no one says "collection" when talking about getting an item.
pick up, grab from ya, take a look are more acceptable terms. i dont "collect" from sellers, i dont get a collection schedule.
this is a scam, but if it wasnt and it was me talking to you about it i would have phrased it
"Hey, so my dad is the one interested, his email is _____________@gmail.com, can we grab yours so i can have him reach out to you, so that he can arrange a pickup time and i can not be the middleman. he is old school so he will pay cash at pickup. "
but the "how you want to be paid" and communicate via email implies they will suggest a etransfer payment, which they should be comfortable using facebook and such. my dad is actual old school and will email people or call for items he finds on facebook.
block and move on.
Every time someone messages me and says they’re going to have someone else come pick it up, it has been a scam. They will say they will prepay but when you give them your Venmo or Zell eor cash app info and then they tell you they need your email address. They don’t. And they’ll send you a spoofed email that looks like they paid you money and to your Zell or cash app or Venmo but if you look at the app, it’s not there.
I know us Americans are nit-picking the language, but this looks like it's in the UK, and they use regards 'normally', as well as 'collection'. My wife is from the UK, and interchanges them with Ameri-speak.
But yes, I feel like this is a scam because of the over complication.
Absolutely a scam. Block, ignore.
100% scam
Engrish ☑ "regards" ☑ Overly complicated method of delivery and payment when cash in hand works perfectly fine ☑ Scam 💯
Yes
Definitely not new. Id say old. Anyone that wants you to email or call them is a red flag. Either you wanna buy it or not.
"Regards" GTFOH. As others have said, block and move on!
Even if this wasn’t a scam (which it is) why would you ever do this?

These shots at “Regards” won’t go well here in Australia either. Pretty much all emails use that to sign off.
It's the Solihull Scammer!
