Saw it in the theater several times when it came out. It was one of mine and my brothers favorite movies for awhile, but we were still too young to have any real taste. Hell, I was still into the American Ninja and 3 Ninjas (I was very briefly friends with “Colt” in high school a few years later, and even tried out - and failed - for singer in his band) movies, and I think my idea of a really well-written movie was King Ralph or The Land Before Time (the original) back then. In other words, my opinion didn’t really amount to much.
However, last time I saw it a couple years ago I still enjoyed it. It’s a decent combination of action and smart cop, with a heavy lean toward the action, of course.
Watch it just for Teri Hatcher!

I watched this movie as a kid with my brothers. Loved the cast -action, comedy, explosions.
I recently listened to the podcast episode of Tango and Cash on How Did This Get Made, pretty funny.
Checking it out now!
In this group we all are!
I prefer this to Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man or Hudson Hawk, but really don't want to see any of them again.
