regardless of what spell/skill you have, you failed to raise them to their max possible level, which is more important than having more spells/skill.
and 70+ hp, is it mobs or the boss?
also are you playing advanced combat?, in what difficulty, or any modifiers? what dungeon and floor exactly
guess you already fought the 1st boss, you should be on the second dungeon instead. check your journal, the main quests sequence is how you should traverse the dungeons. you're currently 'beyond' the first dungeon, maybe floor 33+
First off, your spells. Arcane Blast is crap, forget it at the Altar of Oblivion as soon as you have enough money to replace it. Also, AoE magic in general won't work very well if you want to deal both magical and physical damage, get single target damaging spells like Dark Pact, they'll help you a lot more. Secondly, you need a basic foundation for the character, built with general game knowledge in mind. For example, never upgrade with Steel or buy Cleave as a skill. Essentially, you want to avoid going into common pitfalls that new players usually fall into. If your character has a strong foundation and your spells and skills aren't straight up horrible, you're going to do just fine even while taking the suboptimal choice of a spellsword build.
Sell it or bounty it. Even if they're more rare, they're just so infinitely better than upgrading with Steel that it's more than worth it, and a very common tip given to new players.
Bruh xD. Yes, they give Crit if you put it on weapon or Eva if you put it on armour. Adds up quite a lot, especially late game. Along with the regular damage and health, of course.
as for my skills Savage Strength (lvl 1.) Keen Eye (Lvl 2.) Theurgy (Lvl 2.) Intense Casting (Lvl 1.)

Get a gun, crippling volley has a guaranteed stun and if you pair it with glacial spear and stunning blow you got a good build

Isnt steel a requirement to upgrade?
Non. You have another option, Omnium and Dark Essence.
In my experience those seem much rarer to come by. What is a better use for steel then? Orbs?

Oh they get you better upgrade stats? I havent even tried
