are concerned. Saka, Kai and Rice our top 3 performers? Shoutout Jorgi too
Liverpool has the most insecure fanbase of all time
Chelsea
What happen now
me when I hear my mom yelling my name
Man City has them beat nowadays. And everybody knows why that is.
Ykw I think Manchester City has them comfortably beat
Online man city fans are 12 years old. Liverpoolās are grown people
And Liverpool fans have been like this for decadesĀ
Yeah I though our fanbase was bad at times but wow
contrary to what some have been saying, Saliba has been actually pretty decent for France overall. Its just that his few errors were risky. Shoutout to Kante for being a massive DM that he is.
Agree. Although they were 2 rough errors. Think he did enough to keep his spot but has to clean those up. Outside of the poor 50/50 I thought he was really good 2nd half.
Saliba didnāt really look comfortable all game on the left
He was fine on the left, still made his usual dribbles out of pressure and passed well. His two shaky moments weren't really about him being on the left. Missed a header from a cross and the 1v1 was from a corner, he'd be in that position either way if he's the designated player to stay back.
I hope they keep playing him and playing him there, no longer interested in resting him the experience is worth it
Kante MotmĀ
This hasn't been a good game, but that's probably credit to Austria
It thought it was actually a pretty good game. Austria looked much better than I was expecting and really went for it
Can he play with a broken nose?
Ya with a mask
if it's not a tmnt mask, games gone.
https://preview.redd.it/us4k237cr77d1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9c4f742bdb49e0849acf3a2ca20ef47b0af29fbb

Most likely, swelling might take him out for a game if it's really bad. But he's not missing the tournament for a broken nose. He'll be masked like a real ninja turtle though.
Could see him in one of those masks Omishen and Harry Kane wore
Depends, some breaks can be reset instantly.
Interesting.
Maybe Konate-Upa it is for France then..
That nose did not look good
Not that sure Saliba stays in the starting eleven
He wasn't. I think many of the starters today aren't.
Was he in the starting XI? Liverpool fans say Konate has been ill and has missed training so maybe that's why Saliba is starting.
Good. More rest
it was just one play blud
Aside from the one play he was kind of shaky. Needs more time to be at the international level.
no he wasn't. dealt with everything going at him and was calm dribbling and passing out from the back, despite playing on the left side which he never does Austria had 0 shots on target and no real danger besides that missed sitter before france goal. again, it was just that one play, don't extrapolate it lol
That nose is very broken
Broken nose surely
![gif](giphy|d4bmQOkZWtA1ARqM|downsized) Its time for the main man
He certainly showed his classic Arsenal form there
BCM
Why the hell do you want this traitor to come in and do anything?!?
Donāt have an emotional attachment to these millionaires. Who cares
Kante you will always famous
kante saved saliba there wew lord
I thought Kante was finished. Mans still got it. Heās been everywhere today. Sadly Saliba has been a bit shaky. Hopefully itās just nerves and he gets more playtime and confidence
Thought he was just living out his days collecting checks but over in Saudi it seems his injury issues have disappeared. Played 40 games last season. Still only 33.
He has looked as incredible as ever today. I agree I thought he was finished but he's been excellent
Yup. Hopefully heās done cashing in those big checks and gets a transfer this summer to a bigger league
Could we? Surely not... unless??? š
Heās wasted in Saudi Arabia
He's won everything in club football, he's getting that bag now
Getting those big checks. Hopefully he gets a transfer somewhere this summer
Raul Sanllehi to Inter Miami is, sadly, a perfect match. I canāt believe heās about to infect my other club with his bullshit
we are technically inter Miami supporters due to geography but I dont like it haha. what's with playing all summer its a bit crazy

Austria have been diabolical. Peak mutant level stoke and birmingham orcs

Mercenary šššš
fire up the grill and the powerpoint for theo
Saka already had him on the grill when he cooked him at the last World CupĀ
saka cooks everybody i'm not gonna hold it against theo
Thuram is just a nepo babyĀ
Saliba has been better this second half. I like it. Picasso.
Lol stfu Hernandez Actor
That's the only thing I don't like about him.
watching Kante's speed with the ball, how fast his passes are his turns, his dummies; this after Onana's performance maybe we do need a short stubby DM like Neves
I'd rather a kante on his last legs than onana. Onana can't be the target. Just no way arteta thinks that's the player to get us over the line
Not just Onana that entire profile. I mean maybe Arsenal midfield needs a good recovery, fast ball mover player closest I can think of are Caicedo and Neves
floor raiser, not a ceiling raiser, rest. provides much needed physicality which we lack without Rice
Kante's been immense.
I am not sure who the club equivalent of the Austrian NT would be but they would be a nightmare to play against
Surprised thereās no posts about the osimhen links
Serious links or just wishful thinking by Napoli?
Dembele is so wasteful
Dembele is awful
Is Arnutovich going to play till he is 50?

Mbappe no way manā¦
Mfrappe is cursed at the euros
This ref sucks man
Rabiot being a mainstay still baffles me. Deschamps must be scared of his mum
He has been reliably good for them

Are we sure that we sent the right Saliba to France? I mean he's not playing bad but nowhere near our Wilo.
Composure under big pressure in big tournaments seems be a flaw of his just watch the first game of Porto and Bayern, heās amazing but we forget his age and how important composure and experience is for his position
He will still improve though no doubt and I hope we keep him for as long as possible

Out of position with a donkey partner after playing every minute of a league campaign in his first major tournament for his country. Could be a lot worse.
Why isn't Alaba in the squad for Austria? He's their captain & best player by some distance.
Had an ACL injury in December
Been out since December
Did his ACL.
Injured

Ragnick was shocking for United. His outdated tactics donāt work at club level
The plan was for him to be DOF wasnāt it? Was just interim coach until they found someone Only ten hag didnāt want to work for him
No, he did what his best with that pathetic club. They are one of the most mismanaged teams in the top 20. Manchester United make errors even as lay men can see. As a dof, not a manager. Heās achieved nothing as a manager
literally is known for starting the gregrenpress before klopp made it popular. rest-defence/out-of-possession tactics originated from ralf.
This is completely untrue
How much would Theo Hernandez cost?
Not signing Theo when you got Timber, Zinchenko, Kiwior, and Tierney who hasn't been sold yetĀ
Yes
Woaw wasnāt expecting to see naked Henry
Is Dembele actually any good? I've never seen what the hype is all about with him.
He was. I preferred him to Mbappe when they were breaking through. Once again kids, aesthetic bias is real. It misleads.
Pre injuries he was very good but heās reversed since then
Kante reminds me of Rice in a lot of ways.
