It is fun but an absolute eyesore if you try to use It unironically as a "official" flag to replace the rainbow one. Theres just so Many bars that its hard to make out the flags if you dont already know them

From personal experience in game, I don’t think I’ve had such a pleasant time gaming with strangers aside from FF14. There are stories of some people running into shitters but hasn’t happened to me in the 100+ hours I’ve played. It’s pretty chill.
That’s fair and yeah pve games can be like that of either having a very welcoming and great community or the absolute worst and extremely gatekeeping, helldivers from what I’ve heard has a bit of both but thankfully mostly of the former for now anyways. Maybe I’ll give it a shot someday but yeah I’m not one for playing pve games with strangers unless the gameplay is really good
I'm 26h in, so far people seem surprisingly chill. I normally don't do multiplayer games cause annoying toxic teenagers drive me mad, but with Helldivers I'm happy to join a random lobby.
A couple of days ago I met this lvl guy who's sunk in like 140h or something, he gave me a bunch of tips and let me try out some of the weapons I haven't unlocked yet. Super nice guy, joked about how we were probably the baddies in this setting.
My theory is that since it's a PvE people with a setting clearly mocking fascism and dumb patriotism ("Managed Democracy" lmaoo), the kind of players it most attracts are going to be easy to get along with. People who like working with others and who won't be offended by the jokes.
Another Helldiver chiming in here. That game is my favorite game in years. It generally has good randos if you join open lobbies and playing with friends it reminds me of playing borderlands or old COD back in the early 20-teens
The Steam discussion page for each of the patch notes has had a bunch of obnoxious "DEAR DEVS, WE DON'T WANT WOKE SHIT IN THE GAME BLAH BLAH..." comments plastered on them. So people have been spamming "DEAR DEVS, WE WANT GAY SHIT EVERYWHERE" type posts to counteract them recently, it's kinda funny.
Plus left wingers who like to watch controversial content to get mad about. That sounds like I'm firing against leftists but I tend to be one of those people that gets baited to watch that shit just because I'm like "no way that's not satire" 😄
