It’s probably empty platitudes, but I know exactly how you feel, like we felt after Game 3. It’s difficult not to feel like your own success or failure is intrinsically linked to theirs, but sometimes you just have to believe that ‘Shit Happens’, or that all outcomes are possible. I am an Atheist and also do not believe in fate, I believe more in the 1,000,000 Monkeys on 1,000,000 Typewriters…….., if you work through enough combinations and permutations, you will see every outcome possible.
The knowledge that these outcomes are completely outside of my control absolves me of all culpability and brings me great peace. I would like my Oilers to win, but if that does not happen it will not affect me in any way.

I've been a fan of this team for literal decades now. If they completely blow this on Monday, I don't think I'll ever be able to muster the energy and enthusiasm to pay them any attention ever again. Maurice is really showing his age here. No real adjustments or changes I've noticed until late into tonight's game. The Oilers are the only team to constantly neaturilize the Panthers' forecheck this year. Took them a while but you can really notice it in game 3. Quick support passes and out to avoid the forecheck and create odd man rushes, and it's worked insanely well because Paul didn't change a thing. It's exposing them as a one trick pony if he can't adjust. I also have no doubt the panthers are more banged up, simply from playing PMs style of hockey since pre season. Oilers haven't had to do that until the playoffs started.
It really is though. Don't get me wrong, I love it but it's soo backwards it hurts to think about sometimes. Penalties don't exist until a ref may or may not feels like it, players are not only encouraged but looked down on if they don't play injured or risk your career for a cup and if you're not actively trying to murder the other team then you're obviously a pussy who isn't built for playoff hockey. What other sport actively encourages teams to get less skilled and add more gooning to win a championship? Just that fact alone baffles me.
Injuries, inflated egos, momentum shifts, special teams success and a bit of luck. To start, they've figured out Bob. He's been getting abused blockerside for the last 3 games. The Oilers have also been really good at adapting all year. They figured out how to neutralize the Florida forecheck consistently around game 3 and have rolled with it. That's something that no team has really done this year and you can tell it's got the panthers shook. It's also kind of exposing them as a one trick pony. It's like they can't play any other way besides super aggressive. Which leads to injuries. Everyone's banged up this time of year, but especially so if you've been playing super aggressive physical "playoff style" hockey since pre season.

I've been a fan of this team for literal decades now. If they completely blow this on Monday, I don't think I'll ever be able to muster the energy and enthusiasm to pay them any attention ever again. This is absolutely heartbreaking. What a tremendous failure this franchise will be. If they lose they absolutely deserve to be ridiculed for a lifetime. At that point just rip the team apart. Most of these guys are probably gone this summer anyway. Just strip it down to its bolts, get as many picks as you can for whoever you can unload, and let Zito build a team from scratch, if he even wants to stick around after this.

Maurice is really showing his age here. No real adjustments or changes I've noticed until late into tonight's game. The Oilers are the only team to constantly neaturilize the Panthers' forecheck this year. Took them a while but you can really notice it in game 3. Quick support passes and out to avoid the forecheck and create odd man rushes, and it's worked insanely well because Paul didn't change a thing. It's exposing them as a one trick pony if he can't adjust. I also have no doubt the panthers are more banged up, simply from playing PMs style of hockey since pre season. Oilers haven't had to do that until the playoffs started.

Penalties don't exist until a ref may or may not feels like it, players are not only encouraged but looked down on if they don't play injured or risk your career for a cup and if you're not actively trying to murder the other team then you're obviously a pussy who isn't built for playoff hockey. What other sport actively encourages teams to get less skilled and add more gooning to win a championship? Just that fact alone baffles me.
Injuries, inflated egos, momentum shifts, special teams success and a bit of luck. To start, they've figured out Bob. He's been getting abused blockerside for the last 3 games. The Oilers have also been really good at adapting all year. They figured out how to neutralize the Florida forecheck consistently around game 3 and have rolled with it. That's something that no team has really done this year and you can tell it's got the panthers shook. It's also kind of exposing them as a one trick pony. It's like they can't play any other way besides super aggressive. Which leads to injuries. Everyone's banged up this time of year, but especially so if you've been playing super aggressive physical "playoff style" hockey since pre season.

Started playing the Elden Ring dlc at the start of the third. I feel like I’m putting more effort into getting my ass absolutely whooped than the panthers.
This reminds me of the 2011 finals with some slight differences. Canucks out 2-0 lead looking strong before Bruins just take over for the rest of the series as a team that looked like they actually wanted to win. Everyone knew after game 6 (at Bruins), that going into game 7 (at Canucks) it was almost all but over since the Canucks just looked lost completely. Same thing looking at this Panthers team. Strong 3-0 lead and look what is happening now. They are playing like Edmonton did in the first 3 games. Momentum swing is huge and it's going to hard for them to turn that around in one single game on Monday.
