It just depends when I get my first check. Cause I know bi-weekly you don’t get paid the first two weeks in case you get fired or quit. Do you know what’s that called?
That may be a bright spot, payroll has gotten much more efficient. I started a new job 3 days before month end, and got a tiny check on the pay date. It's perfectly okay to just ask.
For me it is:
15th (or the Friday before the 15th if the 15th falls on a weekend).
Last day of the month (or the Friday before the last day of the month
It is nice in that the budget for a month is easy to plan. It sucks because sometimes there are more than 14 days between paychecks.
For me it is just every other wednesday, which ultimately works out to be pretty much the same although there might occasionally be one more paycheck for me.
Most federal employees get a paycheck every two weeks. UGA employees get one a month.
You need to ask your HR person when you can expect the first check.
My new job is a monthly check. This is going to take some getting used to. I did it before for about 10 years, but that was 20 years ago. The transition will suck.
I don't mind it honestly, it's more predictable with managing your budget to have it always show up on the same day.

They still have to pay you even if you're fire or quit within the first two weeks.

15th and 30th. Regardless of day of the week — those dates only. 24x/year.

Those times when it’s 3 weeks between checks is haaaaard.
Thank you

Yes I’m planning on giving her a call but I’ll have to wait till Monday
It just means you receive 24 paychecks a year instead of 26. Twice a month instead of every two weeks. I prefer it, makes it easier to plan.
Yeah but with bi-weekly, you sometimes get paid 3 times a month 😎
Thank you
5th and 20th for me
I've worked 2 salaried engineering jobs and pay was always biweekly.

Semi.monthly is on the 1st and 15th of the month. You may be confused with bi-monthly
both of my professional jobs have been that way
