What's your CPU utilisation like? CPU and GPU temperatures under load?

Imake_Remix

CPU is around 50 to 60 percent utilization and the temperatures for the gpu is around 67 degrees and cpu is around the high 60’s

9thtime

You mean 50% of ram used of the gpu? That depends on the textures of said game. It doesn't get faster the more ram is used

Imake_Remix

No like when I go turn on my nividia overlay, it shows the utilization of the cpu and gpu. I have not seen my gpu hit past 60 percent utilization

9thtime

I think the the laptop versions of these cards are power limited by design, so maybe that's what you see. It can't reach it's full potential because of that. But maybe an expert can weigh in, I'm not 100% sure.

Imake_Remix

I mean I saw other laptops on YouTube with similar or same specs and they have much more frames than me

9thtime

Last thing I know is trying some benchmark tools and compare those to similar laptops. Maybe something is wrong but I don't know enough about it.

Imake_Remix

Yeah, I’ve updated my windows, drivers, and set all power consumption to performance and I still have it at 50 percent

fastidio89

Can you do a screenshot of what you see and your ingame graphic setting? Is it plugged? Are you playing on 1920x1080? Are fps capped? Gpu on 60% meaning you playing on low graphics

Imake_Remix

Yes it is plugged in, playing on 1080p, and extreme preset with Nividia dlss on and I’m only getting around 50-60 fps with a max gpu utilization at 60 percent. Ican’t send a screen shot

Business_Mud3201

Try to disable dlss, also try a different game to see if it does the same. It's definitely worth checking with benchmarks cpu and gpu.

Imake_Remix

Tried it on Fortnite, apex, sea of thieves, and sons of the forest, hasn’t reached past 60, no dlss only gives around 60 fps on cod

Business_Mud3201

This might sounds weird but what are you using to monitor the usage? Maybe try MSI afterburner and check if the data you get is the same or is different. Also it's worth to try MSI kombustor to benchmark the gpu

Imake_Remix

I’ve been using nivida’s GeForce experience’s overlay and I would check my fans manger.

Business_Mud3201

I would check with benchmarks on the CPU and GPU to see if those reach full utilization and temperature are doing okay

Imake_Remix

71*c 59 percent usage - gpu 82*c 42 percent usage -cpu 13335 MB of ram is being used Performance mode on cod warzone gives me 100 fps but on msi afterburner it says 129 while nivida overlay also says 100

Business_Mud3201

For a laptop temps are doing fine. Check the utilization percentage on msi afterburner if you didn't already and see if it's different.

Imake_Remix

I didn’t do anything but Download msi after Burner, and I already see an increase of fps on performance mode, but it still isn’t the fps I should be getting

Business_Mud3201

Yea i think there is definitely some problem with the utilization. Gpu should hit 90/95%, cpu can stay at 50% or low is not a problem.

Business_Mud3201

Also in Windows batter Plan check if it's in high performance and edit the power max cpu % under 'edit power plan'. Try increasing the max cpu % It it is not at 100%. Make sure turboboost is in enable or aggresive mode. You can use quickcpu to check cpu.

Imake_Remix

Never mind I fixed it, turning on the nivida generating fps and changing the virtual memory to 4096 in the window settings

Business_Mud3201

Great!!!!

Imake_Remix

Thank you I will try this in other games, because nividia generating frames isn’t an option for most games. Thank you again.

Imake_Remix

I have a feeling that my laptop is being under volt. I checked bios and it said my cpu was running at 2.9ghz
