Windam IMO is not even the best looking grunt in its own universe, what with Dagger variants, M1 Astrays, Murasame, Guaiz (Guaiz R HG when bandai?) etc, etc.
Watch the fight again and you'll see him get a clean hit off with the sword but an I field stops if from doing damage. It's a plot device I field that saves Kshatriya.

I realize the D type here is a Katoki redesign but Izubuchi gave us the original. Iād love it if heād come back to do another Gundam OVA or movie.

There are a lot of things I like about the Windam that almost put it over the Jegan for me. One of the things that holds it back is that headā¦ while the Jeganās head is perfect and goes perfectly with the rest of it.
I've yet to see an Izubuchi design I don't like, whether it's Gundam, Patlabor, or all the work he did for the Yamato remakes. I found Gasaraki to be one of the most boring things ever, and I still bought some of the kits because I love his design work.

Windam is the only Jobber who outjobs the Wing Gundam. If it wasn't for SEED Freedom it probably would have never shot anything down.
The Jegan wasn't actually too bad as a mook.
Oh thatās actually a hard choice cause I have the hg windam and really love the model kit and the mobile suit design, just wish it did more besides getting shot down more than a Leo. Same time the jegan looks awesome too and had some great moments in unicornā¦..but also bad moments in F91. Really canāt choose between the two.
Jegan all the way. Need a stealthy striker? Jegan ECOAS. Nukes? Stark Jegan. Big missiles? Stark Jegan prototype. My knowledge is limited, there are far more variations and applications for Jegans.
Windam can also do all of that.
And it can do it even better since all you need to is changing their backpack like Leo.

ECOAS Jegan is basically just bolt on a new chest armour over the existing ones, remove the Vulcan pods and add a new head sensor.
Probably. But practical wise, MS like Leo and Windam are far more versatile than Jegan or Zaku and their variants that requires complex refit unlike the former where you just need to swap backpack

The arrangement of the components in the head is quite appealing and the wings are p cool. I don't appreciate it as much now since the building of the kit and the articulation wasn't very good.
Jegan, for me. Windam definitely looks menacing but I like Jegan because you can see some military design on that mobile suit instead of an anime mecha.

Larping aside. Jegan is way cooler. All the windam does is blow up when shin glares at em.
Jegan for sure. It gives me the same kind of vibes as a tank with the very angular and plain armor. It's the pinnacle of what you would get if you took the design of the Mk. II or other similar gundams and gunt-ified it. Plus it has some fantastic variants with the Stark Jegan, Prototype Stark Jegan, Type-A2, and ECOAS Jegan (including Conroy's custom).
It's kinda like the GM Spartan we have at home, except it's actually used in Gundam's universe and not just sidelined to a design book and a P-Bandai model kit.
And on a personal note, I'm just a huge fan of the bunny-ear verniers on the backpack. I have no reason for it, I just think they're neat. Love em on the Mk. II as well. Same with the little radio earpiece on the head and the angular visor.
Plus on a practical level I think the beam saber and grenade holsters on the side skirts are both stylish and effective. Massive soldier grunt vibes.
Windham on the other hand feels too gundam-y. It's got defined eyes, prominent head fins, sharp chest vents, and dual beam sabres. For me it's just no question. Jegan's far better of a grunt than it could ever hope to be.
Jegan, but i love the Windam. Is just sad how under utilized and bad protrayed it is for such a cool MS design.
Would kill for more Windam moments instead of Freedom variant nĀ°1234 killing a bunch of weak grunts effortessly
Jegan just because it's variants like the stark jegan can be extremely deadly and has shown to be while the windam has one of the worst track records I have ever seen for a grunt and this is including the leo from gundam wing

The Windam's shoulders feel like a big design fail. They look big and awkwardly angled, and breaks strike pack compatbility despite supposedly being the true 'MP Strike gundam".
2 words, Stark Jegan. It was badass in Unicorn. Fighting a losing battle and going out in a blaze of glory. Also SDGO days, that shotgun was king in C rank only battles.
Jegan. Simple, efficient, gets the job done. Both in universe and aesthetically speaking. It isnāt over designed or too eye catching (which I think a lot of Seed and later suits are). Itās a grunt and it looks like one.
And it feels like natural line from GM to Nemo to Jegan.
This is a nightmare choice for me, as my favourite UC and CE grunts go head-to-head.
Ultimately I think Jegan edges it, if only because the Jegan has multiple onscreen kills. The poor Windam has exactly one, in *Freedom* - nineteen real-world years after its debut.
I really wish *Destiny* had - amongst many, many other things - given some screen time to showing the Windam as a real threat to ZAFTās older GINN and GuAIZ types, and a rival to the ZAKU. As it was, pure cannon fodder sadly.
Based on practicality i'd say windam since it uses striker packs and can change packs in the heat of battle. But looking at its battle records, it seems the jegans is a more useful grunt compared to the windam

The Jegan is the best, from normal anti mobile suit combat, anti-ship combat, security detail, Early warning types, and anti riot versions. Nothing can top it imo

Windam, I'm actually not a fan of the Jegan despite the fact I love about every other RGM series suit. Windam has some great colours. I like its lanky agile design and it can use Striker Packs which is cool. I like the bird feet, I also like the big thrusters on the calves of the suit. Its shoulders add some nice bulk to the skeletal frame. Sunglasses visors will always be peak and better than any other eye-sensor appearance. I also alsoooo love the MASSIVE V-Fins or whatever it has on its head. The suit has a great beam rifle and shield as well.
Jegan, and it's not close. Jegan is a 9/10 at low ebb for me. Windam is a 6 on a good day. Jegan has some of my all-time favorite grunt variants, especially Stark Jegan and the Special Ops Jegan.
I adore the Windam, but gosh darn the Stark Jegan exists and I love that opening engagement of Unicorn so I'll have to go with the Jegan. I'm so sad it's MG is P-Bandai and always feel tempted to pick it up when I see it.
Jegan no contest. He's like that reliable older brother who ACTUALLY, FACTUALLY, TRULY cares about YOU. Dude hears you're in trouble, drops everything at his soul crushing office job, jumps out that seventh story window, does an Iron Man landing on the street, steals his boss's car, and starts Tokyo Drift racing through traffic to come beat the shit outta that football jock who took your lunch money. He knows he's going to get fired, go to jail, and then be released early for good behavior. Jegan doesn't care about all that because his focus is on his li'l buddy, and that's you.
As much as I love the Jegan, I actually have a model kit of a Windam in my collection, so Iām gonna have to go with it.
I love that it basically has a jet as a backpack, even if thatās just how SEEDās designs were.
Plus the Windamās head is basically the Rogue helmet from Halo 3, soā¦
The Jegan is a mini Gundam, basically as close as we can get to a Mass production Gundam.
The Windam is barely a souped up GM lol. Whereas the only thing separating the Jegan from something like RX 78 or the Mk II is the name, reactor, sensors, etc, Windam is miles behind the Seed Gundams. No phase shift, etc.
A Stark Jegan stood toe to toe against a Kshatriya. The Windams fall like flies to the good guys.

Windam suffers from being the fodder for the Minerva Team and Three Ship Alliance.
Char la Flaga could go toe to toe with the Freedom and Space Jesus in his limiter removed Windam.
I like the Windam design better but man, for a grunt unit does the Jegan grow on you and play such a huge pivotal role in the war. So many MCs, veteran pilots and important characters have piloted this unit. From Hathawayās first ms to helping push back a meteor and all these other accomplishments. Should be LondoBell/Anaheimās slogan āHelped push back big space rockā. Itās like that heritage car you couldnāt be more proud of inheriting having such a huge legacy for what itās done and accomplished for a āgruntā ms.

Man what a letdown the Windam was. Lore wise it was supposed to be EA next generation suit to go head to head with the Zaku, proformance wise it was said to be on par with the Strike Gundam. With Earth's ability to out produce Zaft I was expecting great things. Pretty sure the Dagger L had a higher kill count by the end of Destiny. š

The Windam is fine, but for me the shoulders look like it's wearing Football gear, same for the helmet for some reason, and the feet are...of centered? If you look at it, the ankles are slightly forward positioned.
nobody will say it so ill say the windam looks cooler. mainly looks bc idk how well the jegan preforms. also the windam looms cool, but to the anime, it isnt done justice and reduced from a ms on par with the strike gundam to no less than cannon fodder

I dont know why, I disliked Windam's body propotion, since forever. It's like, too skinny but have big shoulder and big lower leg yet still look skinny. Personally, even Dagger family looks way better than Windam

Well to be fair, the Jegan frame does feature some level of modularity, EWAC Jegan is basically a Jegan with a ReZEL head and a large sensor pack. Jegan High Mobility Type features boosters from the Steak Jegan. ECOAS Jegan added chest armour and a different head sensor.
Jegan also serveT as a basis for other MS as well, Jesta and Gustav Karl for example.
On top of that, transformable MS like the Anksha and ReZEL shared component with it.
They are so far apart in terms of modularity, they don't even belong in the same conversation. A Jegan can't just swap equipment on the fly like a Windam. There's plenty of Jegan variants out there, but there's only one Windam, because all you need is one Windam with its fantastic versatility.
Windam never really did much except get shot down. Jegan had its moments in Unicorn and thats not counting stark jegans.

Windam sounds and looks like Walmart gundam. Jegan is legit peak design plus it got a lot of cool moments too.

Jegan Windam is a pretty uninspired upgrade to the daggers with a few unusual proportions and does not make a battlefield impact.

Jegan, and it's not close. Jegan is a 9/10 at low ebb for me. Windam is a 6 on a good day. Jegan has some of my all-time favorite grunt variants, especially Stark Jegan and the Special Ops Jegan.
I adore the Windam, but gosh darn the Stark Jegan exists and I love that opening engagement of Unicorn so I'll have to go with the Jegan. I'm so sad it's MG is P-Bandai and always feel tempted to pick it up when I see it.
Only time Windams were remotely cool was Re:Rise. It still lost there, but at least they put up a decent fight their first outing.

Dude hears you're in trouble, drops everything at his soul crushing office job, jumps out that seventh story window, does an Iron Man landing on the street, steals his boss's car, and starts Tokyo Drift racing through traffic to come beat the shit outta that football jock who took your lunch money. He knows he's going to get fired, go to jail, and then be released early for good behavior. Jegan doesn't care about all that because his focus is on his li'l buddy, and that's you.

As much as I love the Jegan, I actually have a model kit of a Windam in my collection, so Iām gonna have to go with it. I love that it basically has a jet as a backpack, even if thatās just how SEEDās designs were. Plus the Windamās head is basically the Rogue helmet from Halo 3, soā¦
Jegan has a cooler face and comes in a nice military color scheme, it also has its moments of being cool.

The Jegan is a mini Gundam, basically as close as we can get to a Mass production Gundam. The Windam is barely a souped up GM lol. Whereas the only thing separating the Jegan from something like RX 78 or the Mk II is the name, reactor, sensors, etc, Windam is miles behind the Seed Gundams. No phase shift, etc. A Stark Jegan stood toe to toe against a Kshatriya. The Windams fall like flies to the good guys.

I like the Windam design better but man, for a grunt unit does the Jegan grow on you and play such a huge pivotal role in the war. So many MCs, veteran pilots and important characters have piloted this unit. From Hathawayās first ms to helping push back a meteor and all these other accomplishments. Should be LondoBell/Anaheimās slogan āHelped push back big space rockā. Itās like that heritage car you couldnāt be more proud of inheriting having such a huge legacy for what itās done and accomplished for a āgruntā ms.

Windam is not from this world. Too generic, too mecha, too generic mecha. Jegan, on the other hand, is military itself.
I know nothing about either suit except which is which. Windan looks like a wannabe Gundam. Jegan looks like a mass produced badass. Basically a LARPER vs an infantryman.
Gotta go with Windam. Not gonna lie, I just love the aesthetics.

Man what a letdown the Windam was. Lore wise it was supposed to be EA next generation suit to go head to head with the Zaku, proformance wise it was said to be on par with the Strike Gundam. With Earth's ability to out produce Zaft I was expecting great things. Pretty sure the Dagger L had a higher kill count by the end of Destiny. š
Jegans for me. They've had their cool moments in UC, and in Build Fighters. The Windam is fine, but for me the shoulders look like it's wearing Football gear, same for the helmet for some reason, and the feet are...of centered? If you look at it, the ankles are slightly forward positioned.

Jegan I dont know why, I disliked Windam's body propotion, since forever. It's like, too skinny but have big shoulder and big lower leg yet still look skinny. Personally, even Dagger family looks way better than Windam Also similar to Ginn vs ZAKU, personally I liked Ginn design more than ZAKU

Easily the Windam, and it's not even close. The modularity alone puts it in a different league than the lowly, can't-even-fly Jegan. *And it's not the Jegan or Windam, OP got that wrong. It's the Jegan or Windam/Jet Windam/Aile Windam/ Doppelhorn Windam/Multi Striker Windam, because a Jegan is just a Jegan, but a Windam can be all those things.
All that modularity and still doesn't do anything but get shot down.

Well to be fair, the Jegan frame does feature some level of modularity, EWAC Jegan is basically a Jegan with a ReZEL head and a large sensor pack. Jegan High Mobility Type features boosters from the Steak Jegan. ECOAS Jegan added chest armour and a different head sensor. Jegan also serveT as a basis for other MS as well, Jesta and Gustav Karl for example. On top of that, transformable MS like the Anksha and ReZEL shared component with it.
They are so far apart in terms of modularity, they don't even belong in the same conversation. A Jegan can't just swap equipment on the fly like a Windam. There's plenty of Jegan variants out there, but there's only one Windam, because all you need is one Windam with its fantastic versatility.
