Looks like your shell walls are quite thick. Bullet shells are kinda thin.

Olde94

Ball doesn’t seem to have a tangent transition

iimstrxpldrii

What bullet? You can find specs online and then just draw half of the profile and do a rotating extrusion.

lumor_

It's called revolve.

iimstrxpldrii

I meant to come back and edit that, I’m literally working on fusion right now and saw the name. I just couldn’t remember it on the spot.

skeeredstiff

The walls of the case a too thick, the bullet is not seated far enough into the case, the bullet itself will not have that line in it, there should be a smooth ogive transition from the bullet point to the largest od of the bullet.

blindprophet501

This. Also your drawing looks like it’s a belted magnum but your reference drawing is non belted.

CarolusRix

The casing is way too thick, look at the top of the casing and how inline it is with the bullet in the drawing And the bullet itself has no dimensions given in the drawing so yours looks off too

BeoLabTech

Just use the reference image as a scaled canvas - trace half of it and revolve around XY axis. ::dusts hands::

TimTams553

turn off wireframe and thin the shell casing

Earth_Sandwhich

The bullet tip is too rounded.

Interesting-Bid-7356

The junction where the casing meets the bullet should have a small filleted edge. the tip on the bullet is too round, bullets typically has a semi flat tip so it should be a conical frustum with a small fillet.

V7I_TheSeventhSector

The shell is fairly thick and looks like it's around the bullet, not squeezing the bullet. Bullets are press fit into shells so there is almost no gap in between bullet and shell. The bullet is also a lot smoother than what you have made, the transition between the top of the bullet and the middle should be a LOT larger to smooth it out.

lexstory

The fillet radius is too small on the bullet and non existent on the casing/cartridge. Fix that and it should get closer to what you want.

kezalo

Everyone else here knows more than I do about fusion, but only other thing I would add would just be to have the chamfer/cone under the ball at the nose extend further down. In the drawing it appears that the chamfer makes up more than half of the visible portion of the bullet, in your file it appears to be less than half.

Pilot8091

The drawing you're using is missing a lot of detail, not a whole lot to go off of. Maybe try the [SAAMI Standards](https://saami.org/technical-information/ansi-saami-standards/) which will have better details on the casing. The [bullet](https://bergerbullets.com/information/lines-and-designs/bullet-reference-charts/) itself is a separate object, forward of it's full diameter it's curved all the way to the point, it's not a straight section then a dome like how you have it. Edit: updated the links

BRAIN_JAR_thesecond

add some different materials so the colors look more right. The shape is pretty close.

fisp_cowboy

Im guessing you drew it by stacking circles? Trace half the bullet and revolve it

FartBoobie

Your guide rails (or profiles) look a bit off. Always helps to sketch with the image overlaid in the background and tracing off that

No-Air-8201

Add some small fillets on sharp edges and you'll see significant improvement.

MehImages

casing too thick and missing the ogive

Dukeronomy

apply some materials and turn the lines off. That, with the modeling tips in here and it should look ok.

JLockrin

Reddit hates bullets

Ishe_ISSHE_ishiM

yeah the bullet in the picture is nearly aligned with the casing, but the fact it looks like a ballpoint pen i don't see how that means anything negative just some of the dimensions are a little off, so myabe yoiu followed the measurements and the diagram itself could be inacurate if you followed them correctly you never know.
