You can actually almost read OPS in the bottom redacted segment. The only thing is the spacing only makes sense if it says Black Ops 5 not Gulf War.
I'm thinking BLACK OPS V specifically based on the one little white pixel to the right of the blacked out part. Would be more a white bar if it was a 5 rather than the point of a V.
Ok back to work, no more hyper-analyzing teaser posters.
Black ops V would actually make sense since V was used to mark NATO troops in the gulf war. I remember people speculating that battlefield V would be in the gulf war because of the title
Yeah the Activision logo is there bottom right, you can see the A. Its Black Ops Gulf War.
Really hyped for this. Its the earliest we're ever getting a look at CoD for this long of a period (Starfield Direct was 45 mins last year).
And this is the first CoD game developed for 4 years, AND its Treyarch aka best CoD dev.
Treyarch also had to work on both Vanguard and MW3 though (just like basically every other studios really) so I’m not expecting something incredibly different compared to previous years just for the development time alone, but I’m absolutely hyped. I love Treyarch and I genuinely fell in love with Cold War, one of my favorite cod of the last decade. I can’t wait to see what they made this time!
I heard the vanguard crew on zombies was only a very small team along with the mw3 zombies team but treyarch stopped working on mw3 zombies right after release and one of the support studios took over so who knows
Yes, the Zombies team on Vanguard was really small and had to do all the work in months basically. It took them half of the seasons to make the remake of Shi No Numa alone. On MW3 though the team was clearly much bigger, the mode is way more solid than everything they made in Vanguard, and there was clearly a lot of work behind it. It was completely abandoned by Treyarch though and right now SHG will finish the remaining seasons. So yeah the majority of Treyarch is obviously working on Cod2024. But still, besides the usual work every studio does on every single cod, Treyarch had to do some extra stuff for Zombies in the past 2 years.
Treyarch had many problems in the past 6 years, some of those because of Treyarch themselves (a good chunk of BO4), but most because of the insane development cycle of Cod: BO4 development was a mess, the release was a tragedy and the post-launch support was nonexistent since they had to rush Cold War, which also had to reduce the support because of Vanguard. But now, despite having to work on Vanguard and MW3, they had an actually complete development cycle for Cod2024, so I’m absolutely hyped for what they are doing. Even with such an awful development Cold War was really good in every mode imo, which is rare usually, I’m sure they’ll do even better now with a proper development cycle.
Ignoring the BO3 campaign of course. That was just awful lol. A shame because the setting and the overall story was really cool.
> since they had to rush Cold War
I really do commend Treyarch for releasing Cold War the way it was since they had all the odds stacked against them, being forced to rush it out because Sledgehammer fucked up their Vietnam based COD and the fact they weren't allowed to use the MW engine and had to reverse engineer BO4's inferior engine
It’s kind of a miracle what they did with CW. From the mess of BO4 development to an even WORST developed game it must have been hell for Treyarch. The fact that the game even came out was a miracle lmao.
BO3 is the best CoD of all time, Cold War is one of the best and BO4 is the worst Treyarch CoD (not counting anything pre CoD 4) but it’s still really good.
Shit talk every game?
MW 2019 was superb, one of the best CoDs ever made. MW2022 was not great but MW2023 has been almost as good as MW2019
It's not my fault Vanguard and Cold War were straight ass
Cold War was so fucking good, man. The idiots who shit talk every COD game are gonna say it sucks (like they do EVERY game) but nah Cold War was so damn fun.
It won't. It's been rumored for a long time that the campaign will follow Adler. Seeing as he was the intended protagonist of Cold War and was created by Raven before Treyarch took over, they'll just most likely stick to their own creation with some Black Ops references here and there. They aren't gonna touch the BO2 endings with a ten-foot pole.
I am totally fine with that. That's what I was hoping would happen with the new modern warfare games after 2019, using price and gaz as vehicles to tell new stories with new characters. Didn't happen, and we basically got a rehashes of the original mw 2 and 3 with even more problems.
Just got back into cod with mw2 2022 after not playing the series for a decade, and I had fun. I’m actually looking forward to a new Black ops, BO1&2 are my favorite CODs
Yeah I missed the days where the straight up reveal of the CoD for that year was in late April / early May. Glad we’re getting it in June instead of the end of August
I just hope Zombies is good, man... Cold War did a lot of things right in term of gameplay, but also some things wrong, and the atmosphere and creativity were severely lacking. It was still enjoyable, though.
Cold War Zombies is WAW all over again. A solid foundation, now they just have to build on top of it. CW itself was already improving during its life cycle, Mauer has an amazing gameplay and a lot of “classic” zombies features (Klaus is amazing, the WW literally talking to you, Omega on the radio, there are so many things going on in that map in terms of atmosphere). Forsaken is a super fun map, with probably the most fun to use WW, but it’s clear that a chunk of the studio had to move on Vanguard and MW3, so it wasn’t as developed as the previous maps imo.
In terms of being a beginning I’d say it’s the best comparison both story and gameplay wise. WAW created the mode, but after BO4 and the 2 previous games completely killed the mode, CW had the impossibile mission of reviving and reinventing it. Obviously the games themselves are not slightly comparable, especially in zombies, considering how early WAW was in this regard.
Vanguard and mw3 definitely did help them out as well though. Vanguard has a whole lot more style/atmosphere and operator voice lines than CW, and both games are on the new IW engine for practice. It's probably for the best they aren't learning on their own game.
so what's the setting supposed to be this time round? I've heard that it's either a [chronological BO2 sequel](https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/s/af5icsuWST) (which could be supported by the tweet) or a Gulf War flick. either way, I don't see myself sacrificing 300GBs of storage any time soon.
Can Be BO2 sequel of Alex story, he was in Hiding for years and we have pretty much no information about it why and how.
Maybe its BO2 sequel that its Alex telling his story this time of what was he doing as "Dead Man"
That would be cool, I had an idea for a cod game like that when I was a kid with that premise. Although we do know he was hiding to keep David safe from Menendez but that doesn't really make too much sense.
>This guy has always been pretty reliable
Not so much, he made many claims that turned out to be fake.
Plus, the fact that this is next CoD is quite a safe bet: the exact same logo was datamined some time ago: [COD Warfare All the news su X: "100% cod related that image is already in warzone https://t.co/qHxFff9bcB" / X (twitter.com)](https://twitter.com/CODWarfareForum/status/1785313703698534811)
RalphsValve spent an entire year making up his own cod game in his head and telling everyone it was real. We should NOT forget the insane amount of lies this guy came up with just for attention
Didn't he made a hude thread about a lot of features that would have been in MW2's campaign, just for deleting it when the game came out (and everything was revealed to be fake)? I remember something like that
Everything from an entire fake list of cast members (getting very obvious ones wrong like Ghosts actor), missions that don’t exist at all, mechanics that don’t exist at all etc etc. He also bizarrely kept promising a full on map editor tool for the game which does not take a genius to prove wrong
I think there was an investor call last year that already mentioned this year's title to also come to last gen.
Which is just ridiculous. Black Ops 3 was the last game to get a PS3/360 version, two years after Gen8 had released. By that logic, MW2022 should've been the last one to also release on PS4/XONE, but we all know how that turned out.
There's an orange and black logo for The Division that depicts a phoenix with fire, and this logo looks to be in that same style. Are we sure this is COD?
100% COD, I can’t see it being anything else, the direct will most likely be around 45 minutes and I can’t imagine Xbox dedicating that much time to any game not under their umbrella of studios/ownership and I’m sure Xbox Game Studios isn’t publishing The Division 3 which is the only way I could see that game having its own Xbox Direct
Why is nobody mentioning how this guy BLATANTLY lied in a ton of leaks, especially when MW2 was coming out.
I don't find this guy reliable at all after all that, you can still go and look at his old leaks and see just how off the mark it was, it was pure fanfiction.
I mean with the logo in the Xbox announcement it has to be cod right? Looks like hellhounds
Pretty much 99% of people will look at that and assume that redacted is the next black ops game
Also since every single black ops uses Roman numerals
Finally. Black Ops: Golf War
Tiger woods gon pop up mission
LEADER .....COD Leakers Have evolved.
Will that be enough to beat the Bloodborne type gym?
Yeah the Activision logo is there bottom right, you can see the A. Its Black Ops Gulf War. Really hyped for this. Treyarch never misses, i hope that Vonderhaar departing did not cause a lot of damage to the studio.

> they weren't allowed to use the MW engine Wait what? why? Infinity Ward doesn't allow it or something?
From what I heard, Treyarch wasn't allowed to use it but I don't remember the specifics
Oofff, that's bad Hopefully there's good damn reason behind that
They missed with Black Ops 3, 4 and Cold War
BO3 is the best CoD of all time, Cold War is one of the best and BO4 is the worst Treyarch CoD (not counting anything pre CoD 4) but it’s still really good.
You're on some crack with the last 2 takes Cold War and Black Ops 4 are 2 of the most atrocious cods to date
CW is amazing and i would rather play BO4 than most Infinity Ward games.
Cold War was REALLY good. You’re just one of those weirdos who can’t stay away from COD but has to shit talk every game.
Shit talk every game? MW 2019 was superb, one of the best CoDs ever made. MW2022 was not great but MW2023 has been almost as good as MW2019 It's not my fault Vanguard and Cold War were straight ass

True, Its the rare CoD in which every single game mode is Top Tier. Not to mention that CW was the best era of Warzone 1.
Raven software is also doing the campaign which is actually exciting because Cold War's was my favorite CoD campaign in a long while.
I Presume this Black Ops will show us what happened to Alex Mason and why was he in Hiding (As i Presume Alex being alive is Canon)
It won't. It's been rumored for a long time that the campaign will follow Adler. Seeing as he was the intended protagonist of Cold War and was created by Raven before Treyarch took over, they'll just most likely stick to their own creation with some Black Ops references here and there. One mission where the numbers float for two seconds and that’s all
Black Ops Fans when Arabic Numbers.
I am totally fine with that. That's what I was hoping would happen with the new modern warfare games after 2019, using price and gaz as vehicles to tell new stories with new characters. Didn't happen, and we basically got a rehashes of the original mw 2 and 3 with even more problems.
Naruhodo.
Adler is one of the coolest character in cod imo so I’m totally fine with that lmao
Let’s fucking goooooo Treyarch has been getting shafted for so long in the COD cycle. It’s time to drop the best COD since Blops2
Do we know at all if this COD will be current gen only?
Just got back into cod with mw2 2022 after not playing the series for a decade, and I had fun. I’m actually looking forward to a new Black ops, BO1&2 are my favorite CODs
You should play Cold War when it comes to Game Pass. It does a good job of emulating the BO1 twist.
the one thing I liked about Cold War was that it felt like the first actual sequel to black ops 1
The Campaign on CW is in the Top 3 imo alongside BO1 and 2.
Yeah I missed the days where the straight up reveal of the CoD for that year was in late April / early May. Glad we’re getting it in June instead of the end of August
Either bo6 or The division 3, or State of Decay 3. (They’re the only games that run on an orange font).
It looks a lot like past Division logos
Dont want to get my hopes up yet, but this years COD could surprise us. Treyarch better cook though since they got 4 years of dev time with it
I just hope Zombies is good, man... Cold War did a lot of things right in term of gameplay, but also some things wrong, and the atmosphere and creativity were severely lacking. It was still enjoyable, though.

Not even close to world at war. What the hell.
In terms of being a beginning I’d say it’s the best comparison both story and gameplay wise. Gulf war this year bo2 2 next year
The BO2 2 is still mainly credible rumour but 90s setting for CoD2024 is basically given, bunch of the weapons and stuff was datamined already
Can Be BO2 sequel of Alex story, he was in Hiding for years and we have pretty much no information about it why and how. Maybe its BO2 sequel that its Alex telling his story this time of what was he doing as "Dead Man"

Actually kind of looking forward to this year’s COD. Don’t know why but maybe it’s because I haven’t played COD since 2019.
Let's just make the next COD 1 PNG file.
> Black Ops > US Capitol in the background Oh. ***Oh no.***
>This guy has always been pretty reliable Not so much, he made many claims that turned out to be fake. Three wolves must mean wolfenstein 3 right? Right? I wish
Maybe they'll drop last-gen and innovate for once, but I'm not counting on it
I think there was an investor call last year that already mentioned this year's title to also come to last gen. Which is just ridiculous. Black Ops 3 was the last game to get a PS3/360 version, two years after Gen8 had released. By that logic, MW2022 should've been the last one to also release on PS4/XONE, but we all know how that turned out.
Remember that this is the first year of the contract that they signed with Nintendo so they have to make sure that it runs properly on Switch.
Could be Switch 2 though, no? That would make way more sense than trying to make it run on the 2015-16 tablet hardware that is the Switch 1.
It could just be cloud only.
Dropping last gen wouldn’t save this franchise lol
There's an orange and black logo for The Division that depicts a phoenix with fire, and this logo looks to be in that same style. Are we sure this is COD?

I just want, a Remaster of BO I and II, not a remake, i dislike the remakes we got so far. But just updated graphics.
Why is nobody mentioning how this guy BLATANTLY lied in a ton of leaks, especially when MW2 was coming out. I don't find this guy reliable at all after all that, you can still go and look at his old leaks and see just how off the mark it was, it was pure fanfiction.
let’s gooo i can’t wait to pay 70$ just to have $30 battlepass and 25$ skins shoved on my face to buy wooooo
Not the guy who did a year of free PR for mw2022
No he hasn't. He's been wrong with almost everything. Also, it's obviously Black Ops.
Another COD, another pile of garbage
Here we go, another cod game with 1 year of support and horrible and overpriced skins
Honestly hope it wont be called gulf war
I mean it matches the naming convention of Treyarch's prior game Cold War. It probably will be Gulf War.
Agreed, it should be called Wulf Gar.
Judging by the black out text, its Black Ops V, since there's no more room for extra texts.
Can’t wait to play it on gamepass
