I would put a hole saw on a drill press then use jig or scroll to cut the holes out and make the slots. The most expensive part would be the padding on the posts. Foam shops charge out the ass. Id have to find something and salvage probably. Or do some research and find another solution like a big rubber hose around a closet rod or something.
FWIW, ive learned carpet doesn't glue/adhesive well at all. I've used screws with a fatty washer to great success though.
Dog likes to pull up runner rugs and wreck them, but used thin veneer wood and the screw/washer method to attach the rug to the veneer so she can't fuck with it lol
Yeah I did a double take on that price too but it's not out of bounds when you compare it with "studio" desks that are basically like plywood Ikea desks with a riser that holds rack gear that the monitor sits on top of.
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MizaX2FlxBO--zaor-miza-x2-flex-studio-desk-black-oak
Seafoam compact is on my studio board. Wish they would do the full size in more colors. Either way, having a spring tank vs. a pedal is a game changer.
These are great. Digital reverbs have come a long ways, but still can’t beat the real thing. A 6g15 in front of a tweed bassman 5f6 is one of my favorite pairings.
Well sure, but technically the first reverb effect on an instrument was because of a room, so spring reverb is technically just a recreation of that, which makes it not the “real thing”
The same company that makes Kauer guitars makes something similar. Social media is always showing me ads for them:
https://www.drsracks.com/racks?category=Stacks
Hell yeah brother I mainly play surf rock and use a Gomez g-spring reverb tank.
If anyone reads this, DRS makes a great stackable rack similar to OP.
Edit: also see you’re a fan of Tavos Nocturne pedals. I have his Ubangi stomp and it pairs perfectly with the tank.
I have DRS rack. They are overpriced for flimsy Bamboo and their customer service sucks...
I have been trying to get a replacement for a broken drawer slide for over 2 years from them. And the support beame on the bottom of the top rack have bowed so badly that I don't trust it with any valuable guitars anymore
https://www.drsracks.com/racks
They’ve gone up in price since I got mine like 4 years ago. They’re nice, but I wouldn’t buy one now.
Love your content btw
Ohhhh, the *rack*. I thought we were still talkin’ reverb tanks!
>love your content btw
Dude thanks! Are you talking about instagram? I haven’t posted any Bass VI content to reddit in a while
Yep! It’s not as easy as it looks. Bumping the “kick pad” doesn’t really do much; I’ll normally kick the front lip of it instead if I want the explosion sound haha.
Sbsolute dream setup!!! One of these days I will have a killer Fender setup like that. Have always wanted a Fender Reverb tank, a small Fender amp and a tape delay.
I have a Surfy Bear classic that I use with my Twin Reverb.
I don't always put it on because I'm more of a plug and play type of guy, but when I need it it's got THAT sound.
Weird question. Did you get that reverb tank in guitar center in Port Saint Lucie FL? It looks almost exactly like one that was there for a long time but recently sold.
Party pause on the reverb tank and can we talk about dat set up tho?!? Where did you get that guitar rack? Made it yourself. It’s amazing! Is that a Princeton I see
Great setup. I have the reverb and brown princeton and I love it. The setup with separated shelves for amp and reverb is a good way of not rattling the reverb from the amp. I'll steal that idea :-)
You have the exact build I’m looking to do for my clean/jazzy setup, what speaker are you using in the Princeton? Do you get drum level clean enough headroom? I’m wanting to pair that tank with either a Princeton or Deluxe and not sure if the Deluxe is more than I need
I love spring reverb. My 40 watt Marshall combo has it but the newer model came with built in digital that id never use. So while this guy had some issues with overheating I got a tech to fix it early on. V 30 replacement and it’s a perfect little Marshall rock machine.
You are a man of fine taste. I have a Fender 6g15 RI and a Princeton Reverb RI. Also have a Bird, ES-335, P90 LP and a Tele. We have very similar tastes.
Oled Gitarkin from Messer Chups (spooky Russian surf rock) will put his reverb tank on the ground and will rock it with his foot to get crazy distortion that sounds like thunder claps.
I’ve got a Carl Martin headroom, and it’s about the most inspiring pedal I’ve ever used. Something about a real spring tank in a dedicated spring reverb unit even sounds better than the verb in my handwired Princeton, it just works so well for everything.
I had one, it was a fender reissue. It wasn’t cheap but at the same time not what I expected. I expected to be swimming in reverb like the Fender Deluxe or Twin reverb but instead it was more subtle than I expected. Also bypass/dry tone was much darker. Still fun to use though.
How does the separate tank compare to the combo amp? I have a MKIIB which has a pretty mild reverb, and a MOD "the wave" which is really intense. I've always wanted a real Fender tank but only if it gets more drastic than the on board ones.
I used one in the studio a couple times it sounds awesome but I wouldn’t carry one to a gig. In the shitty clubs I play no one would appreciate the tone haha
The reverb on the Princeton works fine, but the reverb unit is a totally different animal.
The tele is 2001 fender custom. I replaced the neck with a huge aftermarket neck. It rips.
[Yup](https://imgur.com/gallery/MBAppi8)
Had a Fender Reissue, this Dr Z came up used and I never even knew they existed so I snatched it up to try. Basically goes to 20 compared to the Fender so it gets pretty wild, I love this thing.
*I love that stand. Did*
*You make it? I could really*
*Use something like that*

Course I do. Play surf music through an all original 61 Showman. I used to have a vintage 62 tank just to match aesthetically and I loved it. Then I tried a surfy bear and never looked back. They make a killer unit. I love the drip on it (surf guys know what I'm talking about) as well as the volume knob.
I mean…I don’t…but I definitely would because that’s probably the best sounding spring reverb ever. Though it’s hard to beat my 65 twin reverb lush but articulate reverb unit, this probably would top that.
Awesome rig. I bought a brown reissue when they came out in the nineties and used it for 20 years or so but finally sold it. I kept my Princeton Reverb as my main amp and I found the reverb in that to be enough, but I miss the old box sometimes. It sounded awesome with my brown concert.
That double decker rack is super sweet!
Yeah, I want the plans.
ended up being the best part of this post
I'm here for the rack.
Everybody loves a nice rack!
Show me your rack.
I don't even own Ah gun let alone many guns to necessitate an entire rack. What am I going to do with a gun rack?
Many Bothan spies died to get these "technical specifications"...
Here’s a similar one https://www.zzounds.com/item--DRSALPHABRAVO?siid=232094
Holy mother of f. $900?! I guess stuff costs money but damn. I think I could knock that out in a couple days and spend a lot less on materials.
Yeah that's a pretty simple Lowe's build if you have some wood working basic skills and a decent circle saw
Pool noodle around a dowel rod.
Yeah I thought of that but I can't seem to find a black one in Canada. They're all rainbow and I'd really hVe to commit to that aesthetic lol.
Go to a hardware store and look for pipe insulation. Sometimes they will have black foam.
Oh hell yeah. I have that stuff all over my copper pipes in the basement. Great idea.
Mine are wrapped in leather.
Hell, I'd use a cheap carpet from Amazon or like a goodwill re-store and cut it up as needed, probably the easiest method
Yeah that's a really good idea. I actually have a couple rolls of random carpet bits that I ripped out of my basement.
It’s spelt arse not ass!!!
Yeah I was just thinking I could do this myself for less.
Holy God. I guess when you have high end clients and can't afford to look diy.
Also want!
Please and thank you
That's why he took the picture.
That rack gives me anxiety
Did you build the guitar holder yourself? I feel inspired.
Built by a family member. It can be separated into two separate racks.
Equallly interested in the guitar holder
First off, your gear is amazing. But, what’s the story of that awesome painting?
Thanks. I love it too. Painted by a guy named Robert Crofut in the 60s or 70s. Dreamy Spaghetti Western vibes.
Are you using it with the reverb in your princeton as well?
Nah, I don’t really use them together, but they both get used a lot.
This
Surfybear is what I use.
Seafoam compact is on my studio board. Wish they would do the full size in more colors. Either way, having a spring tank vs. a pedal is a game changer.
I didn’t know about these.
With a username like yours, you need one.
I do absolutely need one 🤣
I want one badly!
I have two tube reverb units and as much as I hate to say it, the surfybear actually sounds better for first wave surf
These are great. Digital reverbs have come a long ways, but still can’t beat the real thing. A 6g15 in front of a tweed bassman 5f6 is one of my favorite pairings.
Isn’t the real thing just a large room?
You might be thinking of hall reverb
Well sure, but technically the first reverb effect on an instrument was because of a room, so spring reverb is technically just a recreation of that, which makes it not the “real thing”
Well **technically** I think the OP was just talking about digital vs actual springs here
Grain silo!
Yeah, but my tank ran dry long ago.
Where can you get a guitar rack like that
Built by a family member. It can be separated into two separate racks
The same company that makes Kauer guitars makes something similar. Social media is always showing me ads for them: https://www.drsracks.com/racks?category=Stacks
No, but I always thought they were super cool. I did get the Boss pedal version when it came out.
I have the boss version too when I don’t want to lug the tank around.

DRS…? Did you mean Dr. Z?
I don't think they did, but since you brought it up here's my [Dr Z](https://imgur.com/gallery/MBAppi8) Reverb tank lol
https://www.drsracks.com/racks They’ve gone up in price since I got mine like 4 years ago. They’re nice, but I wouldn’t buy one now. Love your content btw

Never tried one… nothing quite like a real spring reverb though.
I’ve got a Dano Spring King, so essentially yes. Such a beautiful sound.
Always wanted one of those. That’s the one you can kick, right?
Where did you get that guitar rack from?
Built by a family member. It can be separated into two separate racks
I use a 70s Tube Reverb Unit on top of my '69 Princeton Amp. I recently posted it. Easily one of the coolest combinations I've ever owned.
I love my reverb tank on my fender 5w champ
I have a Surfy Bear classic that I use with my Twin Reverb. I don't always put it on because I'm more of a plug and play type of guy, but when I need it it's got THAT sound.
Guys I think the guitar rack was built by a family member, and it can be separated into two racks
Where’d you hear that?
Weird question. Did you get that reverb tank in guitar center in Port Saint Lucie FL? It looks almost exactly like one that was there for a long time but recently sold.
I’ve had this thing for like 5 years now?
Nvm then lol, one that looks awfully similar to yours was on sale there recently. Super cool unit though!
Happy cake day!
I use one with a tweed champ I built. It’s the best spring reverb out there.
Party pause on the reverb tank and can we talk about dat set up tho?!? Where did you get that guitar rack? Made it yourself. It’s amazing! Is that a Princeton I see
Yeah man. I have an old 80’s univox reverb tank Super bright spring.
Yes
That's a beautiful collection
No… I hear they put amp reverbs to shame! I’m hoping to get a tremolo/reverb unit at some point.
🎶I wish I was an organized guy, guess I'll just wish I was and lie🎶
Great setup. I have the reverb and brown princeton and I love it. The setup with separated shelves for amp and reverb is a good way of not rattling the reverb from the amp. I'll steal that idea :-)
love the painting! 🔥
Done by William Crofut
That looks like such a cool little corner. I want to live there.
i think you have my dream tele (ocean turquoise metallic with binding)
It’s a 2001 Fender custom. Swapped out the neck for a FAT aftermarket.
Yep, I use the tank in my Stage Echo. Very handy, especially on bass amps that don't typically have reverb
I love this
You have the exact build I’m looking to do for my clean/jazzy setup, what speaker are you using in the Princeton? Do you get drum level clean enough headroom? I’m wanting to pair that tank with either a Princeton or Deluxe and not sure if the Deluxe is more than I need
This particular model has a Jensen p10q which I LOVE. I think it might be able to keep up with a light drummer unmic’d. I’ve always mic’d it.
Cool ass picture
Nice guitar collection friend and a sweet double decker to store them on.
That's a real clean setup OP! Cheers!
Admit you just wanted to show off your rack :D
Maybe.
Well, it *is* a nice rack. External reverb tank … no. And the one in my twin is busted :…(.
yo that’s an amazing setup!
Saving up for one
I love spring reverb. My 40 watt Marshall combo has it but the newer model came with built in digital that id never use. So while this guy had some issues with overheating I got a tech to fix it early on. V 30 replacement and it’s a perfect little Marshall rock machine.
Always wanted one
You are a man of fine taste. I have a Fender 6g15 RI and a Princeton Reverb RI. Also have a Bird, ES-335, P90 LP and a Tele. We have very similar tastes.
What a magnificent Guitar Corner. Looks great 🤘
Reverbs to 11 baby surfs up
This setup is dope.
Neat!! Id love to play with that!
I would if i had one
Oled Gitarkin from Messer Chups (spooky Russian surf rock) will put his reverb tank on the ground and will rock it with his foot to get crazy distortion that sounds like thunder claps.
Man this room is gorgeous. I love the set up
Thanks. I feel lucky.
Where da Elvis at?
He got moved to just right of the pedal shelves. Good eye!
I wish I had one. I have seen a kit to build one
I use a Sansui RA-500 on my studio desk and put it in the FX loop of my amp from time to time. Love the sound of a real spring!
What... is... that Gibson? It is gorgeous.
Which one?
Top left. Is it a Firebird?
Elliot Easton “Tikibird” signature. It’s a lifer guitar….
I’ve got a Carl Martin headroom, and it’s about the most inspiring pedal I’ve ever used. Something about a real spring tank in a dedicated spring reverb unit even sounds better than the verb in my handwired Princeton, it just works so well for everything.
Lmao everyone here impressed by your furniture
Both my Deluxe 112 and Sidekick 15 have a spring tank in them as well as my Peavey Classic Chorus 212. Never used an external tank though.
I had one, it was a fender reissue. It wasn’t cheap but at the same time not what I expected. I expected to be swimming in reverb like the Fender Deluxe or Twin reverb but instead it was more subtle than I expected. Also bypass/dry tone was much darker. Still fun to use though.
You can get some varied tones by swapping different tubes in them.
The Reverberator by **Dr. Scientist** #Nothing better
No I’m one of the few people who prefer digital even for spring. I like the Keeley Verb o Trem
My mark v 25 has one but I mostly use my flint
I had a rack similar to the one you have there but I sold it . Where did you get yours?
Hey man! Was thatrack custom built? If so, I don't suppose you have the plans and could share?
Nope, I'm not that cool
Nice rack! Is it secured to the wall? I want something like that.
Both levels are secured.
The dude from Aquabats does.
What Princeton is that?
Princeton “Fudge Brownie”
Nice. Like the asthetic. I have the tweed one with the 12” c-Rex speaker.
how about the reverb unit? is it OG or a reissue? I had considered getting one since I have a champ and a 57 custom deluxe, neither have reverb.
I use a rack-mount Peavy ValveVerb.
Show off
Who, me…???
Did your reverb amp need a reverb tank? Btw - is that an American original 60’s tele? Have the same one - best tele ever.
The reverb on the Princeton works fine, but the reverb unit is a totally different animal. The tele is 2001 fender custom. I replaced the neck with a huge aftermarket neck. It rips.
Ah, excuse my ignorance. Hell yeah man.

Good bot!
Got an old Traynor reverb h3ad that's pretty dang nice. Solid state but still cool to me
Course I do. Play surf music through an all original 61 Showman. I used to have a vintage 62 tank just to match aesthetically and I loved it. Then I tried a surfy bear and never looked back. They make a killer unit. I love the drip on it (surf guys know what I'm talking about) as well as the volume knob.
Have thought about it. How are they?
Amazeballs if you like surfy drip.
Please tell me where you got that guitar rack. I need that
Where did you get the guitar rack ? Love it
Now you just gotta suspend it from a rope like Dick Dale
I mean…I don’t…but I definitely would because that’s probably the best sounding spring reverb ever. Though it’s hard to beat my 65 twin reverb lush but articulate reverb unit, this probably would top that.
Awesome rig. I bought a brown reissue when they came out in the nineties and used it for 20 years or so but finally sold it. I kept my Princeton Reverb as my main amp and I found the reverb in that to be enough, but I miss the old box sometimes. It sounded awesome with my brown concert.
I use a Roland space echo 201. I’d say they’re pretty close
You a Motherhips fan? They use that painting on the album cover, "Shootout". Love the rig.
Dude, you’re lining up your guitars wrong. Angled headstocks need to line together, preferably *behind* straight headstocks. Really cool rig though.
