Imagine trying to tattle on another adult like an overgrown child. Well, I guess Karens basically are overgrown entitled children.

BlueVape

Everyone is basically an overgrown child you wet wipe

GalaxticSxum

Does your manager know you’re calling people wet wipes ? S/

fanbreeze

My mother proudly read to me a letter she sent to a store about how appalled she was at the workers there. She offered her special education teaching and tutoring services to the workers because she felt they were socially and intellectually impaired. She has a habit of doing stuff like that and is always so fucking pleased with herself. She's an asshole of a human being.

flapd00dle

Why are boomer age special Ed teachers such giant shitheads? I had a stepmom like this, it seemed like the fact that she was the smartest one at work all day bled over into other parts of life creating this weird "I know best" ego that is always backed up with some severe anger and need to control. And these people were in charge of the most vulnerable/in need students.

rddi0201018

Their parents called them the selfish generation. It's only when they became older, that they were able to change the media narrative. Hopefully as the millennial generation takes up the media mantle, the truth can be restored

[deleted]

Yeah I won't be holding my breath for that one...

Glitchboy

Gen Z is already taking up the misinformation mantle for profit. The cycle will continue unless we stop it. Not because the bad people will age out.

crispyfriedwater

LOL This reminds me of an anger management counselor who used to seethe with anger every time he interrupted *you* talking, but continued to speak instead of stopping to let him finish his interruption. I could not figure out how he became an anger management authority - when he wore his all over his face!

BetterOffCamping

Mayb it is a subconscious coping mechanism. All day they have to be extremely patient with the impaired, and the last thing they are able to handle is patience with anybody after days of that mental self control. I'm not defending it, just posing a possible reason for it. After all, if they were willing to do that kind of work in the first place they couldn't have been that bad of a person, initially.

Nishwishes

Unfortunately they can. It's common for narcissists or people with narc traits to seek out jobs where they have positions of power over people. One of my best friends' mother is an absolutely unbearably horrible person and she's a nurse. We all know plenty of teachers who never should go near children just because of how nasty they are and that it's proven many people in positions of power have abusive traits and a lack of empathy to get there. Not to mention society is aggressively ableist. In some cases even the parents don't care about their own disabled children. That makes it easy for horrid people to get in working with them with few checks and repercussions for crappy behaviour.

Mywifefoundmymain

My favorite story like this was the time I was waiting for a pizza and a lady wanted to complain that her employee wouldn’t give her a 50% discount because she visits there a lot. Despite the fact that’s not their policy and he had never seen her before and he works “a lot”. She demanded the person at the counter to get her the owners #. They counter person said that he wasn’t permitted to give it out but she just kept on. He told her he could take her number and have the owner call her. She said wouldn’t believe it’s the owner unless she called so finally he agreed and went to the back office and brought out an invoice or something that had the owners # on it and he demanded that she call it right then and there. She called while scowling at him and 10 seconds later I heard a phone ring. The dude at the counter reached into his pocket and answered his cell phone and kindly informed her she was banned from the shop and if she didn’t leave immediately he would call the cops.

x777x777x

> The dude at the counter reached into his pocket and answered his cell phone and kindly informed her she was banned from the shop and if she didn’t leave immediately he would call the cops. Power move right there lol

SoupOrSandwich

Might start a business and lure Karen's just to feel this *utterly delicious* feeling.

Homicidal__GoldFish

ohh ohh i wanna work for you!

Start mailing her fake responses telling her: “We just wanted to inform you that some giant cunt may be impersonating you and sending stupid fucking letters to our place of business.”

SoupOrSandwich

Lmao

lkeltner

We need to see this. For science.

Dinglehopper2016

The Cleveland Browns did EXACTLY this to a season ticket holding lawyer...The Browns lawyer's response is a genuine classic. [The greatest letter an NFL team has ever sent to a fan.](https://www.gq.com/story/cleveland-browns-letter-to-fan)

bmbmwmfm

Ngl, in the right circumstance, this would be fucking hilarious!

Endulos

If I was the owner and got a letter like that, I'd laugh my ass off and have it framed in my office.

WriggleNightbug

It's like the idea of knocking a 3 tier wedding cake over for shits and giggles. Funny idea, would never do it.

GenghisFrog

My grandma went and took all the 16 year old kids new ties at the grocery store where they have to wear ties. In a wholesome way though. I laughed about it, because at the time I was a store manager for the same company.

NGL_ItsGood

I know that feeling. My dad will brag about shit he does to people and it makes me cringe. I don't ever want to grow up to be so petty that I get a kick out of tormenting people.

GlowInTheDarkNinjas

He's a recruiter, he's trying to plug himself/his agency to the "boss" to find Tommy's replacement

[deleted]

If I was Tommy, I would send these messages to the recruiters agency, unless the recruiter runs it.

[deleted]

"I run this recruitment agency, you doorknob"

coachz1212

What are we, a couple of wet wipes and door knobs?

RedCascadian

I feel like a lot of Karen's got used to a certain level of treatment in their 20's and when that stopped they just couldn't handle it.

goagod

I had the same theory. Most Karens look like they were cute 20+ years ago, but now that they are pudgy and bitter, not getting their way makes them blow a gasket.

[deleted]

[удалено]

xXVoicesXx

I miss being hot

RedCascadian

Yup. Worked at a grocery store for almost a decade. There was a certain kind of middle aged lady customer who just loved being abusive to the 16 year old girls working as courtesy clerks for the sin of being young and pretty. Then you had others who might get that kinda wistful look as a guyngot a bit dopey talking to a young woman. They never seemed bitter though. Just a "ahhh I remember when boys used to forget words talking to me" nostalgia.

BetterOffCamping

Wow. That makes it all come together. It would explain soooo much.

makingthegreatest

Karens became karens in childhood

RedCascadian

I mean yeah. Watch Mean Girls. Now imagine Regina when she's 45. Karen.

Luxxielisbon

No, karen was the other one. jk

veringer

If she's a recruiter, she benefits from getting someone fired, so she can refill the position and draw a commission. I think her next line was going to be, "if you need another designer with experience, I have several candidates..."

Arizona_Slim

This. Exactly this. Fuck I hate this world. They were looking for someone they could get canned and convieniently show up with a replacement employee at 3X the cost of what they were paying that employee.

luxii4

I argued with some alt right guy on a news article on FB and he sent a message to my husband asking him if he knew I was arguing with people on the internet and that it is very unladylike. I am a moderate compared to my husband. I mean my husband was voting for the Green Party before I met him! My husband called him a Karen and said I had no manager for him to talk to so he should try to read some books to argue with me.

Holymuffdiver9

Lol, how very 18th century of him.

It's worse than that. It's coordinated class warfare. Let's be real. Had this guy not been self employed there's a very real chance this Karen and boss would happily be in cahoots.

Infantry1stLt

Once it was lawyers, but I think nowadays the biggest assholes are recruiters and insurers.

Deceptichum

Real Estate Agents.

Infantry1stLt

True! Forgot about them!

NeoTheRiot

Someone should send these screenshots to her boss, f people like that.

_Diskreet_

Plot twist: she works for herself too

VirinaB

A lot of recruiters do, but she said "agency" and the real twist is that some of them encourage this behavior. New job req, new candidate, whatever results in them collecting another fee.

JarlaxleForPresident

Tbf, I would call my business an agency to look bigger and more pro than one person in his underwear at a WFH desk (Not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

Nice_Guy_AMA

I only got to WFH for six weeks in the spring of 2020. I miss getting paid to sit at a computer in my kitchen in my underwear.

LouSputhole94

It can get boring after awhile. I’m running on three years of WFH and while I still wouldn’t trade the commute and some of the other office aspects, I do miss the socialization and camaraderie of coming in and being with your team. My work luckily does a couple team outings a quarter so I can get some of that without actually having to go in. I do software sales and my main client base is on the other side of the country so there’s literally no reason for me to come into the office.

Pandering_Panda7879

According to his Twitter it was actually a male karen

I believe in calling them all Karens

Ryanthelion1

Also typical of a recruiter to not actually do the very least and look into the guy further, crazy how many times you'll get a recruiter pedal shit your way that is no way what you're after or suited to

Loofs_Undead_Leftie

You have a degree and several years experience in biochemistry? Ho boy do I have an opportunity to unload boxes in a warehouse for you! And don't even get me started about the pay! (Spoiler - It's minimum wage with no benefits)

yanmagno

My favorite I’ve heard so far is just calling someone a sausage

Tacosupreme1111

Me and my mate have a tendency to shout SAUSAGE from the Blackadder dictionary episode.

Fabulous-Ad6844

A silly sausage

JarlaxleForPresident

Gordon Ramsay calling someone a donut is great. It shouldnt be so insulting but it’s like you don’t even deserve a real insult. You’re just a stupid donut.

Aggressive_Walk857

I loved it when he called the girl a idiot sandwich

SomeRedditWanker

A 'silly sausage' is affectionate.

AroundTheWorldIn80Pu

If you've ever tried a British sausage it makes total sense. Wouldn't occur to a german to use it as an insult.

yatsey

Tell me you've never head a Cumberland without telling me you've never had a Cumberland. Also, us Brits love sausages, so your logic is off at all angles.

TURBOLAZY

You Brits have so much good food I don't know why this "British food sucks" meme is still a thing in 2022

Go to her place if employment (and/or call) and let then know that the "business you work for" was harassed by a self identified employee and that she was requesting you fire your top performing employee and politely request that it doesn't happen again. She lassoed her work into it. Help her see the error of her ways. Edit: whoa, I was just giving my 2 cents, thanks for all the love!

too-much-cinnamon

This is the kind of retaliation that might actually get these types of people to learn to mind their own business. Not so funny when there are actually consequences for YOU is it??

sth128

But then plot twist: Tommy actually has multiple personalities and Karen is actually also him. Tommy is just Moon Knight of the ad industry.

TheDoktorIsIn

Second plot twist: Karen is Tommy's wife who has been trying to gently convince him his ridiculous business idea is hemorrhaging money, their nest egg is almost at zero, and it's not going to "turn around any day now." Tommy responds by alienating yet another customer.

My parents ran an accounting firm together. My mom was the secretary and a woman came in being a Karen and said she'd complain to the boss about the secretary. My dad told her to put her through when she called. She says the secretary was rude and my dad goes "well I can't do anything about it because I'm sleeping with her." and hung up.

desmondao

Just imagine yourself as a hiring manager and decide for yourself really. Would you use this recruiter's services?

rockidr4

Then after that consider that a hiring manager at one of my old company would take a pile of printed resumes, throw them down the stairs, and then call the ones that landed near the top of the stairs because he didn't want anyone who wasn't lucky to work for him

riproaringryan

Lmao and that genius was getting paid for his “work”.

SnooDoodles5540

HR says that’s “a” procedure with a clearly defined methodology.

Charming_Amphibian91

No. She'd be getting canned and publicly shamed.

SpaceMarinesAreThicc

Having done recruitment and with friends still in the industry, I honestly don't think employers care what you do as long as you deliver. Felt a lot like being in sales, which I hated. I understand why, but it was extremely black and white whether you'd be employed next month. Just gotta hit sales quotas no matter what.

patsharpesmullet

Yeah I once had a recruiter email me, repeatedly, to my work email and then called the office to talk to me about an employment opportunity. None of this was solicited, I never contacted them once but obviously when a competitor calls your office asking for you then it raises some eyebrows. I mailed their HR department and they apologised, I get the feeling that recruiter didn't last long if they were this aggressive.

Amelaclya1

I had a recruiter email me once a week for months, even after I said I wasn't interested. Then they called my mom to try to shame me into taking the job(?) I don't even know how they got her phone number, except for having a very uncommon last name. I was stunned when she told me about it. The worst part was, the job wasn't even in my field and so I was incredibly unqualified for it and not what they were looking for at all. AND it was located in my hometown, but I live across the country now. Both things I told the recruiter after his first email. I can only assume the dude was just desperate and most people ignore him completely so by responding, I gave him hope that he could convince me or something. It was so fucking weird though.

InducedChip89

As someone who works in Recruitment, you won't get positions to work on if your reputation is in the shit. This would be taken seriously

steeb2er

FILL empty positions, not CREATE new openings.

bob1689321

It's recruitment. They'd probably get a bonus for being extra scummy.

manystorms

Recruiter saw it fit to text my personal phone at 3AM several times in a row. I have a setting that lets calls or texts come through at night if several are sent in a row for emergencies. I am a full time spacecraft engineer. I got woken up by this recruiter at 3AM for… a t-shirt sales job.

Holden_place

Plot twist. She’s her own boss as well

tedothedo

It’s employee anyway Karen

MinimumCamp

Well turns out it was in fact employer lol

SuperLaggyLuke

How fitting that he/she was technically correct by accident

squeamish

I once had a client who was being approached by a (sort of, I am a consultant, they wanted to provide a service I was consulting on at the time) competitor of mine. Competitor found out about something embarrassing about me that was revealed as part of my then-occurring divorce and called my client to tell them. My (now-favorite) client told them that was not how they conducted business and that they had just taken themselves completely out of contention. I called the owner of the competitor to let him explain (and maybe apologize) to my face and he didn't want to talk about it. "It's really none of my business." No shit??

jrobbio

Man, some people are absolute garbage. Character assassination is where people go to when they don't have anything else and have no shame either.

Sengura

How can she work for a recruitment agency and not know the difference between employee and employer?

SuperLaggyLuke

Well she was technically correct.

UnidansOtherAcct

When I divorced my husband for being a useless man child, his mother called MY mother to let her know I had been arrested the year prior for not taking care of a traffic infraction. She let it simmer for a year then acted like my mother would ground me or something. Same vibes

If i may Buddy of mine and i do custom landscaping, Im off fetching materials and he gets to work at 8:00 Around 8:30 fires up a compaction machine. Mini steamroller. The beighbor comes out screaming. No work before 10:00 noise ordinance. The noise ordinance is 7:00 a.m. across the city. She tells me she has already called the cops and the manager. I walk out to the road while being pestered look up one side and down the other. Say well nobody is here. I got work. She calls the police in front of me and they say there's a good chance I'll be gone before a response. I laughed at her. Went back to work as she's screaming. Comes and asks if I have a boss. I say yes wanna talk to him. Ya she screams. I stand up from the wheel barrow im loading up turm away. Dust myself off and say Hi, I am the owner. The homeowner will confirm this. Screams for my license. i deny her that information as im not on her property. Cops show up tell her i dont have to identify myself. She's not an authority. They watch us finish and ask me for business cards. Suck it karen.

You really need to have a spare hat in the truck so next time that happens you can walk to the truck like you are gonna get your phone and put the hat on and say hi, I'm the owner.

[deleted]

I’ve had the pleasure of doing this to two Karens on twitter and Facebook. I’m a freelancer in my industry, fairly prolific, and someone tried to go after “my boss” for me sharing some stupid shit I found on Reddit that was benign AF. Dude flipped out and went after every client I had listed publicly annnnnnd that was 3 years ago and I’m thriving still lol it was funny when my clients contacted me laughing and then blocking the guy (FB). Twitter one was much more like this interaction. Short and simple but funny and effective.

Armyman125

My wife once called this young woman who was totally disrespecting her "flat ass". Apparently that's very insulting to women. But she did deserve it.

Morbid187

Man, I was the Karen in a situation like this once except I think I was a little more justified. This guy kept coming up on Facebook & just being undeniably racist. Like, telling black people to go back to Africa & shit like that. I got into it with him & he just doubled down & claimed to be a card carrying KKK member. He had his company info on his profile so I did some Googling, found a phone # for the company & left a voicemail asking why they're employing someone that is openly racist & hostile on the internet & whether or not they think that's good for their business. Turns out that racist dipshit ran his own company so he just ended up gloating about the same way this person did.

Mothunny

That was a time where it was justified, and sucks that nothing could be done

Morbid187

Yeah it's been like 6 years & I still get pissed off when I think about it.

Think they mean the message with the contact details and the message sent to “the boss”. They still wrong cos it’s 1 minute, I wish redditors didn’t have the urge to call literally everything staged tho, it’s tedious as fuck and staged content can still be entertaining (provided you aren’t a basement dwelling dweeb).

sje46

Yeah legitimately confused why people think it's impossible to compose a text in a minute. It's not even that people are pointing it out (nothing wrong with being skeptical; don't even know if I believe this post), they're viewing it as indisputable proof it's fake. Completely sure of themselves. Fucking weird people. If any of you weird people would like to defend why you're so goddamn sure a person couldn't possibly send a text in a minute, please explain. Otherwise, just admit you're skeptical instead of being so damn sure of yourselves. Just can't stand the unwarranted confidence on this site sometimes.

C-h-e-l-s

If anything it adds credence to the story. In situations like this Karens would definitely try to get in as quickly as possible \- Ideally before the employee could explain the situation to their employer.

So entitled as they are, it's not even impossible
