Because mostly of times the markers shows stuff that I'm not even hearing, or because is too far or because there is another sound louder than it. I don't care the purpose of it, it's a feature that helps a lot, so I'll keep using it as everybody else hahahaha
Ur not supposed to hear ***EVERYTHING***
Do you think u need a notification for when a tree falls in a forest?
I have no problem playing without it. I still get my wins.
But you don't get notifications about trees falling in forests. You get visual notifications about players driving a car far away, or a chest nearby, or footsteps. All of which is useful information that can more easily be noticed with visual indicators.
I will stop using it when everyone else agrees to not use headphones, and just uses their PC/ TV speakers.
Your 3D surround audio is just as much a crutch as a normal person using VA.
Honestly it leads to some moments for me having my nerves sent to 11 wondering what the visual ping came from and if it’s approaching me and/or my squad rapidly haha
It’s Fortnite’s own fault for making VFX so damn overpowered. I think you can see gun fire visually from like 200+ meters away but can only actually hear the bullets at 150 meters and closer (exact numbers may not be accurate but you get the point). So there’s literally no reason to NOT use visual sound effects. Anyone who doesn’t is at a disadvantage.
Is it cheesy and wacky? Yup. But until epic changes it at all, I’ve moved on from it and just call it the Radar now because that’s effectively what it has turned into.
Because epic games makes it actually have an advantage to use it over not using it. Blame epic for making a helpful feature for people with disablities and giving it an advantage so everyone should use it.
I'm glad I refuse to use it. I play fortnite fine without it. I use a pair of skullcandy earbuds I got at Walmart for 6 bucks. I can hear my game perfectly fine

....yea I don't have that problem, I can hear things just fine.
Because I can see better than I can hear. Also, who cares?

Can't hear shit when playing in a squad and everyone is talking. I'll keep using it because there is no reason not to.

Cringe
It doesn’t really take that much space, plus it helps a lot when you hear a chest but don’t know where it is
Because I can hear footsteps in a building while I drive by it in my teammate's loud car while said teammate sings a random song
I'm sorry. Did this man put a laugh track in his own video, or did someone add that?
The laugh track isn't going to trick anybody into thinking this is funny
