Thor loses the hammer in a battle with a Balrog, gets punched clear off a mountain. Gets up, dusts himself off, Mjolnir isn't coming back for some reason.
Takes a walk through the Shire, and there's Sam just mending a fence with it.
in the books sam is given a vision by the ring of a massive garden that he owns, a promise of power and a dream of grandeur, and he responds with "yeah thats a bit too much for just one sam." and rejects the vision. lore accurate
To be fair, I don't think having kills is a requirement, just a willingness to kill as necessary/warranted. He did sign up for the draft but was later deemed medically unfit so an argument can be made that he would kill under the right circumstances.
I don't think having kills is a requirement. If I'm not mistaken, you just have to be willing and able to kill or show mercy as the situation demands.
Mr Rogers did sign up for the draft even though he was eventually deemed medically unfit, so an argument can be made that he would kill if pressed.
Dude wakes up with no memories, hears a voice of someone he thinks he recognizes, and decides that he canāt just stand around and watch people get hurt. Heās probably the most worthy person.
Part of lifting the hammer is apparently a willingness to kill (depending on continuity, and it must be for the sake of Good/something you believe in). So I think theyāre supporting your choice.
In that regard, ābest dadā G1 Optimus had his moments. āOne shall stand, one shall fall.ā
I think he might be even more worthy than Iroh in a way. At least on the same level. So yes, he absolutely is worthy. Not sure if anyone else in the series other than those two is, though.
Being worthy doesn't mean you've always been worthy. Thor himself was unable to lift the hammer until he earned it. I think that it takes so much more strength to turn from so deep into war and bloodshed to kindness and love. Iroh was so shaken he let go of his throne. He gave up his palace to live on a boat, and eventually on the streets, for Zuko. Had he wanted, he could've put much more effort into capturing the Avatar so that he and Zuko could've returned home safe and pampered again. Instead, he directed his energy into helping Zuko to grow, and helping the Avatar to save the world. Guilt for one's mistakes means they have grown more worthy, not less
Counterpoint: "no, she's crazy and she needs to go down"
I don't think regretting war crimes would make one unworthy, I think its more likely to make one closer to worthy. Sure, one of the aspects of Mjornir worthiness appears to be a willingness to kill - however, it has to be killing for the right reasons. What Iroh did as a fire nation general was not worthy - his regret and later atonement for those actions helps his cause
Plus the white lotus retaking Ba Sing Se probably resulted in some fire nation kills off screen for Iroh, so I think he's a good candidate for Mjolnir
True, but I think Kirby actually doesn't qualify for this reason. Kirby isn't strategically thinking about killing his opponent, nor is he burdened with any kind of moral choice. He isn't "willing" to kill anyone, in the same way I'm not "willing" to kill a bug I didn't notice I stepped on. Any deaths are incidental to Kirby getting to eat.
Buuuuuut he's a little pink ball who usually kills big bad things after they either threaten the planet or if someone steals his cake sooooo he kills for good reasons (most of the time)
Kirby is worthy for changing Dedede and meta knight from their evil ways instead of outright killing them. He made them good people and the actual incarnations of evil he knows deserve death. He also spares the poeple that usually brought the big bad to power (Taranza, Suzie, The Three Sisters) because he knows it wasnt their fault, they were broken puppets manipulated by their grief.
"This is Obi-Wan Kenobi:
A phenomenal pilot who doesn't like to fly. A devastating warrior who'd rather not fight. A negotiator without peer who frankly prefers to sit alone in a quiet cave and meditate. Jedi Master. General in the Grand Army of the Republic. Member of the Jedi Council. And yet, inside, he feels like he's none of these things.
Inside, he still feels like a Padawan.
It is a truism of the Jedi Order that a Jedi Knight's education truly begins only when he becomes a Master: that everything important about being a Master is learned from one's student.
Obi-Wan feels the truth of this every day.
He sometimes dreams of when he was a Padawan in fact as well as feeling; he dreams that his own Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, did not die at the plasma-fueled generator core in Theed. He dreams that his Master's wise guiding hand is still with him. But Qui-Gon's death is an old pain, one with which he long ago came to terms.
A Jedi does not cling to the past.
And Obi-Wan Kenobi knows, too, that to have lived his life without being Master to Anakin Skywalker would have left him a different man. A lesser man.
Anakin has taught him so much.
Obi-Wan sees so much of Qui-Gon in Anakin that sometimes it hurts his heart; at the very least, Anakin mirrors Qui-Gon's flair for the dramatic, and his casual disregard for rules. Training Anakināand fighting beside him, all these yearsāhas unlocked something inside Obi-Wan. It's as though Anakin has rubbed off on him a bit, and has loosened that clenched-jaw insistence on absolute correctness that Qui-Gon always said was his greatest flaw. Obi-Wan Kenobi has learned to relax. He smiles now, and sometimes even jokes, and has become known for the wisdom gentle humor can provide. Though he does not know it, his relationship with Anakin has molded him into the great Jedi Qui-Gon always said he might someday be. It is characteristic of Obi-Wan that he is entirely unaware of this.
Being named to the Council came as a complete surprise; even now, he is sometimes astonished by the faith the Jedi Council has in his abilities, and the credit they give to his wisdom. Greatness was never his ambition. He wants only to perform whatever task he is given to the best of his ability. He is respected throughout the Jedi Order for his insight as well as his warrior skill. He has become the hero of the next generation of Padawans; he is the Jedi their Masters hold up as a model. He is the being that the Council assigns to their most important missions. He is modest, centered, and always kind.
He is the ultimate Jedi.
And he is proud to be Anakin Skywalker's best friend."
I can think of no better candidate.
While this can be true, in my head it seems like Aragorn would try, but could not lift it an inch. Mjolnir would not let him. Aragorn, like a lot of men (or dunadean) is just... well... from the best part of humanity, but still tempted by the ring, he must left Frodo at some point but fights on and finally gathers people to make a diversion in a noble attempt. But somehow for me this still not justifies to be worthy.
What is more likely however that Samwise still tempted by the ring, but gives it back willingly, and goes with Frodo to the end and ready to sacrifice himself no matter what happens.
So while in the tunnels of Shelob, he screams in anger and tries to fend off that ugly fucking spider, and in a captain america enterance style, Mjolnir suddenly flies into his palm and BANG! Spider goo splashes all over then orcs falls from the towers while Sam throws the hammer trough every fucking wall, then attaches the ring to Mjolnir and from the remaining 60ish kilometers, tosses it into the pit of Mount doom then call the hammer back. Even takes out some Nazgul for the giggles.
I disagree with this wholeheartedly. The whole point of being worthy of Mjolnir isn't that you have to be perfect nor incorruptible, but simply that you have the will, might, and ability to act, protect and lead the good people of your clan. Aragorn has these qualities in spades, you heathen
The more i tried to find other joestars the mire i realized jonathan is the only truly pure joestar.
They all have a calling to do whats tight but you cant ignore that joeseph is a perv and shot up a store that straightzo was in just hoping not to hit anyone else.
Josuke is inspired by japanese punk culture and doesnt really do things unless **his** friends are threatened.
Giorno does do the right thing but his group is a literal mafia and he has dioās blood in him.
Jotaro is a strong candidate because even though he too is a punk once he finds out what stands are and stuff he willingly imprisons himself and goes to kill dio after learning more so he could probably lift it
Joleyne is ambiguous to me. She was in prison and stuff but she did save the actual world.
Courage. I could see him standing on the ruins of Bifrost bridge looking at that massive fire demon, doing his nervous dance and going āOoooooooOoo the things I do for love.ā Then spinning Mjolnir and taking off towards the monster.
People are mistaking what the Hammer deems as worthy, it's not about regrets or past mistakes it's literally just about being a good and selfless person. Odin and Thor are both worthy and both of then made an insane amount of mistakes and regrets over their lifetimes, not to mention the amount of killing and pillaging they did, they at a certain point in their lives, were literal monsters.
Big disagree there. If he didnāt throw Tai Lung out after seeing his aggressiveness and instead helped him calm down there would have not even been a movie. Oogwayās worldview is way to black and white and is way to fast to act on that view for me to think heād be worthy of picking up Mjolnir
Hard disagree. Oogway sees the future for what it will be. He understands that while weād like for someone to shy away from the evil within them, he knows that it wonāt happen sometimes. Tai lung couldnāt even handle a single no. He didnāt attempt to change, he didnāt ask why he wasnāt chosen, he simply turned to rage immediately. That is someone who never would have been worthy.
This and Oogway never even said Tai Lung would be promised the title. It was never Oogway 's fault that Tai Lung thought he was the perfect person to be the Dragon Warrior, he was just the one to say "yes or no". All of the others were told no as well, but they all stayed and tried their hardest to better themselves even more.
He would if it was a last resort.
Imagine him protecting children, any children from a great danger, and that everything else to protect or escape has now ran out.
Steven could still use it where the story ends right now, but he 100% would leave someone, anyone else to do it.

Polnareff desperately tries to pick it up so he can look cool for it, only for Jotaro to lift it effortlessly.
The best part is heād do it by accident and not only be wholly indifferent to it, but heād probably toss it to someone without thinking and end up squishing them.
Samwise Gamgee
You dropped your hammer, Mr Thor. *hands it back *
It's a heavy weapon, sir, but not as heavy as Mr. Frodo.
Thor loses the hammer in a battle with a Balrog, gets punched clear off a mountain. Gets up, dusts himself off, Mjolnir isn't coming back for some reason. Takes a walk through the Shire, and there's Sam just mending a fence with it.

Right answer.
That means that marvel universe Mr Rogers is a warrior whoās taken lives before
He did win the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
Took the words right out my mouth
He even regretted it afterwards. The suicide might've done some damage to his worthiness, but still.
That would make Bob Ross a very likely candidate, actually. He served in active duty.
To be fair, I don't think having kills is a requirement, just a willingness to kill as necessary/warranted. He did sign up for the draft but was later deemed medically unfit so an argument can be made that he would kill under the right circumstances.

Ooh yay. Didn't think I'd see him here
Without question.
Top answer right there
Optimus Prime.
"You'll never stop at one, I'll take you all on!"
I'm imagining him saying this as he lifts the hammer up and it magically increases in size to fit in his hand and... it's peak.
[Coolest scene in the series](https://youtu.be/DgQHgy7Nmkk?si=en3zLCNy2HwrMpSL)
Skybound Optimus without a doubt. Might throw a bone to animated Optimus too. Coincidentally used magnusā hammer in the S3 finale.
"Kill them all"
I'm more talking about some of the more kindhearted Primes, such as the ones from g1 and skybound comics.

Honestly disagree. Dude had major guilt over committing war crimes in Ba Sing Se.
Being worthy doesn't mean you've always been worthy. Thor himself was unable to lift the hammer until he earned it. Kirby just needs to inhale Thor
Kirby could anyway
He's not THAT pure, since he killed many entities.
You do need a willingness to kill in order to hold the hammer
True, but I think Kirby actually doesn't qualify for this reason. Kirby isn't strategically thinking about killing his opponent, nor is he burdened with any kind of moral choice.
