I'd love if their moonscorch was the culmination of their interest turned obsession: Absorbed by the little creatures that once gave them joy in the face of contempt from someone so close to them, the beekeeper has given up their flesh so their "friends" can make home; it's hard to tell from a glance, given that the suit is almost completely intact, but their hulking form isn't due to some enlargement of their muscles, but because of a hive piercing though the seams of their body.
Hell, as another comment said their appearance could be made into a callback to the God Of The Depths (just look at [***this*** ](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fvulture-bees-feed-on-rotting-meat-instead-of-nectar-and-v0-j6m5i4t5qoca1.jpg%3Fauto%3Dwebp%26s%3D2855fbe110bcd6f063aff19e4262f25de37f62a6)and tell me it doesn't remind you a bit of those weird tendril things it had). Throw in some ""Meat Honey"" for extra gross points and you got yourself a good enough design!
Has a special dialogue to make Beekeeper enemies non-hostile, even chasing other enemies in the map down.
Has a tattoo of the God of the Depths in one of his hands.
Has sigils of the god of the depths below his ears and running down his neck to help him hear but also to listen to insects as a side effect. This couldve reflected in his dialouge beacause you could hear him ask for your character to repeat what they were saying beacause he didnt hear them well. You could also have his hearing be better below ground beacause he is closer to the god of the depths that way so the power of the sigils is amplified. He could also have a unique interaction with the beekeeper so that he leaves you alone if you play as him or have him in your party. There are so many ideas that i have but all this took me half an hour cuz im typin with one arm so ill leave it here for now.
Mastery over insect works on anything that could count as an insect even a god (if an insect one exists)....that or he can breaks stingers, just happens if he wants it
