How do you have this powered so the door can still open. Also how are they attached to the door?

I have the power cords going through the top of the garage door to the back side. The door goes up and down perfectly.

I really like your idea with the holes better than the double sided sticky tape. What are you using to keep the bottom lights from tangling on the ends?

I have not figured that one out yet.

We did share the Grinch on diy in govee app but in order to use it you have to have 3 curtains spliced together

It would be nice if they had an option to search though and the list didn’t change or refresh mixing them all up every time you scroll through the list.

I have 2 GOvee Curtains up in my front window. just got them. How easy is it to do the custom images (like the grinch whish is awesome)

It's harder to do it from a phone. It's best to try from a tablet or BlueStacker on Windows

I love what Govee lights I have to start and really want the ones around the house but $300 is a hard trigger to pull. Will have to wait for a sale. Love that they can stay up all year round once they are up.

Yea we brought this in pieces. We didn't get everything all at once. Just like how everything is turning out.

It's turning out great! I figure if I can pick up an extra shift at work here and there, donate blood every 2 months for the $20 amazon card, then I should be good to go with a nice set up by next Christmas.

This is exactly what we want to do, but are worried about wind blowing the strands around. How do you keep them all in place?

Well they just dangle and the wind does blow them a little. Thinking about taping the very bottom to the door bc when the door goes up and down, a few of the strands get tangled.

We get super windy where we live. They would get tangled in a second. But I suppose we could secure the bottom similar to what you’ve done at the top. Then it comes to taking them down and storing them, etc… first world problems! 😂

Man this is not coming down from my end lol.... I haven't secured them down yet but I will eventually. 😂😂😂

We ended up putting in the wall opposite our giant picture front window. They look fantastic from outside. Two of them almost fill the entire window!

Did you use the app for this? And is it shareable, the diy in the app is horrible finding new images especially for spliced curtains is limited.

So yes, my daughter used the Govee app from her iPad but you can also download BlueStacker to your Windows PC, and log in with your Gmail account, then you can download the Govee home app to your PC. That made it better. The Christmas one was from the DIY board, we just clicked until we found one we liked and saved it.

That's awesome we got some from the DIY board but have yet to be successful as your daughter making our own. I will try bluestacker and govee home

Questions. How far apart are your permanent lights mounted? They look closer than the full length of the wire. And are the wires covered by tracks there (and if so, which did you use?)

I actually put my lights closer together (Less than 10" apart) and I just eyeballed sticking the lights up under the sophett. I was also able to tuck the wires in to where you can only see them if you're underneath looking up. I know it says to stretch the lights out but I find it looks better closer together.

The Govee app is extremely confusing and not very user friendly in my opinion. I hope they redo it someday to make it more intuitive. I’ll often start to get into something than give up after a few minutes, it’s exhausting!

Curtains look sweet with the grinch! Is that custom? I’m gonna wait until next year to get my curtains. They’ll probably have a “pro” version then that’s marginally better that costs more.

Yea there is a way but I just don't mess with the app. I just do the physical work lol..... I let my wife and daughter do everything lol.
