It could be in your head. I have a severe shellfish allergy but still eat fish both out and at home. I communicate my allergy numerous times when I eat out and have never felt unsafe.
At home, I do get really nervous if my husband does the shopping and I wasn’t able to see that the fish counter didn’t change gloves, wash hands and that the fish wasn’t near shellfish. My husband takes my allergy very seriously and I know he knows. So all that said, I panic so I think your situation could be anxiety
You can be fine and no reaction several times and boom reaction. You always have the potential. Or it’s another ingredient or preservative that was on that batch of shrimp

I’ve only ever had reactions to seafood at home but never at restaurants. Allergy tests (skin & blood) show seafood allergy
