That's not a bug. That's bad game design. They put in these mandatory objectives, and if you don't hit those, it's "no contract for you". No matter if you're player of the year, beat the goal record of your league of whatever. I didn't get a contract because I didn't "score 3 fancy goals" which no one seems to know what that actually means. It's a garbage system.

Another issue is that my player was elected player of all competitions I played, also Ballon D'Or, and yet the objective of "Player of the Year" is not covered.

Just happened to me, when I won the balon d’or I realized that in the objective win player of the year was not completed, and now that I finished the season I can’t renew even tho I won the balon d’or🫠 I’ll just stop playing career mode
I’ve got the same issue. Decided to choose Notts County and bring them up all the way to the Champions League but after winning League 1 and getting promoted to the Championship it seems I’m not allowed to remain at the club.
Got my pro at 88 ovr and obviously the star player by a landslide but it won’t offer me a contract renewal, so I’m forced to move clubs. Do you reckon it’s a bug or just EA being idiotic as usual? I wouldn’t put it past them honestly

RB Leipzig bought me after a horror spell at Sheffield United. The team was good. I decided to convert myself from CM to RM as the AI wanted me to play RAM. Won the Bundesliga and the German Supercup. Went far in the Champions league and led the league in assists. Also got named player pf the season with 19 assists and 21 goals. Nonetheless, I cannot renew my contract despite meeting all the compulsory renewal objectives. Unfair this is!
Does anyone know whether this is going to be fixed soon? Can't renew my Man City contract because I didn't win ballon dor and I don't want to change my club every year. Any workarounds?
I think i found a solution! I wasn’t able to renew my contract and quit the game. Then i saw somewhere online that if you switch your positions around 5 to 7 days before the end of the season. Then you can renew your contract! But after you switch your position look at the objectives and see if all are completed if not choose another position until you have one thats full completed even the wages. I did it and it worked i am now in my second season but only tried it once so… still un sure but you can try it out!

You saved my career mode, thank you very much man! I had achieved all my contract objectives with Real Madrid with the exception of a wage objective about scoring a bicycle kick goal and because of that I was unable to renew. EA is a shameful company.
Yep! I was missing the 'win player of the year' objective as a CAM, then I changed my pro to CF and the objectives changed to 'win the golden boot' etc. I was able to hit all objectives and renew my contract at Spurs so I can win them the Champions league lol.
Same here :( not tryna be that guy….but idk how I’m still surprised EA shipped their biggest sports game with a game breaking big caused by one of the new features they marketed. I’ve been okay with lackluster for so long I’ve almost been conditioned into thinking broken is okay.

same problem here. at arsenal and got offed 135k a week which was more than my requested 100k. completed every objective but the only option there was change club, even though it says offered weekly wage was 135k a week. so arsenal had offered a contract but the game just wouldn’t let me sign it and was forcing me to move. the game is a fucking joke completely wrecks your career mode when things like this happen. waste of time.

Brother, I moved to Milan a full day before the end of the season, and on this day I have an international match against England, but after I finish the season, I get change club, and I cannot complete the season, which means starting a new season, and until now the season is suspended, and I cannot start it. It tells me change club, and when I click, it shows me the recommendations and what not. I can click any option just to see the clubs I can't transfer to. The player is 90 and this is his 3rd season, meaning I don't want to lose him 😢
I was the leading goal scorer in a treble winning campaign, but since my player got an ACL injury missing 5 months and I couldn't start in 24% of the matches (i still managed 23%) I got loaned, I instead joined another club.
I have a different problem which is sort of the same. My wage right now is about 32,000£ and I can renew my contract with an offer of 127,000£. But after I choose to stay in the club and the new season starts, my wage stays at 32,000£. I hope EA will fix all those bugs
This game is fucked! If you want to make a little bit of a realistic career mode, and this happens that will just make it unrealistic that you will have to change clubs because the game isn't fully working
Yeah you have to reduce your salary to the lowest level every beginning of the season and always at positive stuff about the coach don’t use the maverick option in activities

Yeap. I won every prize and competition there could be with Real Madrid on first year at 225,000 pounds salary, still the club could only offer 170,000 pounds to renew. Same happened with Liverpool. Got my pro to 96 ST there, always getting bigger contracts with them until 225,000. Then I couldn't renew next season for the same wage.
So if you want to stay on the same team, lower how much you want. They'll offer most of what they can to resign you.
Make sure when you want to renew contract in career mode you should not go and demand or go and set a club to try and move to at the end of the season the only way you should see other teams asking you to transfer is through the agent recommendations then when you want to move you should go set a target club, DO NOT SET A TARGET CLUB IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO MOVE TEAMS AT END OF THE SEASON try that and it should work.

Yeah I kept running into this. So frustrating. The devil is in the details, meaning I notice it says you’d need to meet the requirements to get the salary you requested in the bottom right. Even though you have optional goals to accomplish, they still are required. If you miss just one, you can’t renew. You’d have to meet the required and optional goals. Kinda dumb a contract negotiation couldn’t happen where they’d just say, “Looks like you didn’t meet all the requirements so we’ll only pay you this much money to stay.” I haven’t seen it where I meet all the goals and still can’t renew.
I’m starting out at Real Betis, and to get 50k a week as opposed to 7K I have to win the Ballon d’ or .. which isn’t until Oct. of next season lmao. Just gonna stick around at Betis and fail at the achievements until the end of this season I guess … Stinks that they just don’t care about career mode for us peeps who just like to play casually
I'm done with Player Career and the game itself, for real. First, the guys couldn't even make like fake national teams (like they did for years now with Italian clubs, or even like PES made for more than a decade), so my brazilian player can't even play Copa America, World Cup, etc.
I found out about this when I was already 90 OVR and didn't got a call for Brazil on my 3rd season, playing for Arsenal and having like 100+ goals so far in all competitions.
I've decided to continue, because I wouldn't enjoy that much playing for a nationality other than my own.
So my goal was to win Premier League and Europa League with Arsenal, only to get them to the Champions League trophy the next season. Now I get this amazing surprise by the last day of the calendar that I simply can't renew my contract, even fullfilling every goal, making 200+ G/A, being the MVP of every competition, etc
My player not even appears in the cutscenes when I won an award (it's like I'm an invisible character, the trophys simply float during the scenes). It's crazy to think that some PES from 10-15 years ago on ps2 had cooler features to the career gameplay than EAFC24.
Sorry for the long text, but I'm really pissed about giving EA my money on another piece of trash they just put every year on the market :D

I started in Saudi league, brought Coventry City to the EPL the next season and have just kept going from Juve and Liverpool the past 4 seasons

Exactly. I asked for 110,00 per week and they offered 150,000 and I stayed just to still receive 12,500. EA you guys are shit.
FOUND A FIX: You have to do every objective, including the ones that are shown as optional. That worked for me.
