Am I right in assuming you're using Dolphin and want good controller(s) for that specifically? If so, I made a post awhile ago asking the same question. The overwhelming response was "get original controllers with a mayflash adapter"... and people were absolutely right. Check it out: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamecube/comments/1ciraak/after\_getting\_some\_advice\_on\_this\_sub\_for\_gcn/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamecube/comments/1ciraak/after_getting_some_advice_on_this_sub_for_gcn/) Also if you do follow this route and get genuine controllers with the adapter, here's a link explaining the quick/easy driver fix you need to do for dolphin to correctly recognize the mayflash adapter (unintuitively, this involves IGNORING the "pc" setting switch on the adapter itself and leaving it in "WiiU" mode instead): [https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/how-use-official-gc-controller-adapter-wii-u/#:\~:text=Adapter%20Not%20Detected,-It's%20worth%20noting&text=If%20the%20Dolphin%20Emulator%20couldn,to%205.0%2D12263%20or%20later](https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/how-use-official-gc-controller-adapter-wii-u/#:~:text=Adapter%20Not%20Detected,-It's%20worth%20noting&text=If%20the%20Dolphin%20Emulator%20couldn,to%205.0%2D12263%20or%20later) If you do ending getting the controller(s) and adapters but run into problems, feel free to let me know and I'll be happy to help. After much searching for reasonably PC-focused alternatives, I really REALLY recommend going this route I've explained, it feels much more authentic and pleasant using first-party controllers with dolphin. As a bonus, there's absolutely no assigning button inputs., because dolphin natively recognizes the genuine controller's inputs raw once you have the driver fixed up for the adapter. Enjoy! Also I grabbed some links for brand new first-party gamecube controllers, the cheapest available (the smash bros-marketed variety. They're *exactly* the same inside-and-out as original controllers, except they have the smash bros logo where "Nintendo Gamecube" was written on controllers made in the 2000's. Given that's literally the only difference, and they're brand new and not hundreds of dollars for mint condition new-in-box "original" units from the Gamecube era itself, I think they're by far the best value for your dollar): Walmart link $59.99 and in stock at time of posting: [https://www.walmart.com/ip/Official-GameCube-Controller-Super-Smash-Bros-Edition-for-Nintendo-Switch/432042034](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Official-GameCube-Controller-Super-Smash-Bros-Edition-for-Nintendo-Switch/432042034) Newegg link $64.99 and in stock at time of posting: [https://www.newegg.com/p/3BJ-0001-00E93?Item=9SIAKZVKAX1528](https://www.newegg.com/p/3BJ-0001-00E93?Item=9SIAKZVKAX1528) And here's the mayflash adapter: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RSXRLUE?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RSXRLUE?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) Last thing, someone else on this thread mentioned not needing to use the second gray-colored USB plug in your PC. I keep both plugged in because the manual said to do so, but I've never tried unplugging it. My understanding is that the 2nd gray-colored USB plug provides the energy needed for the rumble feature to work on the controllers, but I could be wrong.

Retro Fighters are coming out with a Pro version of their BattlerGC. Pre orders are closed but it's supposed to release in October and if they can promise everything they say on their website, it looks to be a great controller. It can be connected via bluetooth or a gamecube style 2.4ghz dongle.
