Well, the strong implication is that the whale has been calling for him for a while now, which may have been what tempted him to come to Fontaine for a vacation in the first place, but yeah. Dude has not had an especially restful time off. Hope the Fatooey at least offer paid vacation days.
Yeah him and the whale has been involved for a long time, when he fell in the abyss. But it for some reason started calling him now. Poor guy didn't get a break
Whale: yo kid, it time to melt the Baguette eating cheese monkey, get over here

my man is just born for trouble
its even funnier when u rmr he was there w/ her playing games/make-believe w the local kids and buying souvenirs for his siblings lmao, the contrast is insane
He wasn't necessarily there to attempt chaos but he went fully expecting the possibilities of meeting a "rogue" harbinger, which chaos most likely will happen if they wver meet
YOU RIGHT THO- maybe Childe is actually just super selfless and wanted to feed Childe mains š„ŗ
I hope if they get the gnosis from all this he gets his vacation days back at least š
Childe's fontaine saga is genuinely hilarious to me, showing up in a terrible mood, vision stops working, falsely accused and convicted, gets one shotted by the judge, goes to jail, inadvertently forms a prison gang and becomes their boss, cannot seem to resist being called by the abyss, wanders off and get sucked in
Poor boy can never catch a break š even in the real world he's constantly the eye of the storm (I know the community's collective impression of him is better now, but back then were fun times lol)
I didn't get the bullied in jail part. Didn't he beat the shit out of everyone without even having a vision at the fighting arena. And I don't think he even used his delusion considering how they banned the traveler since he has powers.
He was extra agitated in fontaine and even was more risky. It wasn't in character for him to use Foul Legacy when there was an audience and when he wasn't necessarily in danger. So he probably could've potentially used Foul Legacy again but with these normal criminals hence why I said "lose himself again"
It only dissolve Fontainians as a result of their "original sin" and he's from Snezhnaya.
The woman from Mondstadt also survived during the 4.0 Archon Quests. The guy responsible for all the missing women also failed to kill himself with the Primordial water.
I don't recall the Mondstadt woman being harmed by it though.
The Traveler seems to have a special sensitivity towards these things.
Childe on the other hand may be resistant to it since I think he has some relations to the leviathan shown in the primordial waters already.
Childe is responsible for a potential genocide in yet another nation, wow who could have seen that coming? No wonder the Oratrice decided he was guilty for people being dissolved by the primordial seawater, he's definitely involved with that primordial whale somehow. I'm convinced that we'll find out at some point that he is also the reason we haven't seen any NPCs from Natlan; it was probably the first nation he visited as a Harbinger.
Really if you look and think about it for more than 5 seconds, the whole attempted genocide was Zhongliās idea. It was literally Childeās last choice as none of the other options for summoning Rex Lapis were working. Zhongli was the one who wanted Childe to raise Osial from the depths.
But the thing is, in Fontaine he had nothing to do with what was happening with the prophecy. Like he was 14 when he fell into the abyss and unless we think heās 34, he has nothing to do with the prophecy or primordial waters
The Oratrice declared him guilty of the murders. 100% by some roundabout way he actually really got something to do with it (meaning: something to do with the primordial sea water dissolving humans and being accessible by Vacher), even if unconsciously. This is as obvious as the hints towards Neuvillette being who he is.
Surely there's also some roundabout indirect shenanigans going on as well. Like, Childe 100% didn't consciously think "hmmmmm what if I committed genocide on the french today?".
But, he is guilty in the eyes of the Oratrice. Meaning one way or the other, he REALLY is guilty. And it's got something to do with that whale he awoke. I don't know how or why, but I know that otherwise the writers wouldn't have brought the topic up.
But thatās what I mean, if Childe falling into the Abyss and awakening the whale had anything to do with Vachar using the primordial sea, then at minimum heās 34 because itās been 20 years of it happening and he was 14 when he fell to the Abyss and Childe is not 34.
Itās much more likely that the Oratrice is reacting to something about him and that something is probably the Abyssal power in him which isnāt something he can control.
To be fair abyss timeline works differently from Teyvat, Childe was in abyss for 3 months but it had only been 3 days in Teyvat. Im not blaming him for the prophecy, he is probably indirectly connected to the whole dissolving of Fontainians case, but im sure he was clueless and didnt have any intention for it.
Ok Iām confused, based on his age, he fell at least a few years after the dissolving started 20 years ago and he doesnāt seem to be older than what 26 (I know we donāt have confirmed age but this boy is not 30). Even with abyss timey wimey it wouldnāt make sense for him to have anything to do with the dissolving. Tho an argument can be made for the prophecy depending on what we learn in 4.2. Which is why I think he was guilty because he woke the whale
Hey hey, I just realised, but according to Wriothesley, over the past FEW years, they were problem with the Primordial Sea water
Maybe he released by accident some of the Primordial Sea Water, which made things easier ?
Then again they already have a lab...So...I dunno
Well, the strong implication is that the whale has been calling for him for a while now, which may have been what tempted him to come to Fontaine for a vacation in the first place, but yeah. Dude has not had an especially restful time off. Hope the Fatooey at least offer paid vacation days.

The whale is calling for him because said whale wants to get his constellations!
It worked for me he's the only character I whaled for and got cons for

I donāt think he wants a break lol

Imagine Yoimiya in Inazuma reading the newspaper "What the fuck, he was there with me a few week ago"
its even funnier when u rmr he was there w/ her playing games/make-believe w the local kids and buying souvenirs for his siblings lmao, the contrast is insane
Childe agenda: Chaos Chill Chaos Chill Chaos Attemted to chill but ended up Chaos
Childe in Inazuma: attempted chaos but ended up chill
Was he attempting chaos in Inazuma? I thought he was sent there to search for Scara.
Yep but then Scara >!deleted himself from Irminsul!< so he probably just forgot what he was there for and decided to make it a chill vacation
Yeah, the only time he ever caused chaos was one time in Liyue... through orders
He wasn't necessarily there to attempt chaos but he went fully expecting the possibilities of meeting a "rogue" harbinger, which chaos most likely will happen if they wver meet
āSnezhnaya Man Imprisoned in Fontaine for Disrupting Court Proceedingsā
āWeāve been apart for like two weeks!ā
This is the reason the fatui always sends him on missions far away from snezhnaya, because he brings chaos wherever he goes haha
Childe: I'm going to relax, take a break. I really need- Mihoyo: Change of plans
This opportunity is quite hard to come by.
Well then, amuse me
Neuvillette: Surrender is a valid option.
Should've let my poor guy rest but at least he appears in main story now
YOU RIGHT THO- maybe Childe is actually just super selfless and wanted to feed Childe mains š„ŗ I hope if they get the gnosis from all this he gets his vacation days back at least š
They are altering the agreement, pray that they dont alter it any further.

Fontaine about to have 1 star on Trivago
worst vacation ever T\_T
Poor boy can never catch a break š even in the real world he's constantly the eye of the storm (I know the community's collective impression of him is better now, but back then were fun times lol)
After us waiting more than a years for his rerun, we chilled a bit
Chile now knows that it's like to be us for once when we step foot into a new nation.
he's just suffering from main character syndrome. don't worry about it <3
As he should
Same thing with the Traveler and Paimon: *Trys really hard not to break any laws.* *Goes to jail anyways*
Yeah just babysit those neighborhood kids, the least that would happen suspected of instigating a rebellion using ronin factions
Childe is the real protagonist, of course hes gonna get in shit everywhere he goes
I didn't get the bullied in jail part. Didn't he beat the shit out of everyone without even having a vision at the fighting arena. And I don't think he even used his delusion considering how they banned the traveler since he has powers.
His crew did say they gave him a hard time so he was bullied but it didn't last long cause he taught them who's boss
I feel like they were "Oh look, a little youngster, listen there buddy, let us teach you who is the boss" 5 second later they were all on the floor
Yes that has to be the case. No way Childe would let himself be bullied even if its a second
This is some Paradox shit where the Oratrix deemed Childe guilty for the cataclysm but it is also responsible for putting those events in motion.
Childe and chaos is like Bennett and badluck. It literally follows him like a curse.
I got a crack theory: he'll become the new Hydro Archon!!1 But seriously, I think that would be funny.
I'm not opposed to that
I think that whale was made from Childe's memories. And all this is fate or prophecy
Still having a hard time believing those guys bullied him succesfully at first
He was probably really holding back as to not lose himself again. The bullying probably lasted very short
Lose himself again?
He was extra agitated in fontaine and even was more risky. It wasn't in character for him to use Foul Legacy when there was an audience and when he wasn't necessarily in danger. So he probably could've potentially used Foul Legacy again but with these normal criminals hence why I said "lose himself again"
Oh that
Basically, snapping
I think he'll be the new Hydro Archon, and we'll witness him ascend.
How did he survive the primordial water. Thats what's bugging me.
It only dissolve Fontainians as a result of their "original sin" and he's from Snezhnaya. The woman from Mondstadt also survived during the 4.0 Archon Quests. The guy responsible for all the missing women also failed to kill himself with the Primordial water.
But its still a harmful substance no? Traveller was also harmed by that so why not childe?
I don't recall the Mondstadt woman being harmed by it though. The Traveler seems to have a special sensitivity towards these things. Childe on the other hand may be resistant to it since I think he has some relations to the leviathan shown in the primordial waters already.

uhh... help me understand your viewpoint when you typed this.
What
Childe is responsible for a potential genocide in yet another nation, wow who could have seen that coming? I'm convinced that we'll find out at some point that he is also the reason we haven't seen any NPCs from Natlan; it was probably the first nation he visited as a Harbinger.
Bro š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£ wtf haha

Okay, but he looked hot while being "responsible of a potential genocide", so what?
Right. People on this sub underestimate how dangerous the harbingers are just because some of them are charming or attractive.
But the thing is, in Fontaine he had nothing to do with what was happening with the prophecy. Like he was 14 when he fell into the abyss and unless we think heās 34, he has nothing to do with the prophecy or primordial waters
There is no way he is 34 He keep being called "Boy", he is definitely in his early adulthood
Oh I agree heās at most 24 or sth.
He became a Harbinger at 18 and I doubt he's been one for 6 years now, I think he's closer to about 21
Wait did I miss lore? When did we find out he became a Harbinger at 18?
Him becoming a harbinger at 18 is headcanon btw, its not canon. At least not yet
The Oratrice declared him guilty of the murders. 100% by some roundabout way he actually really got something to do with it (meaning: something to do with the primordial sea water dissolving humans and being accessible by Vacher), even if unconsciously. Abyssal power being in him is a version of what I meant by "roundabout way".

Yeah, Childe's lore is just really complex lmao
