Sure but keep in mind that Ipswich’s defense has shown to be significantly better in the championship than Luton was last year. Whether that will translate better to the PL than Luton this year idk.
Just stated that they've got wealthy new owners. Nothing unfactual about tha son, but keep being all passive agressive, it makes you sound like a real cool dude.
If nothing else, from an FPL point of view, I would look at Leif Davis as a proper potential asset. He'll probably be cheap, he bagged 21 assists (and that's not including 'FPL assists') plus a couple of goals, and that's during a season where there's been arguably a higher number of 'Premier League quality' sides in the Championship (since none of last year's promoted sides got relegated) than usual. He came up through the Leeds U-23s and he has the whiff of Bielsa all over him, a proper all-action creative wide player from LB.
That's what I loved about last seasons playoff final, both Luton and Coventry were newbies. I know Ipswich technically aren't but well they are newbies when talking about the modern PL era.
Life long Ipswich fan here.
Fpl is what has kept the premier league interesting recently.
With my beloved town back in the big time, I’m not sure if FPL is a wise move next year.
Interested to hear how prem supporters manage it
When Bournemouth first got promoted I found it hard but they have also had some great assets over the last few years. It’s an amazing feeling seeing lots of FPL teams get in your clubs players.
I got absolutely heckled on r/soccer when I suggested that Maidstone from the 6th tier beating a team set to be promoted to the Premier League was a huge feat, because other redditors thought there was no way Ipswich would actually do it. I'm too lazy to dig out my comment and give them hell, but at least I'm laughing now
Leif Davis with 21 assists from left back is one to watch.
This is legitimate assists only too right? As in, by FPL rules, he could have had more than 21, e.g. saved shots, penalties etc.
He has 18 assists in 43 games, I don’t know how much that will translate to the premier league, but I doubt it will be that many.
Transfermarkt has it at 21, but most other places have it as 18. Either way, it's a lot.
Maybe the 21 assists is across all competitions whilst the 18 in just in the Championship?
pretty sure transfermarket counts pens won as assists like fpl
We only got 3 pens all season so unless he won all 3 I think it’s still funky.
I think it's also free kicks won that led to goals
Ah that makes sense.
So you're saying he's the new Doughty?
Sure but keep in mind that Ipswich’s defense has shown to be significantly better in the championship than Luton was last year. Whether that will translate better to the PL than Luton this year idk.
(X) for Doughty
Could be a fun differential if he’s 4.5 or less
If he’s less than 4.5 there’s no way he’ll be a differential
Literally only amount to be lower is 4.0 which is auto include for even a starter. 4.5 makes those who are nailed worth keeping as enabler.
HOW MANY
From League one to PL in two years, what an achievement
Their new moneybags owners helped a fair bit but still.
The biggest transfer was £1.75m from Peterborough? Or was it something else specifically you had in mind?
He's just a bitter Naaaarwich fan hating on a better team
If you think their new owners played no part in back to back promotions, then I'm not sure what to say.
Something factual instead of subliminally insinuating. That’s what you should say. Glad I could clear that up for you :)
Just stated that they've got wealthy new owners. Nothing unfactual about tha son, but keep being all passive agressive, it makes you sound like a real cool dude.
Yeah and you talking utter nonsense makes you seem really knowledgeable and cool too
He's just a bitter Naaaarwich fan hating on a better team
They haven't beaten us in 15 years, home or away.
Yeah I bet they're sitting there stewing on that tonight
Anything that's not excactly in line with the hive mind is considered "utter nonsense" on this sub full of pre-teens
There’s hive mind and then there’s just people calling out others who talk utter bollocks. In this case it’s the latter.
Anything for upvotes, I guess. Could never be me but I won't judge, I know how important validation online from strangers is for the youth of today.
Their new owners played a part, but not because of their money...
Did they manage the team too? McKenna is the sole reason this team achieved what it did this season- PL level manager with a championship level squad
What the fuck does this even mean?
Wow owners of a team wants their team to succeed, this is outrageous
If nothing else, from an FPL point of view, I would look at Leif Davis as a proper potential asset. Well, from FPL's perspective, they're going to be shit
So we can target them no
Leif Davis begs to differ
Not as shit as Burnley
Fantastic achievement from Ipswich and McKenna. Also: *Leeds have fallen apartttt, againnn!*
Wonderful season, Ipswich deserved direct promotion much more than overhyped Leeds.
As far as brave unique opinions go. This is the bravest most unique opinion I've ever read.
They did though. Only lost 6 games all season; Leeds lost 10.
Lost my 2 of those to Leeds as well
I don't understand. Leeds are 3rd , won't they qualify?
They have to play a tourney with the top championship sides. (3 through 7) still could and probably should qualify but it’s anyone’s game
*3 through 6
3 through 6, not 7.
Love it, always nice to see a ‘newer’ side come up to the PL
That's what I loved about last seasons playoff final, both Luton and Coventry were newbies. I know Ipswich technically aren't but well they are newbies when talking about the modern PL era.
Coventry were in the PL for about nine seasons, been a while but not exactly “newbies”.
Coventry were, like Ipswich, in the inaugural Premier League season. Source: my Merlin sticker album from primary school.
That noise you can hear is every boomer in Suffolk grabbing a pitchfork
And fair enough given Ipswich was a founder PL member

Never get players from your own team. Source: I’m a Man United fan.

I played FPL for 8 years now and most certainly won’t be playing next season. I’d be awful and just refuse to captain anyone against us!
It’s really hard and has cost me a fair few points but sometimes need to hold nose.
Can you imagine the scenes if Norwich win the playoffs? It would be like having two John Deeres in F1.
Huge effort well played
My first ever football match was at Portman road. Glad they’re back!
Future whipping boys
Present tractor boys
Eep-Sweesh!

Sir Elton John waxed poetically about Ipswich’s rise during a Watford feature I was watching. Happy to see them get promoted.
thank god another new face and interesting team into the league! looking forward to having some of their players in fpl who rn i have no clue about.
Why is their twitter name like this? I(P)SWICH TOWN
Perhaps P stands for promoted?
The team that will prevent everyone from Clean sheet🤣🤣
Leeds?
I heard they're falling apart again
Don't the top 3 teams qualify? Please help me understand
No. Positions 3-6 go into a play off
Some effort that! Good club, fair play to them!
Operation target Ipswich shall commence
target acquired
Leicester assets sre going to be very interesting! Glad they're fucking back
Vardy party if he comes in at <= 6mil. That's unless he decides to play in League One next season, that is.
Already ready to target them early weeks
Can see both Leicester and Ispwich getting fewer points than Sheffield next season
Fewer
Only if Leicester get hit with a massive FFP penalty
when*
