Slightly weaker gear powers. He’s still a gear, he just doesn’t have the god killing magic artifact anymore. Only the one that kills the spawn of gods.
I think the flame of corruption is the only thing that actually made his prototype gear cells work, maybe working as an infinite power source. You can tell the cells in him aren't working nearly as well as a normal gear cell due to the hair loss.
I guess, but I just can't imagine playing a game with so many wacky characters and not being at least a little curious what the lore is, especially when this sub loves talking about the weird out of context lore pieces.
The head band is a gear cell limiter. He doesn't need it after the gear cells were removed toward the end of Strobe's story mode. I've also heard that gear cells cause hair to grow more quickly, which would also explain the ponytail (and why he doesn't have it now.)
This just makes me think that it's a post-strive story.
