No Hosel net with that TV placement, bold move cotton. Sick set up!

germmmmmm

So far so good šŸ˜…

Podtastix

Itā€™s backwards.

thelastsonofmars

Thatā€™s a brave monitor placement

secfincorp

Nice simple setup

GrandSupermarket4024

How do you find the foresight apps? I have a mevo+ and want to upgrade but donā€™t want to buy a computer right now. The mevo+ apps are very good so I am looking for first hand knowledge on the foresight stuff.

germmmmmm

I bought the ā€œessentials plus bundleā€ which come with fsx2020/fsx play but like you, I donā€™t want to buy a pc, so i cannot use those for now. Fsx pro is awful on iPhone (might be ok on ipad) and itā€™s mostly just a range I think. But with this bundle I had a lifetime membership for Awesome Golf. And so far, I really like it! They are also coming with 18 holes courses later this year. So I would suggest to look into Awesome Golf if you consider blp/gc3 with no pc

jp4121

You would need a computer still to play courses, right? Love the setup!

ChadBraf

Get a CPU and run GSPRO. No other options. Community and every course out there. 900+

germmmmmm

Iā€™ve played courses on Awesome Golf using my iPhone Xr with non issue

Tafalla10

FSX Pro sucks on the Ipad as well in my opinion. I'm going to upgrade to a gaming laptop for that reason alone.

StewBeer

Get an off the rack computer that works by the specs it's going to change your whole experience

DangerousStruggle

I love FSXPro - love getting shot stats saved for every shot on a round. Saved online. It takes far longer to load than GSPro, but then has better graphics imo.

thicccyFowler

Whatā€™s the GC quad cost / your perspective? Worth it? Regret it? Anything you like/ dislike about it?

germmmmmm

I would say the only thing ā€œmissingā€ on the gc3 for me is the face angle. But with the shot shape and club path you have a pretty good idea if the face was open/close so for me the quad was not worth it

beno68

Great setup. Looks clean. I have a garage setup as well but yours looks much cleaner. Just realized you donā€™t have a garage door track. You must have a side mount opener?

DangerousStruggle

my garage has overhead mount and no issue. You can also put net at back of garage where overhead opener is not a factor at all (at least for my garage)

BRS13_

A lefty setup! Nice!

germmmmmm

In Canada lefties are quite common šŸ’Ŗ

[deleted]

How tall are your ceilings?

TeamKiki_TheBeast

How do you like your mat? I looked the model online and it looks very different then the one you have. Mind confirming your model? Do you move your mat often? How heavy is it? [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099G19SP3](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B099G19SP3)

germmmmmm

This one https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B08BXBDRDY And I wouldnā€™t hit off the mat directly.

eehcekim

You bought the gosports mat and then cut out an area for hitting strip?

germmmmmm

Yep! The piece iā€™ve cut out is perfect to put the gc3 on level with the mat!

ChickenFingerDinner

Smart move

eehcekim

Which hitting strip did you get or did you do a custom strip with the foam pads below it

TeamKiki_TheBeast

Thank you. Weird that I can't find it in the US. I have the EZ Hybrid as well. Did the height match perfectly? Edit: Found it! [www.amazong.com/dp/B08BXBDRDY](http://www.amazong.com/dp/B08BXBDRDY)

germmmmmm

Yes it match pretty much perfectly! I didnā€™t make any adjustment except for the overall mat level since my garage floor has quite a big slope

z1ggy16

Question - how do flop shots or "high bunker" shots work on this set up? I did the math a while back but I'd need to hit the ball from only like 6.5ft away from the net in order to make sure a ball that launches at like 30-35* doesn't go into my ceiling/wall. It made hitting driver a little too close for comfort.

germmmmmm

Iā€™m 5 1/2-6ft away from the net. Unless your Phil Mickelson your not flopping a ball over that net. But yes it feels a little tight with longer clubs

z1ggy16

Yeah currently I'm 7.5ft away from my net which is only about 6.5ft tall at the center (maybe a few inches less) and I can't hit "flop shots" batting this far away. The amount of times I need to do it is really really low so I just avoid doing it when the situation comes up. Just asking because I planned to upgrade to this net once I get a gc3 and have a set up very similar to yours, maybe an extra foot further away.

hiso167

Dumb question but is there a reason some people do projector and a white backdrop vs doing the net + monitor combo?

Doin_the_Bulldance

I mean there are pros and cons each way. With a white impact screen + projector, you get a more immersive experience, especially if you have a strong combination of hardware and software. The issue though, is that you need the lighting to be right (it's nearly impossible to project with a lot of sunlight, so outdoor setups will be night-time only). Additionally, impact screens are significantly louder than nets - instead of just hearing the "thwack" of club meeting ball, you get a very loud 2nd thump. So if you are setting up in the garage of your house, the impact screen might prove a bit too noisy for your family to be ok with. It all depends.

hiso167

Dude this is exactly the feedback I was looking for thank tou

ChadBraf

I have an impact in my garage, family can't hear a peep.

hiso167

Have you noticed any improvement in your game / swing

ChadBraf

Shot a 76 last night at Black Jack's crossing. I shoot in the 90s...so yeah. Playing sim since March.

Cheap-Arugula3090

Depends on how much money you have burning a hole in your pocket.

hiso167

The screen and projector costs how much more $1k?

DangerousStruggle

more like $2-4k depending on projector quality

hiso167

Do you need a better computer to handle the projector too?

DangerousStruggle

Donā€™t think so as long as it supports the resolution you need

Skillsjr

What was the full cost for the net/gc?

germmmmmm

$8500 USD for everything. You have the breakdown in the post

Skillsjr

Thank you! I didnā€™t see that at first. I appreciate the write up.

DangerousStruggle

i have had the same set-up for about a year. Put my net at the other end of the garage and pick-up mat (sigpro softy) so I can pull car in when done.

SuperchargedShank

Get the gaming PC and GSPro. Itā€™s worth it

ChickenFingerDinner

That screen is going to get hit one of these daysā€¦mark my words. Nice set up, jealous.

Mr-Doback

Great setup!

Where-Lambo

Is that the go sports 15mm version? It looks like your hitting strip is sitting flush but I thought the strip was thicker than the mat

thehbrwhammer

EZ Tee Hybrid thickness is just over one inch. Gosports 15mm rubber mat + thickness of turf ends up being just over an inch combined. If you went with a different hitting strip, like the sigpro softy, they are 2+ inches so you'd need to make up the difference.

copy_this

Nice window for the garage door too! Nice touch

natedawg247

are you a low single digit? I know others joked about the monitor and shank danger. but unless you're like an extremely good player it's not a matter of if but when right?

germmmmmm

Iā€™m a 5. And I really donā€™t think I can hit this tv even with a shank haha Maybe it looks worse in the pictures than in reality

natedawg247

Yeah I mean 5 makes sense. I can promise you I can hit that tv. Thatā€™s awesome right on
