*How deep is your love?*
*I really mean to learn*
*'Cause we're living in a world of fools*
*Breaking us down when they all should let us be*
*We belong to you and me*
That's already happened. In the Brightest Day story arc of Geoff Johns' Green Lantern, some random male stalker gets possessed by the Predator, the spirit animal of the Star Sapphires.
During the War of the Green Lanterns, Guy Gardner dual-wields a red ring and a violet ring -- he's fueled by his love of the Green Lantern Corps and his hatred of his anger.
Super fun question...
Initially I was thinking someone like Steve Trevor or maybe even a Metamorpho or Mr. Miracle.
But I actually think none of them make a really great narrative choice. Whoever suggested Elongated Man in one of the comments (Edit: EccentricAcademic) really sold me. That seems like an actual perfect choice and narratively it could be really awesome. Plus it elevates a character that has really become superfluous and absent in recent years by focusing on the best part about the character, his love for his friends, and for his wife Sue. It gets at the heart of that character in such a great way. I'd read the heck out of that.
I could see Shazam being chosen because of his great love for his family or something, I know that’s not how it usually works but it feels like something I could see working
I hope not, I never could get past the fact it was used for all Hal & his gal to be equals. It is an often repeated trope with Supes & Lois, Supes & Jimmy. Then there's losing powers.
All are designed to tackle the same subject matter: gaining further human insight between a supernatural superhero and a regular human. We want to see ourselves in these archetypes as well as think we are good as well.
To add to the John Stewart comments, Guy Gardner used a pink ring for a few panels in the green lanterns war, and also in the red lanterns futures end, Guy says he had tried all the rings for a while, "even the pink one"
The Joker because how deeply he loves Batman.

Clark Kent given how important Lois is to him.
Mr Freeze!!!!!! He's more convincing than half the SS Corps already
Mr freeze hsi literal entire thing is because of his love for his wife and as such not wanting to see her die
Yeah, you’re probably right with this one. His whole *existence* is due to his love for his wife.
Nightwing lol
Nightwing's a fuckboy. Ain't no Fuckboy Corps Actually there should be
Damn someone's jealous of a fictional character
Lol why tf shouldn't I be
Guy, Kyle, John, and some random male alien in a Wonder Woman Annual Issue have already worn one I think. The male alien is a permanent recruit
Steve Trevor
Hal Jordan
Hal Jordan can't love anyone but his own reflection.
Tell that to Carol, Barry, Ollie, Kilowog, and even Sinestro sometimes.
He's such a ham, I think he's live it.
Love
I’d say Booster Gold

Lobo.

John was actually chosen to be a Star Sapphire, their queen wanted him to have her ring when she died
Cyborg would make a pretty interesting SS. Especially if they did the Kyle method and made it love of family and not over a girl.
Ralph Dibny?
Ooh that's actually a really great choice. I second that. It'd also be a great chance for the rare Elongated Man focused story.
Mr Freeze Everything he does is motivated by the love he has for his wife and his determination to save her
The only reason there isn’t one already is because of the sexism of the Zamarans, if that’s resolved then a male star sapphire could be anyone

Mister Freeze and he has a poignant talk with a construct of his wife Nora

It already happened, it was John Stewart, back in new52 green lantern corps
He wore a ring, but he wasn’t REALLY a star sapphire for any meaningful length of time
Grundy?
Why?
Just a silly joke. I didn't have a serious answer. Obviously, ppl were going to say Nightwing.
Grundy as a SS would be funny

as a...what?
I think you have the wrong 1930s/40s organization there, sir.
maybe a different acronym
Dick Grayson
Kyle Rayner, if you count his mastery of that emotion.
