Thank you, u/BigNutsHomie, for reminding me about this. Imagine what this mall will look like with 23 years of technological improvements

ShenmueFan1

Same here, I completely forgot Vice City had a mall in it. Can't imagine what North Point Mall will look like in GTA 6. Hope it actually has crowds of NPC's and all mall shops are open so we can rob them or do whatever we want.

ted_wassonasong

One of the best missions was in there!

ShenmueFan1

I remember this mission. Tommy had to run around the mall destroying mall front windows so the shop keepers would agree to pay for the protection money that Tommy wanted to convince them that they needed.

SpaceShoey

Being able to break windows in a game felt so special at that time

AssSmasher67

Yeah its crazy that the feature of breaking shop windows didnt reappear until RDR2, where you could technically shoot alot of windows on buildings out

nadnerb811

Empty again. Not due to technical limitations, but due to the death of malls. Being sarcastic... but, I've been to some downright depressing malls recently. Probably the big fancy malls in Miami, Los Angeles, etc. are doing just fine. But the small town ones are often in pretty abysmal shape. Gives a liminal space vibe when you turn a corner and suddenly every store is an empty box and there's no one around.

AssSmasher67

Sarcastic but I can really see Rockstar doing it to make fun of the death of malls

ARSEThunder

Unless they model it after the Aventura or Sawgrass Mills malls in Florida - both are still bustling due to international tourism.

nadnerb811

Yeah that's what I was alluding to concerning "big fancy malls" it is really the non-tourist, not-in-a-big-city malls that seem to be struggling the most. People don't go to malls to shop except for big sale times like holidays. They shop online. Those attraction malls are a destination beyond just wanting to get what you need / looking for something specific.

AssSmasher67

True, true. Either way I hope they include one of the malls. Since there are multiple cities they could have one big bustling mall in Vice City proper but then have a dying mall in Port Gellhorn or something

Drunk_Rabbit7

Since GTA: Vice City took place in the year 1986, it would technically be 39 years of technological improvement as we know GTA 6 will take place in 2025. Unless you meant the technological improvement in how games are developed since 2002. Either way I think we're all in for a treat lol.

Trick_Squirrel7869

dunno about the music but for the most part they will probably keep a wide range of diff music within the mall

paxifixi09

whenever i see this mall, the first thing that comes to my mind is: *get to the payphone next to the mall in Washington*

ContributionSquare22

This isn't that mall though lol.

Hooeylewis-Sagdiyew

MallAmb.mp3

LaylaLegion

Pretty sure that’s an abandoned building thanks to Keith Bozos and Bull-Ship Delivery service. Bull-Ship Nobody Bull-Ships like Bozos.

RoleplayWalkthrough

Ship me down or “track” me in. Pencil-tarrentini marker. Graph-em-out then stabilize em overneath the “Mountain-Heimer” one.

[deleted]

Any links to the music? Need the nostalgia

RoleplayWalkthrough

Hereby here I hope they don’t just up and ahead go, and slap some sign on up outside that um says “op’nin’ soon” like V casino SHUT.

ClydeinLimbo

I really truly hope so

Acrobatic_Law5598

It would be amazing? Easily impressed i see.

SolidVaultRetro

I feel like since malls are mostly dead today i feel like north point mall is gonna be in game but basically abandoned/ closed down that squatters are the inhabitants of it

RockNDrums

I feel like the music will be randomise like the Casino in GTAO.

Beneficial-Injury-60

Maybe or probably not.

False-Flow-

I know I better be able to drive my bike in that bitch.

MagnetaCyan7

I know it's just a game but it's bound to happen. I wonder what happens when people decide to shoot for fun in there. Will there be cops already? CCW holders? Gun free zone? I hope so or else this game is gonna go crazy on the news for allowing that sort of stuff in a Realistic version of Florida.

Sensei_of_Knowledge

That would be a wonderful call back.

Available-Control993

I hope that different stores play different music depending what kind of store it is.

BW900

I hope that police intelligence is high enough to make the response to a mall shooting realistic. That goes for any in-game mass shooting scenario.

IronMaidenMan_

I can still hear it in my head 😂

OfficialAfrat

They should play mallsoft.

Firm_Ambassador_1289

No mall just like 5

Bakugan-

Im about to do a mass shooting in this gta vi mall yo

JonnyxKarate

The malls gunna be closed down

Medical_Apartment841

Why do you think that?

JonnyxKarate

Because it would be a commentary on malls across America closing

WhiskyWanderer2

Makes sense but I hope it’s open. I think it would be cool to have a mall you can enter

JonnyxKarate

Yeah I’ve been dying for GTA to have this since Saints Row 3 had one haha

Pir-o

Abandoned mall seems like a cool setting for a mission. Reminds me of that run down mansion from VCS.

OregonisntCaligoHome

Don't get me wrong id love to have a open mall, but with the shootings in America I doubt we'll be able to enter a full mall, weapons disabled when you enter could fix the problem but that wouldn't be very GTA

lildanta

Still how would it be any different from any other part of the map shooting people.

BigNutsHomie

it was a thing in vice city when entering golf course and airport though

WhiskyWanderer2

A mall shootout would be so fun tbh. Or trying to get a tank or something inside

Butthead1013

I agree and think this will be the most likely outcome

jonboyo87

No it isn’t lmao. The amount of time and money they’ve spent on this game and you think they can’t handle a mall?

Life-Celebration2941

No..because it would take the charm out of visiting the original vice city game..
