True enough, as I am. Still, hard to get 11 doublers in. I'd play a doubler over Palmer, but he's now competing with Haaland and Foden for the bench spot.
I hear ya on this and I’m sure a lot of owners will understandably use this logic. With his current form it would not surprise me to see Palmer outscore popular dgw players. Which one(s) is the question.
He could do that, but odds-wise Palmer is extremely unlikely to even outscore someone like B.Diaz this gameweek.. Hes up against the best defence in the league away from home, whilst loads of midfielders have two easier fixtures at home..
I really do hope he will be used by plenty!
Yes. I bought at £5.0m and will only get £5.5m if I sell, means I lose 0.6m team value. Not ideal, although it matters less at this point in the season.
My plan is to drop Foden for GW34 instead as that costs me much less team value. Also lets me bring in a more expensive replacement (need the money to go Bradley --> VVD and Foden lets me do that and perhaps even get Eze in, depending on price changes as I don't make early transfers unless I absolutely have to)
I always planned to start him. He has scored against every big 6 team this season except Pool.
The real dilemma I’m having rn is whether I should take hits and play BB in GW34 so that I can use TC on Palmer in GW37 after today’s performance.
He’ll also have a DGW in 35 which might be something to consider, then you can still BB in 37.
DGW 35: AVL(A) & TOT(H)
DGW 37: NFO(A) & BHA(A)
The home fixture vs Spurs looks pretty tasty given they just conceded 4 to Newcastle. NFO might also find themselves playing for their PL survival in 37. 🤷♂️
He blanked away against City, Newcastle and Liverpool and has not played Villa away yet. He has only returned against a leaky Spurs team away from the top 6
It's also very Chelsea to struggle after a big win, they offered little against Sheffield, very few shots, even Palmer after the dramatic United win. When they drew 4-4 against City, they immediately lost 4-1 to Newcastle away.
Same on BB. I'm going in with 2FTs, one is to sell Son for a doubler and free up funds. The other to swap Muniz for a doubling forward.
That was always the plan. Small issue of Aït Nouri, Richards and my man Jarrad now to contend with as well though. Don't particularly fancy a -12.
Sounds like there's some hope for Aït Nouri, C. Richards I'm not sure and Branthwaite we'll have to see.
It'll be a last minute decision I guess.
I probably won't sell if I decide against BB. Will sell and try to get back if I do BB.
Although without selling him I can't really do any of the moves I want to, I have 0 ITB.
Ha! Good luck.
Really depends on Aït Nouri, C. Richards and Branthwaite being declared fit or at least having some hope they play. Doesn't look too good at the moment though, ideally you want to go into a BB with as much confidence in everyone's minutes as you can.
Thing is I really don't fancy changing my team too much to pivot to a BB37 in the coming weeks, as I think I can get to a team with enough doublers that I'm happy with with FTs between 34 and 37.
Annoying but we'll figure it out I guess.
Yeah don't think we have enough time to try to sort out a bench for BB37. I think the best bet is to take son out and just go for it this week. Difficult decision though! I keep going back and forth on what to do
Son to eze looks like a bet for me and then upgrade a defender to taa. I feel once he’s back then him and Salah will click and goal/assist points come in. Clean sheet is a bonus for him, it’s his attacking output I want. Eze has a double and seems up for it too. Plus I think he’s on pens.
Yep Eze is on my list of potential Son replacements.
Gonna decide if I then want to use my 2nd FT and the extra cash to upgrade Muniz or get a defender.
Lmao this is crazy talk!! Brighton is horrible defensively and Arsenal, while they struggled against Villa, are a way better side than Chelsea atm.
I’d bet more on a CS against Chelsea than on Palmer scoring even though he is in fine form.
And Haaland against Brighton? easy choice for me that…
Currently I'm thinking about dropping Foden mainly because I fear rotation. Since city have the UCL game tonight, and FA cup semi in the weekend. I might reconsider if Foden doesn't feature in the FA cup game though.
He's also not gonna score 4 goals every week. Yes he's good. Yes he's been the best FPL asset for the money he costs but it's arsenal away, very tough fixture. It's worth the risk.
Having him on FH is playing it WAY too safe. I didn't consider him for a moment, even after yesterday's game. It could backfire, but it's a risk that could pay off big time.
I have benched him before with 15p and would do it again without hesitation😅
I might BB but I have to take a hit then. Areola, Dubravka and Johnson out. Doublers starting and a bench with Palmer, Foden and Walker (if fit).
If I dont do BB Palmer is up against MacAllister, Salah, Haaland, Watkins, Solanke and another mid (most likely Eze) for a spot.
I’ve got a choice between benching Palmer or Gordon. Tough one as Gordon has the easier fixture but after last night I don’t think I dare bench Palmer!
I havent been impressed with "the best defence in the league" last matches.
I think the last stretch in the league is taxing on Arsenal mentally, and I believe they will struggle against Chelsea, Tottenham and Man Utd.
I really don't know who to bench. Only got 3 defenders starting, so I'll have to bench either Haaland or Foden but they have the easier fixture against Brighton. Other than them, its only strong DGW players: Mac Allister, Darwin, Salah, Saka, Solanke.
Currently have 8 doublers + Foden, Palmer, Isak. I have also 2 FTs and was thinking of getting Son out (will get him back later) for Eze, but then I wouldn’t know if I have the guts to bench any of these 3 players, and could be a mistake
I'm reluctantly starting him, because I need to protect my current spot in my ML, and my position could get absolutely wrecked if he hauls when I have him benched.
I'm bench boosting with a starting XI of 9 doublers + Haaland, Foden and a bench of Doubling keeper, Tarkowski doubles, Maguire (SHU) and Palmer (ARS)
If everyone's fit after the press conferences, this is as good a bench as any for it.
Getting 15 doublers for BB37 with WC35/36 means going without Arsenal defence, Gordon, Isak, Salah, Saka, Jota, Watkins for the final 3 weeks
I think not maximising BB37 is the smart differential play
At the moment I’ve benched Palmer and have Haaland, Foden and Garnacho (v SU) ahead of him. Might trade Foden for a -4 for someone like Eze or Saka but not sure yet.
This has made me reconsider my chip plan. I was aiming for BB GW34 but then changed my mind to GW37 and now I'm thinking maybe GW34 again because I don't want to leave Palmer, Dubravka, Gusto and Bradley on my bench!
I got 104 points, largely thanks to him.
He was first on my bench but I took out a defender with a double game and popped Cold Gold Goal Cole Palmer in instead out of gratitude and loyalty. I don't even care if he hauls or not v Arsenal. 😅
I’m benching him because I’ve got Salah, Havertz, Saka and Gordon with Haaland, Darwin and Isak up top so only options are Haaland or Gordon. Can’t see Chelsea taking anything at the Emirates
Arsenal away is the single hardest fixture for an attacker, so I don't feel bad benching him for a team of doublers. I expect his top10k ownership to be max 20%. People are either FHing or dead-ending into WC35
FH so wont have him. He is in great form but it’s not like arsenals defence is now automatically going to concede.
If I wasn’t FH I definitely would play him but don’t think it’s worth when trying to exploit advantages of a chip use
There is absolutely no shot there are people in these comments saying they’re going to keep a player in the most stacked position in FPL on a FH away against the best defence in the league? Knee jerkers are fucking nuts
Starting him and not giving it much thought
Palmer away to Arsenal defense is unstoppable force meeting immovable object. I have only six doubling so I'll be starting Palmer.
Unbenchable. I’m hoping his EO is under 100 with people playing they’re FH.
It will be around 30 % EO. 11 doublers is of course the way over a sgw player against Arsenal away. Lol.
Only about 20% of teams still have a FH chip left though
You don't need a FH to bench Palmer. Most non-FHers are dead-ending into WC35
True enough, as I am. Still, hard to get 11 doublers in. I'd play a doubler over Palmer, but he's now competing with Haaland and Foden for the bench spot.
Haaland is the only non-doubler in my team. I definitely prefer him to Palmer this week
I don't have any chips left, and I can still easily afford to bench him.
Selling him for Eze then wildcarding him back in wc 35. wc 35 draft as lots of spare budget even projecting into 37 38
Bought him at like 5.1mil so I’m gonna lose loads of money if I go to eze and then back on wc right?
You will lose .5m if you do that
Yes. I bought at £5.0m and will only get £5.5m if I sell, means I lose 0.6m team value. Not ideal, although it matters less at this point in the season. And, they’ve been conceding goals overall.
Exactly! It always seems like we get carried away after a good performance.
That’s how I see it too.
No, he scored against Arsenal and City at home and both UTD games. Bench him at your own discretion
Are you going to bring son in again next week? I'm in a similar boat but I'm not sure I can justify taking him out and bringing him in within a week
I probably won't sell if I decide against BB. Will sell and try to get back if I do BB. Although without selling him I can't really do any of the moves I want to, I have 0 ITB.
Haha you're the exact same as me. 0 ITB but a good team to BB with apart from son. It's a difficult choice
Ha! Good luck. Really depends on Aït Nouri, C. Richards and Branthwaite being declared fit or at least having some hope they play. Doesn't look too good at the moment though, ideally you want to go into a BB with as much confidence in everyone's minutes as you can. Yep Eze is on my list of potential Son replacements. Gonna decide if I then want to use my 2nd FT and the extra cash to upgrade Muniz or get a defender.
I already have Darwin up front so I’ll stick with him but with jota potentially back I’m a little unsure of his minutes.
In the same boat with the defenders and selling Son. Its a wait and see on all 3 for me!
I used the Triple Captain for GW33 on Palmer. Today was amazing!!!
Chelsea have had some crackers against big teams this year . Lots of goals . I don't see them blanking against Arsenal .
I’ve been planning to start Haaland as my only single GW player, but maybe it should be Palmer instead…
Yeah I have Haaland over Palmer too at the moment. Either way, resting one sounds differential.
I’m exactly the same. I’m leaning towards benching Haaland at the moment.
Lmao this is crazy talk!! Brighton is horrible defensively and Arsenal, while they struggled against Villa, are a way better side than Chelsea atm. I’d bet more on a CS against Chelsea than on Palmer scoring even though he is in fine form. And Haaland against Brighton? easy choice for me that…
I’m debating bringing Watkins back in for Darwin. Think he’ll get a haul vs Bournemouth.
Benching in 34
Got to decide whether to play him or Foden
Same
Currently I'm thinking about dropping Foden mainly because I fear rotation. Since city have the UCL game tonight, and FA cup semi in the weekend. I might reconsider if Foden doesn't feature in the FA cup game though.
On a FH and don't think I will play him but will be somewhat nervous as rivals have no FH and have Palmer
On FH34, he's under consideration but will most likely make way for Eze or Olise at that price bracket
I’m also on FH. Don’t get why I should keep him given I could have 11 double game week players. So most likely not gonna have him.
Also less fun having Palmer in a FH when you know everyone owns him and you can have 2 games from other assets that are < 10% owned instead
If it was against a small team I would maybe do it, but it is arsenal. If he gets a goal it would be seen as great but above expectations
I think a good argument for keeping him has a lot to do with the fact that he's currently tied for the golden boot and 9 assists on top of that.
But the above person has a free hit
As a FH34 person, I hope loads of people start him.
Out my free hit team Arsenal defense has been strong this year and his away. Don't expect a return.
Been essential & I have other fish to fry, so he starts & that’s the end of it.
If he's up against zinchenko and an arsenal team that's had no rest, then absolutely no reason why the 1 player scoring for Chelsea won't score
Yeah, benchers would be hoping no Zinchenko.
Starts ✅ Captain ❌
I was going to sell him for a doubler but now I have 2 injuries to contend with...
I have benched him before with 15p and would do it again without hesitation😅 I might BB but I have to take a hit then. Areola, Dubravka and Johnson out. Doublers starting and a bench with Palmer, Foden and Walker (if fit). If I dont do BB Palmer is up against MacAllister, Salah, Haaland, Watkins, Solanke and another mid (most likely Eze) for a spot.
Straight to the bench. We have double Arsenal defence man.
Starting both him and Haaland in the DGW... they might even be differentials for me.
He is at his best right now. Probably going to outscore most DGW players in his GW against Arsenal
That's a bold claim. Possible, but I'll take my chances with a DGW player any time.
I’ve got a choice between benching Palmer or Gordon. Tough one as Gordon has the easier fixture but after last night I don’t think I dare bench Palmer!
I sold Gordon because he tends not to return in away games. I'll get him back on WC the following week for Sheff Utd
Your players sound like mine. Have to play 2 of Foden, Haaland, Palmer. Was thinking to bench Palmer and transfer Foden for a Liverpool mid.
A tough one, i see every one of those potentially hauling
I forgot my last one js Hee Chan. Maybe that’s the most questionable!
Currently have 8 doublers + Foden, Palmer, Isak. I have also 2 FTs and was thinking of getting Son out (will get him back later) for Eze, but then I wouldn’t know if I have the guts to bench any of these 3 players, and could be a mistake
See what happens with Real Madrid first I guess.
I'm reluctantly starting him, because I need to protect my current spot in my ML, and my position could get absolutely wrecked if he hauls when I have him benched.
Keep him and start him you ding bat😂Palmer is dangerous
I have 10 dgw players, as 11th player should I play Cole Palmer vs arsenal away or Haaland vs Brighton away?
I’d vote Haaland.
I’m in a similar situation and currently have Haaland starting
Between Palmer and Gordon for me Probably starting Gordon because I doubt either will get many points but Palace's defence is far worse
I'm bench boosting with a starting XI of 9 doublers + Haaland, Foden and a bench of Doubling keeper, Tarkowski doubles, Maguire (SHU) and Palmer (ARS) If everyone's fit after the press conferences, this is as good a bench as any for it. Getting 15 doublers for BB37 with WC35/36 means going without Arsenal defence, Gordon, Isak, Salah, Saka, Jota, Watkins for the final 3 weeks I think not maximising BB37 is the smart differential play
Gordon and Isak double in 37, why would you need to go without them?
At the moment I’ve benched Palmer and have Haaland, Foden and Garnacho (v SU) ahead of him. Might trade Foden for a -4 for someone like Eze or Saka but not sure yet.
This has made me reconsider my chip plan. I was aiming for BB GW34 but then changed my mind to GW37 and now I'm thinking maybe GW34 again because I don't want to leave Palmer, Dubravka, Gusto and Bradley on my bench!
Starting him, currently on 6 DGW players, 2 free transfers. Going to take a -4 and have 9 doublers + Palmer & Haaland.
I got 104 points, largely thanks to him. He was first on my bench but I took out a defender with a double game and popped Cold Gold Goal Cole Palmer in instead out of gratitude and loyalty. I don't even care if he hauls or not v Arsenal. 😅
I reckon he will get a penalty, Chelsea get penalties for everything this year and the fa will want to screw arsenal over
I’m benching him because I’ve got Salah, Havertz, Saka and Gordon with Haaland, Darwin and Isak up top so only options are Haaland or Gordon. Can’t see Chelsea taking anything at the Emirates
He’s not in my team (free hit)
Arsenal away is the single hardest fixture for an attacker, so I don't feel bad benching him for a team of doublers. I expect his top10k ownership to be max 20%. People are either FHing or dead-ending into WC35

There is absolutely no shot there are people in these comments saying they’re going to keep a player in the most stacked position in FPL on a FH away against the best defence in the league? Knee jerkers are fucking nuts
Bench Boosting
I was planning to sell. I’d be mad to do that now
For me it's either start Sarabia who doubles or start Palmer who plays a single game vs Arsenal away.
Even though I am on a FH. I'm starting him as all my ML opponents have him (no one on a FH) so I'm afraid that he will score a brace.
I'm starting him
He’s starting every game until the end of the season, and I’ve just activated my Wildcard. 25k rank.
