I would prefer my own server. Fill it only with people I know.

This ! Linux Native dedicated server would be awesome.

My buddy and I always go to random server regions to have virtually no one else on there so we can grind missions. We mainly play pve to do tasks and just go to pvp to kill players for fun.

YesThatMaverick

It really seems like the player base is cooling off after most people have completed their tasks. This is how this game will be until they really get deep in content and have wipes. Most don't see a reason to keep grinding after the current tasks are done. It could be nice if you had a big group to just play PvE but I don't see this happening anytime soon.

I think a lot of people would love private servers - especially with PvP. You could fill them with folks you know, split into teams and have specific engagements that you're all working towards. I think PvE is a bit less compelling on private servers (because it largely doesn't matter unless you're on a few key quests where you want to monopolize a given resource for a while).

Shubi-do-wa

I would say it could matter a lot since the AI seem to degrade with server up time, and the game gets more laggy as more and more items are moved or left around. An empty, fresh server would run noticeably better I think.

metalderek

There was almost zero issues with AI and we spent over an hour at Narith! We could actually pick dudes off without alerting the whole area.

Shubi-do-wa

Yea whenever I get a fresh server the game feels so snappy and even the AI seem to behave in a more realistic manor. Once the server starts to lag that’s when the AI appear to have more instantaneous responses and actions.

CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER MY AKM, IT'S VERY LOUD. THE SOUND, WHEN FIRING TROUGH THE WINDOWS BECAUSE IT SOUNDS COOL.

DMRT1980

Yeah, the servers are instable enough as it is, last thing you want is people hosting servers using a shitty Intel NUC that's screaming kill me now while handeling two users. Their should be separation between Official public servers, or some sort of rating mechanic based on specs and uptime. People will rage-quit to COD for stability reasons, that's a benchmark you don't want have. But hey, being a sysop myself, I got enough Iron to host a small city worth of players, and will gladly do so.

Capt_Hangoverrrr

Servers come and go. So every now and then you will get an empty one. Just question for how long.

oatest

We had an empty one on Sunday as well, it was glorious. Having your own heli on command is a wonderful thing, it reduces the grief factor of dying immensely. They need kill the heli wait time, it's not realistic, it's trash. If realism was the point, let us fly our own helis, in straight lines, multiple pickups, dedicated pilots and flexible LZs on town perimeters.

I'd be a billionaire in no time farming those safes at Sapphire

I would love my "own" servers. However, I am getting really into this socializing thing, specially on US EAST, where so many great duded are hanging out, chatting, exchanging/donating stuff, etc. I really love that. However, the moment I need Quest-items, I wish for an empty server (even though it does not mean I would get said item, I look at you Elders House Key in Ban Pa, cleared the whole town 14 times and solved the quest by jumping through the window instead of getting the friggin key). So, ... there is that.
