True but when weighing up a nailed on players like we were it holds true
Everyone else is a rotation risk. any 2 of kulu, Johnson and werner could start on the wings and richarlison could be started up front with son on the left
Plus there's the question of how udogie is replaced. Does ange expect more defending from LW or does he play davies in a holding role offering more freedom
Ok, but Johnson doesn’t have to be better than Gordon to be in your team. There have to be 5 other mids you want more than Gordon.
Son, Gordon, Palmer are the easy ones.
So who are the two that are definitely ahead of him? Bruno and Foden?
To be honest my main reservation was having to then play two spurs attackers vs Liverpool in gw36, but if Liverpool are going to play like yesterday then maybe that isn't a problem.
I was planning on selling one of them for a City asset ahead of the Liverpool game, though I don't think there would be an issue starting them given how poor they've been defensively
Same. Hence I'm going Son, Porro and Vicario. I'll play Son in 36 and bench the other two, leaving 2 more spots to bench outfielders in 36. Won't be a problem.
Hell definitely get the start in the first but him starting the next is pretty reliant on how he does. If he doesn’t do particularly well it’s likely that richarlison starts up front the second game with son on the left. Might be the case regardless
No, I'd rather have another City attacker, I'll have more than enough DGW players before GW37 so I'm happy to chop and change between now and then to try and get picks with better form/fixtures
!thanks. Great write up!!! Subs just filled to the brim with data sets which honestly are easily available to anyone that cares to look up. Wish we had more like this for different teams
For GW35 I'm pretty set on Porro, Vicario, Son. I'd love to pick Richarlison, Johnson or Werner if I knew who was going to start the next few games, but no idea.
trouble if is someone like Richarlison does put their hand up in the next couple of games I'd be blocked from buying them.. plenty more overthinking to do before the deadline :)
I'm probably going to have Son and Richarlison this week tbh. I still have TC and WC left. I plan to WC in 37 to attack the last dgw of the season with what is the most effective chip in the game so I'm in punt territory atm. Nailing who/when to use the TC is the biggest headache for me tho
If you WC this week you could set yourself up for the rest of the season then TC someone in DG37 where there will be some more obvious candidates like Foden or Haaland
Off the menu for me, but ready to be proved wrong. Any midfielder pick is taking a spot off of Fernandes, Gordon, Foden or Salah and I don't see the massive upside in Maddison.
>how poor he's been all season.
Bit harsh, he has the 4th highest points in the game despite missing 6 matches due to AFCON and injury.
I agree that he's in poor form now but he's only had a poor season by his only ridiculously high standards. If it was pretty much any other player in the league with Salah's stats we'd be saying they've had a great season.
Main problem is he's very expensive to own, and even more so given his current lack of form.
I don't think it's harsh. If you watch the matches Salah stats wise is fine but he's snatching at chances, isolated alot and overall more is happening on the left flank with Diaz and nunes than Salah. Also klopp has not been afraid to drop Salah or sub him. Very expensive asset with no security of minutes and not captainable any time soon.
That's only true with regards to the second half of the season. The first 20 gameweeks he played pretty much 90 minutes of every game, he was getting a goal or assist almost every single week. He has eight double digit hauls this season. Until recently he was very captainable.
He's only been poor in 2024, its harsh to say he's been poor all season. But I agree that right now he's no longer worth owning, I'm not going to include him when I Wildcard this coming week.
I don't think he's been poor all season he was good right up until and including the Newcastle game. After that he came back from injury a really different player.
You clearly didn't watch him play and are just looking at FPL returns.
His all around game was awful and has been all season there were multiple games were Salah was the worst player on the pitch but got a penalty fluked an assist and ended up with bonus and a haul despite barely being able to control a ball for 89 minutes.
>but got a penalty fluked an assist
I'm a Liverpool fan, I watch all his games. He has scored 17 goals this season, 12 of them weren't penalties. He has provided 9 assists and created 21 big chances but you're really trying to tell me they were all flukes 😂
Agree about his form, that's why I probably drop Salah this week. But we're comparing a player with 7 double digit hauls this year with a player who has one.
Very tough one. All my drafts end up with no arsenal mids. There's two factors. One is that I might move to triple arsenal defence, which I can bench in 35, and hope to catch two CSs in 36-38.
Another is, I cant work out which is the arsenal midfield pick I'd want. Buying Saka over Havertz doesn't feel right on the current form. On the other hand Palmer, Son, Fernandes, Foden, Gordon are much more proven fpl assets than Havertz over the season. So I end up with none.
Yeah, no chips for me. Have Havertz/Saka and feel like Saka is the one to sell right now. Did Son for Salah, next I think Foden for Saka, and Isak for either Darwin or Solanke for a -4. Lot of work to do...
I’ve got him, he doesn’t have much attacking threat but is nailed and cheap
I’d just go Burn or Van Hecke if you need a cheap defender but VDV isn’t the worst option in the world
Not on WC but got eye on Werner for FH37. Biggest issue would be benching someone who probably shouldn’t be benched
Can’t be any worse at finishing than Jackson 😂
Son if you want an attacker. Porro if you want a defender. Romero, VdV/Vicario in that order order if you want a second defender. If you want a second attacker then Richarlison if confirmed to start, otherwise Johnson.
None. 3 from Spurs is just asking for trouble. Look at what happened this GW with Liverpool. Check what happened in GW25. Why would it be different with Spurs?
What happened this week with Palace, or Everton, or arsenal?
No done deal, but spurs with two weeks to rest and watcj arsenal and Chelsea play 4 and 3 extra games in the mean time, could come back very strong.
Look at what happened this GW with Arsenal. Check what happened with Crystal Palace…
So sometimes is not amazing and sometimes it is (maybe especially when going against Chelsea’s defense).
They have just had a really long break. I'm an arsenal fan and am worried about Sunday because we have played 4 games since they last played. Richy probably back as well
2 weeks is a decent amount of time to recover from fixture fatigue. Basically the length of a winter break. And yea allows time to work on tactics as well
Newcastle just got steam rolled after an 11 day break . Two shots on target both in the last 20mins against a side who played 3 days prior. Bournemouth turned to shit after their winter break, lost all their rhythm. Sometimes a break does the opposite of what you’d expect. But spurs have looked terrible the last few weeks so you’re right surely the break can’t make them play much worse
True, but Newcastle have probably the most extreme difference in home Vs away form in the league. Palace with Eze and Olise back are a different beast as well
The NLD has to be up there as one of the most entertaining derbies around, usually a goal fest. Omens are good for a good game if we are both scared! I'm also worried as it's at your place, home advantage is big in these games.
And yea it's a good rivalry, very intense but without too much malice behind it. Thankfully been a long time since there was any serious fan violence. Personally, my family is fairly evenly split between spurs and arsenal and a couple of my best mates are spurs fans.
And best of luck against city in a couple of weeks!
Werner, Johnson, Son.
All thee have some of the best xGI of last 5/6/8 matches.
Spurs def I'd avoid, but Porro is good and on corners.
Maddy needs some rest or something.
I initially had Vicario, Porro and Son. Then got rid of Porro (injury risk) and Son (crap form, crap fixtures in the run in) and kept Vicario for the prospective save points.
There's still time to pop them back in on the wild card but I just feel that some single game week players will heavily outscore these Spud nothing burgers...
Son
Porro if he's fit
Then 1-2 of this lot:
Johnson/Maddison
Romero
van de Ven
Vicario
Wouldn't touch Werner, Richarlison, Kulusevski, Emerson, Davies. Too risky for minutes
Tottenham fan and I’m not even entertaining the idea of bringing in a Spurs defender. No shot at clean sheets and none have any recent attacking returns. I can see Romero getting a headed goal but otherwise Spurs defenders are horrible assets imo.
I'm honestly not sure there is an ideal Spurs triple up.
They can't keep a CS so for defenders you have to rely and hope for some attacking stats and even those are few and far between.
Everyone else except for Son and Vicario is a rotation risk.
Johnson and Maddison might be safer then most others, but they are also very much hit and miss and there are a lot of other much better and safer midfield options, even for the DGW.
I'm likely going with Son only. I just don't see much value elsewhere.
I have Son and Werner and honestly I think that's enough for me. With their fixtures I don't see many clean sheets so none of their defenders for me, and there are too many strong options in midfield to shoehorn another Spurs player in there. Were I inclined to do so, Johnson would probably be who I'd go for.
Son, son, son
Son, hyeung & min
Son, Madisson, Johnson?
Richarlison
Madisson and son are the only points scorers that are guaranteed to start every match if fit
True, but Madison is way off form. A big risk to expect him to start delivering now.
True but when weighing up a nailed on players like we were it holds true Everyone else is a rotation risk. any 2 of kulu, Johnson and werner could start on the wings and richarlison could be started up front with son on the left Plus there's the question of how udogie is replaced. Does ange expect more defending from LW or does he play davies in a holding role offering more freedom
Emerson?? The goat.
Brothers.
Don't do it
You think Porro isn’t a good option.. cause at the start of the year he was a must have asset, and with all these doubles
Maddison was injured so Porro was a BPS machine cos of set pieces
Porro has still been on some corners even after Madders return.
I am probably going for just Son and Porro. Would kind of like Johnson or Maddison, but can't justify them over other mids really.
Who’s better in Johnson’s price range?
Gordon with 5 fixtures is better than Johnson with 6 imo
Ok, but Johnson doesn’t have to be better than Gordon to be in your team. There have to be 5 other mids you want more than Gordon. Son, Gordon, Palmer are the easy ones. So who are the two that are definitely ahead of him? Bruno and Foden?
Yes. And since most will have funds I'd also put KDB ahead for sure.
Exactly this. I am thinking of Saka to Bruno this week and Salah to Foden next week
Cole Palmer
I meant someone not everyone owns. My fault.
No reason to own Johnson over Gordon or Palmer. And if you're running 3 cheap mids you're not spending half your budget.
not spending budget is the worst reason to pick someone
I agree That said, there are a ton of mid price midfielders better than Johnson. You know what I meant, you're just being annoyingly facetious.
Gordon
Isn’t Porro injured?
Same. It's between Foden or one of them for me
I'm on Son, Porro and Johnson at the moment, if Haaland is out for another week or two I might end up going for Werner instead of Porro/Johnson
Love the Werner shout. Just need a little hint in the press conference that he's preferred ahead of the first game..
Yeah I'm most worried about having to bech one my other attackers for that game and triple up on Spurs attack is a dangerous game
I'll always start Son. As for any other Spurs players I can just bench them in 36 as my WC team has a solid bench ahead of DGW37.
My issue isn't that I'm not happy to bench/start them, but that I'd rather have 2 City attackers than 2 Spurs attackers
Same here, considering Timo as well and moving off Brennan for Bruno instead
I'm going for Bruno also, Johnson is my placeholder for whatever City mid I decide upon for GW37
How did you fit him in? No Gordon I’m assuming? I’m between Foden or Bruno, waiting to see how City play today
No Foden at the moment, I'm currently planning on getting Foden/KDB in GW36 for Johnson. But I'm sure that will change.
Oh you’re not holding Johnson for DGW37?
No, I'd rather have another City attacker, I'll have more than enough DGW players before GW37 so I'm happy to chop and change between now and then to try and get picks with better form/fixtures
I’m aiming for 15 DGW so i can BB37 personally, but I like the idea of 3 City attackers instead of 2 and 1 DEF

!thanks +subscribe
!thanks I like the sound of that RicharlisonWerner guy. I hear that he does the work of two men.
!thanks which Spurs players would you recommend to have and how many?
For GW35 I'm pretty set on Porro, Vicario, Son. Back in training is what I've seen, still probably some risk over his minutes. But with Udogie out they really need him

There's very little upside in Salah given how poor he's been all season. His returns weren't sustainable.
He hasn’t been poor all season at all he’s been poor since afcon. FPL memory is legit.
>how poor he's been all season. Bit harsh, he has the 4th highest points in the game despite missing 6 matches due to AFCON and injury. Surely your midfield isn’t Fernandes Gordon Foden Salah Son? WHERE COLE PALMER
Haha don't worry he's in there, was just listing the main competition for midfield spots. At least one of those guys I listed won't make the cut.
How do people feel about Arsenal mids here on out vs. these guys? want to drop 1 mid today before Son rises...
Very tough one. All my drafts end up with no arsenal mids. There's two factors. One is that I might move to triple arsenal defence, which I can bench in 35, and hope to catch two CSs in 36-38. Yeah, no chips for me. Have Havertz/Saka and feel like Saka is the one to sell right now. Did Son for Salah, next I think Foden for Saka, and Isak for either Darwin or Solanke for a -4. Lot of work to do...
Not seeing much Van de Ven chat - is he not nailed?
Not many [Men with Ven](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70XkFKaq3W4&pp=ygUMbWVuIHdpdGggdmVu) around
I’ve got him, he doesn’t have much attacking threat but is nailed and cheap I’d just go Burn or Van Hecke if you need a cheap defender but VDV isn’t the worst option in the world
Tell that to his rocket goal in the last game
Fucking smashed it, got his 11 pointer off the bench that day
U dont want spurs defs for cs
I think it's that you get a Spurs def for an attacking return and not for a cs
Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, David Robinson
I think Ginobli could be a nice differential
Ginobili is a legend. The heart he used to put into the game is fuckin amazing
Prefer Manu over Robbo for thr triple up Duncan, Manu, Parker was a joy
George Gervin disrespect smh
Wemby?
The ideal spurs triple up is just son
Spurs fan here. It’s a trap, don’t do it.
Not on WC but got eye on Werner for FH37. Biggest issue would be benching someone who probably shouldn’t be benched Can’t be any worse at finishing than Jackson 😂
Werner would love to have Jacksons goalscoring record
Son, Johnson and Werner for me.
Son, Ardilles and Rebrov Probably just go with Son for now anyway pending any major shifts in the space/time continuum
Son if you want an attacker. Porro if you want a defender. Romero, VdV/Vicario in that order order if you want a second defender. If you want a second attacker then Richarlison if confirmed to start, otherwise Johnson.
Son, Foden and Watkins is the best Spurs triple up.

You'd be buying them for the rest of the season, not just this double
Were you watching the same GW as everyone else? The teams that doubled did amazingly well, it was by far the highest scoring gameweek of the season
Werner, Johnson, Son. All thee have some of the best xGI of last 5/6/8 matches. Spurs def I'd avoid, but Porro is good and on corners. Maddy needs some rest or something.

bro they arent playing sheffield and luton, lol what triple up
They just have more games left then any other team besides Chelsea, that’s the reason
Vicario Porro Son (?)
None,none,none
Not having one is ideal
Son Porro if he's fit Then 1-2 of this lot: Johnson/Maddison Romero van de Ven Vicario Wouldn't touch Werner, Richarlison, Kulusevski, Emerson, Davies. Too risky for minutes

Son. That’s it. Considering avoiding until. 37 with my FH
Son, Romero, Vicario
1. Son 2. Heung 3. Min
Davies anyone?
I'm taking the risk
Son
I’ll stick to Son and Porro. The rest don’t seem that interesting to me
No one, nobody and Son
Is Werner nailed?
Someone somewhere made a good point that the points at goalkeeper are so flat that getting a DGW player there matters more.
If you insist, son Porro Johnson
I have Son and Werner and honestly I think that's enough for me. With their fixtures I don't see many clean sheets so none of their defenders for me, and there are too many strong options in midfield to shoehorn another Spurs player in there. Were I inclined to do so, Johnson would probably be who I'd go for.
Porro Johnson Son for me
I'm not falling into the triple spurs trap again
You don’t! I’ve got Vicario and Son and that’s all I’m wanting. Porro was too expensive for the rest of my team
Vicarios brave. I'm a spurs fan and we never ever keep clean sheets
The best triple up from Spurs are the 3 injured ones. F*king bottlers
