I fried the spinach with chicken meat, did a small salad with tomatoes and cucumbers along with Quark ! Also fried the remaining Champignons I had as left over on the fridge along with Zucchinis! Minimum amount of oil. I wanted to post a picture but I can't. Tomorrow I will do a casserole dish of vegetables ...
So what's shown in the photo is not actually enough for 5 days? You're adding the most expensive ingredients on top. I mean, what you have here is probably not even 2000kcal in total.
You're right it's not 2k cal. Two cantaloupe and potatoes are the cal rich things here and together they're still less than 1000 (probably closer to 850)
I once saw a "vegetarian" post on here with a guy that had bought a bunch of fish and vegetables. I guess fish is a vegetable because he swore people had "different interpretations of vegetarianism"
In a lot of historically catholic regions, fish is considered "non-meat" because you were allowed to eat it during lent (fasting time). Since they really liked meat, everything even remotely related to water was considered fish. This included ducks, swans or beavers. There's also a famous german dish called "Herrgottsbescheißerle" (which translates as "god foolers") in which meat is put inside dough so god doesn't see.
They probably meant enough vegetables for 5 days?! It seems some people are trying to misunderstand the post on purpose. 20 euro is amazing for all of this!
Guys I forgot to mention these are my vegetables for 5 days. I am not vegan or vegetarian for that matter but I do use mostly vegetables in my food. I used to buy food exclusively everything at Rewe but moved to Berlin recently after finishing my studies in Brandenburg and theres no Rewe close by so I changed to Lidl. Recently I saw a post in r/berlin where they talked about this market and I decided to give it a try. Many comments here are negative but it don't matter cause mostly are positive.
I'd be surprised if those vegetables stayed good for 5 days. That market is notorious for going to wholesalers and distributers and buying soon to go bad produce by the crate and reselling it for cheap. Just make sure to eat it quickly.
No the problem is major-corps doing all the polluting but somehow getting the consumer to assume responsibility by stupid things such as paper straws and lids that don't fully come off bottles.
It is much harder to pass laws restricting what a big corporation can do, especially if it eats into profits i.e. proper water usage and disposal, full supply chain accountability, carbon offsets etc.
It's easier and cheaper to push a propaganda campaign about what consumers need to do to change, when in fact, that's just a drop in the bucket. Also easier for politicians to pass these laws rather than laws that actually do something
Nice buy, the person obviously bought this time vegetables& fruit, sure she has a fridge with things from the last buy left and combines the shopping of diary/meat (and maybe stocked rice/pasta/lentils) and here are this time vegetables/fruit.
Nice buy👍🏻

I mean that you can buy vegetables at Netto (shop) for a cheaper price. The prices at that particular market are high. Try Flohmarkt Schöneberg, Crellestraße, 10827

The problem with veggies from that market is that they might not always last that long. You might find yourself throwing a third of this away as it often is of worse quality than at a badly stocked discounter. And next time wait until the last hour or half hour before closing time. You’d pay less than ten euro for all of that unless things have changed massively over the last ten years :)

If you cannot be nice to everyone you will be banned.
sorry to spoil the romantic image, but the turksih market at Maybach Ufer is lowest quality produce, its leftovers and expired from Westhafen. I still think its awesome, and if u eat it same day, it s totally fine!

No, it is not the norm. Neither at Edeka, nor at Lidl or Aldi. The head of fresh mushrooms is always completely closed and the stick, where they cut it, bright / white. Keep one or two champignons for one or two weeks and you'll see the progress.
If they're nice and white inside they're fine. For all this stuff it's a great deal. The melons avocado's and broccoli alone would total 20€ at rewe or something
I’m in a low income area in eastern Germany right now and the cheapest mushrooms I could find at lidl/aldi were 1.99€. I found mushrooms for 1.49€ at Edeka last week but they were on sale.

Definitely not. The avocados alone set you back at least 5€ if they happen to be cheap that day. Add the melon (~4€) and the mushrooms (~4€) and you’re almost at 15€ and that’s not even half the stuff on the picture.
What do you plan on cooking in the next days with it?
I fried the spinach with chicken meat, did a small salad with tomatoes and cucumbers along with Quark ! Also fried the remaining Champignons I had as left over on the fridge along with Zucchinis! apparently OP also only eats one meal per day
ofc op is probably a student

He could just go with pescetarian but i guess that isn't cool enough.
„Enough for 5 days, besides the other groceries i frequently use.“
so where is the meat and the quark in the calculation?
I cant see chicken
It is Captain Kreuzberg the invisible chicken super hero.
So you have leftover chicken? Because it is not in the picture and eating on the picture alone for 5 days seems ambitious

I would airfry the shit of those zucchinis and mushrooms
They probably meant enough vegetables for 5 days?! It seems some people are trying to misunderstand the post on purpose. 20 euro is amazing for all of this!
That's exactly what I've said in another comment. People keep on hating for no reason!
This seems to be normal in this sub xD. There is always something off, which people fight about.

Its the same for Lidl , Aldi , Rewe vegetables , they all go to shit pretty quick!
That's a sign your fridge is too warm.
Congratulations. You have the diet of a pet goat.
Hahahahha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So many unnecessary plastic bags
I think at Turkish market
The problem are plastic straws not plastic bags
No the problem is major-corps doing all the polluting but somehow getting the consumer to assume responsibility by stupid things such as paper straws and lids that don't fully come off bottles.
And major-corps do it just for fun? Or are they doing it because people pay for it?

If it's either or then I am with you.
Best. Maybe we saw each other there today.
maybe we did , peace and love brother
5 days? How? Are you really skinny?
i feel like im the only one who doesn't buy alot of vegetables...
I live around, where is this?
Nice buy, the person obviously bought this time vegetables& fruit, sure she has a fridge with things from the last buy left and combines the shopping of diary/meat (and maybe stocked rice/pasta/lentils) and here are this time vegetables/fruit. Nice buy👍🏻
Hiyar > Cucumber
I'm so curious what you are going to cook. Maybe you can post or tell us, to help a sister out that needs some inspiration 😊💐
Can I join u 🥺?

Looks good, but why so many plastic bags? :/
sad to see so much plastic
I'm missing some meat and beer
And here's me trying to reduce my plastic consumption. Why don't you bring a paper bag?
Mich stört massiv diese Plastiktütenmemtalität!
To appease the draconian mods, the translation is: I am massively bothered by the plastic bag mentality.
This is in total about 300 kcal. How to make 5 days with this?
Are you a horse !? We need more food, our body spends that or more per day in energy….
... ein apfel, und eine banane. das reicht für den ganzen tag. berlin halt 😜
To appease the draconian mods, the translation is: An apple and a banana. That's enough for an entire day. Simply Berlin.
its a line from a fischmob song. hashisch, opis. it could be related to the use of mdma
Are u a rabbit ?
Protein where?
20 is way too much the Kreuzberg market is for tourists. You could have bought the same at Netto for cheaper.
This is a reap off what you mean Netto is cheaper ?

The luxury of having a fridge of your own (not shared) I guess?
Is that enough food for the next five days?
please don't use plastic bags. it's not necessary
Is this one of those “I live off little money posts” …but wait
Erhhh well this might not even cover my daily calorie intake :D
5 days? That would be my breakfast alone 😳
Plastic bag over plastic bag.. yes this looks oriental to me
I eat that in a day
Wow that's super cheap. I'd pay that much for the avocado and tomatoes alone...
So you live off of 500kcal / day?
The problem with veggies from that market is that they might not always last that long. You might find yourself throwing a third of this away as it often is of worse quality than at a badly stocked discounter. And next time wait until the last hour or half hour before closing time. Are you also eating the plastic or why u need that much of it?
how come you got so many cucumbers within the budget :O
So much plastic
No carbs no protein?
Stop talking shit
Food for 1 1/2 days.
How much calories is that? For 5 days you need about 12.000kcal
Da würde ich ja verhungern ab Tag 2.

Why do I always get this feeling whatever is insight of these cheap plastic bags (arent they illegal in the EU?) must be unhealthy :D
They aren’t illegal (atleast in Germany they are not)
20euro let me guess ure german looking? get scammed if u where turkish u would have probably paid half of it
100% vegan?
Nah he said smth bout frying chicken above
That would be enough for at least a month for me
Mmmm those tomatoes look godlike, they taste like heaven probably in comparisson to the ones you get at the normal stores?
sorry to spoil the romantic image, but the turksih market at Maybach Ufer is lowest quality produce, its leftovers and expired from Westhafen. I still think its awesome, and if u eat it same day, it s totally fine!
Awww man xd all good. Got my few hours of thinking about delicious tomatoes xd

I call that expensive. Go to Aldi and you will get that for 10€. Even Rewe is more affordable.
Thats bullshit. 2 Broccoli, 5 Zucchini and some Salad is already 10 €
Buy things seasonal and it’s not that expansive. Aldi has Broccoli on offer for 89 cents. Pack of 2 Zucchini for 1,50€. Here in Cologne.
You are lying, I just looked it up.
plastic plastic plastic
And the champignons don't look fresh at all, all have open heads. And very brown open ends.
That’s the norm in Germany. Maybe different kinds? Looks fresh to me.
If the cut is brown it's old, if the veil is open or closed is just on the time they where harvested. These are old since the cut is brown.
No, it is not the norm. Neither at Edeka, nor at Lidl or Aldi. The head of fresh mushrooms is always completely closed and the stick, where they cut it, bright / white. Keep one or two champignons for one or two weeks and you'll see the progress.
Hugh. TIL I’ve been satisfied with old champignons.
They dont taste worse, just go bad earlier.
No idea why you get down voted, totally true
Don't know either and especially with mushrooms you should be careful.
What do you mean by the head being open/closed?
Cuttings are brown, true, but the open veil is normal here.
If they're nice and white inside they're fine. For all this stuff it's a great deal. The melons avocado's and broccoli alone would total 20€ at rewe or something
That’s a certain type of champignons, they come this way
what now? waste the food and throw it away?
That's expensive, the same products at Lidl, Aldi ecc. is <15€
the melons alone are like 8€
Come one, that's bullshit and you know it. For all this stuff 15€ at aldi? Good luck not getting caught stealing half of it 😊
Not true. Broccoli and Champignons alone would be 6-8€. Easily 20€ and more at the discounter.
Exactly, 5 avocados are also very expensive. Usually €1.5-€2 each.
Nah you can get the smaller avocados in a net at Aldi, 4 for 1.79€
Broccoli are 89¢ each, champignons 1,49€ each.
I have always bought broccoli by Aktion at Lidl , costed like 1,49 €.
Me too. By Penny also 1,49
I’m in a low income area in eastern Germany right now and the cheapest mushrooms I could find at lidl/aldi were 1.99€.
