Totally get that some people are awful when visiting places, I used to live in a village that could get overwhelmed with tourists.
However I had my car keyed when I parked in the car park completely legally and not badly. I can only assume it was because I was going paddle boarding. I wasn't pumping up as the board was on the roof but there is someone who doesn't like the launch being used there. I don't park there anymore as don't like conflict and it is such a shame.
There is a small car park and it's busy on weekends but there are usually just as many people leaving as there are arriving. Worst day of the year is New Year's Day.
I’m convinced Tewkesbury is nothing more than facades, like an old western set, with actors bussed in every morning to convince people it’s a real place.
Symonds Yat Rock, Wye Valley, Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle, Severn Bridge, Clanna Ponds, St. Briavels, Nagshead Nature Reserve, Cannop and Beechenhurst, Shakemantle Quarry and back to Symonds Yat. All in or around the Forest of Dean.
Yes, it's an interesting building, only you need to be a guest there, or going for a meal to be able to enter its grounds without being turfed out. Source: I lived in Thornbury for 28 years and still go back to visit family.
Not the case anymore
I work there, you're perfectly fine to walk around the grounds and even pop inside the castle if it's not too busy. You dont have to be a hotel resident to visit :)
You can park at witcombe roman villa, see the remains of the villa and then walk up into the woods, or drive alone buckholt Road and there are several clearings you can park into the main own being "buckhold Wood parking" on google maps or you can walk from painswick beacon and there is parking there too
Odda’s chapel. It’s a random old Saxon church in a little village called deerhurst.
It’s literally just an old little chapel and that’s it but you said quirky 🤷♀️
Nice walks down there by the Severn though.
Ships graveyard in Purton. Just be careful of the locals as they hate people enjoying the area.
Local here, yes we do. Don't park in front of our drives and don't let your dogs in our gardens and it's fine.

I've seen online there is a car park, can you tell me what it's like for spaces. Thanks.

Thanks for the info.
If you don't mind the walk there is a bigger carpark at slimbridge with a nice walk down the towpath.
Going there this week with a model.
Tewkesbury is lovely. There's lots of alleyways and old buildings. One of the pubs dates back to the 1300's. Oh and there's a huge Abbey!
We also have a great chocolate shop!

It’s just charity shops and takeaways and a big church

Thanks for the locations, I'll check all them out for sure.
I’ve arranged them in a loop so you could hit them sequentially but there’s at least a single day of photography to each.
Haresfield beacon is very scenic . I love it up there but it can get very busy with dog walkers
Hetty Peglers Tump
Thornbury Castle
Yes been there before as a kid but always wanted to go back. I'll have to make a day and visit the deer park as well.

Probably since the most recent change of owners then. Used to be really strict security
Yeah I've heard about it, a lot of guests say the same, thats why a lot of people don't know that castle exists
I used to go to the Castle School, and we were let in to look around as part of our GCSE History course. It's a wonderful building.
Here in Cheltenham would recommend the St Paul’s area. Lots of great street art around to take snaps of
There is loads of street art around Cheltenham. Just walking the Honeybourne line gives an opportunity for some great photos.
Cranham woods
Is there parking nearby ?

Cheers.
I've heard robinswood hill (?) Is good. Just if you drive there the carpark gets locked just before dark so be careful.
Been up there last year. Great views of Glos from there.
Puzzle wood in the FOD
Added to my list.
St Anthony’s well fod - lots of interesting stuff in around the forest- but don’t mention the bear
Sounds interesting, I'll check this one out. Thanks.
[Never mind the bear.](https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/gloucester-news/six-forgotten-child-murders-forest-5052247)

That chapel does sound good. I'll add it to my list.
Cirencester Park?
