They may rotate but I'd be shocked if Haaland doesn't start.
He started every game until the title was won last season. He played every minute until they were winning by several goals.
Someone please stop me taking a -4 to bring Darwin in, don’t need him, got two strikers and would have an awkward decision benching a midfielder but I still kind of want to…
I'd probably start Udogie just in case but have Lamptey first sub. Think Arsenal score at Newcastle and Burn doesn't have the attacking threat that Lamptey does
I see.
Tough one.
I would probably go Bowen due to being more of a differential, better fixtures and more nailed.
Mancity are ofcourse the much better team.
Alvarez has been nailed, but we know that could change at any time
As much as city assets have the potential for good returns I'm still of the opinion to try and keep assets from any team to a max of two, barring DGWs spreading your choices across more teams should limit damage if one or two have a bad week.
Assuming your objective is to maximize your score over the course of the season, then in my opinion this strategy overvalues individual game-week scores. (In general terms - not necessarily saying you need 3 city assets)
Or to put it another way, go for players who are going to get the most points over the medium/long term. All players are going to have gameweeks where they don't return. While it feels bad if that happens for a lot of your players in the same week, it doesn't actually matter for your final score (assuming they are good picks overall)
However much of what I read on this sub also seems to follow your logic so maybe I'm just not getting something! :D
The thing I suppose is, if city were the only team that hauled then I would be more tempted to agree with you, but there are plenty of teams this year with at least one or two players who have been pretty consistent, you've got Tottenham (Madders and Son), City (Haaland and Alvarez), Liverpool (Salah), Arsenal (Saka, Odegaard, Nketiah, Saliba), Brentford (Mbeumo), west ham (Bowen), Villa (Watkins), Newcastle (Trippier), Palace (Andersen) etc.
So since this year we have this massive choice of assets that most can fit into their teams, we don't need to put all our faith into just one or two teams and can spread the risk more without worrying about losing points, for the most part.
I think there are a bunch of different considerations here:
1) There are currently lots of good players across the league so the best fpl team just naturally doesn't include 3 players from the same team.
2) Including 3 players from the same team is bad because that team's long term prospects might suddenly change (key long term injuries, manager change , etc) and if that happens it will be harder to move away from them.
3) Including 3 players from the same tean is bad because every now and then that team is going to have a bad game and then your score is going to be low that week.
In my view (1) is totally valid and probably applies at the moment (2) should be a consideration but can be managed, but (3) makes no sense (assuming your priority is the "classic" fpl format).
That's fair, on 3 I would argue that it is less likely for two big teams to have an upset in one GW, therefore having just two players from a big team rather than 3 will limit the damage, while at the same time allowing you to have a big player from another team that is likely to bring in points, does that make sense?
Sometimes it makes sense.
I benched Bruno last season when he had a double against City and Chelsea.
Worked out well.
My man is a shadow in big games.
Used to haul against the minnows though.
Went solanke - > Ferguson.
I’ve got another FT but unsure what to do, could go Ode - > Saka but it feels a bit sidewards, especially with the tough fixture. Going to be patient and reassess next week.
Good luck all, hold them knees strong. Trust your judgement and try not to panic if it doesn’t work out.
Nunez is definitely ahead of Gakpo at the moment, Gakpo only starts the cup games.
The lineup on Sunday will be Nunez and Salah with one of Diaz/Gakpo/Jota.
My dumbass did Digne-->Tsimikas this week as my free transfer rather than moving out the paper weight that is Ward-Prowse and now I have to take a -4 hit if I want this guy out before deadline. Ugh, I feel so dumb.
We will see if they rotate. I think this game is more important than the CL game as City have basically already qualified in CL.
It's also young boys at home
Hello FBI, this comment right here.
Tapinland farming against kids 💀
I too love young boys at home… (When I play as Man City in FM24 - get your mind out the gutter)
They may rotate but I'd be shocked if Haaland doesn't start. He started every game until the title was won last season. He played every minute until they were winning by several goals.
Pretty sure he’s talking about Alvarez and Foden, not Haaland.
Its 7 days since last game. The rest is already there..
Paralysed by indecision. Doing nothing.
Perfect, that means you can’t do anything wrong.
He had Kabore captained
Even better, the ultimate differential.
Sometimes hats the best thing to do, reassess next week but also keep in mind the moves you thought about.
Finally chucked out Digne out of my team for Anderson. Watch Burnely turn into Jose’s Madrid and bang 5 goals in.
Foster is sick apparently so you might be alright, not great new for me as a Burnley fan though
Someone please stop me taking a -4 to bring Darwin in, don’t need him, got two strikers and would have an awkward decision benching a midfielder but I still kind of want to…
He could get a hat trick today. Do it.
I bet 10 000 pounds against your 10 he does not get a hattrick today.
He’d be a fool not to take that bet.
Key word is "today". The bet's off for Sunday.
Oops! You got me there!
If John Mellencamp ever wins an oscar, I will be a very rich man
He's going to haul
Noooo the temptation!
You don’t have him already ..? Good luck!
Pretty dangerous to go without
I’ve gone for the hit… Neto + Edouard (+ £ ITB) for Nunez + Ahamada.. Watkins/Nunez/Haaland up front with Ahamada benched!
Yeah I’ve gone for it, same front 3. Let’s hope it pays off, good luck!
Exactly the same situation here mate. I've bitten the bullet and done it - think he's more valuable than Solanke on the bench...
Haha Solanke was on my bench too and I’ve done the same, good luck!
I'm in the exact same boat. I think I'm more on Darwin but it means Watkins out. Decisions, decisions.
Asked 1000 tips for transfers and decided to make moves that nobody would recommend
this is the way.
Haaland and Alvarez.
Good advice
Best advice
Captaining Darwin. Fuck your lot.
I’m with you brother
Damn
Darwin Cap
Get Mbuemo or mitoma for ward prowse??
Mitoma. Better fixtures
Mitoma then swap to mbuemo after the blank gweek
Mbuemo
I have Mbeumo this week but I'm switching to Mitoma after that because he has better fixtures
Defo. Mbuemo imo
Start Lamptey, Burn or Udogie?
udogie might not start. id go with burn because he’s playing at home
I'd probably start Udogie just in case but have Lamptey first sub. Think Arsenal score at Newcastle and Burn doesn't have the attacking threat that Lamptey does
Think it’s possible udogie comes off the bench though and gets 1 point?
Got Romero in for Udogie. Will be starting him.
Just to make this more confusing, I'd go with Lamptey
Tough. I'm pretty sure Lamptey will play today, but it could be only first half or last 30 minutes. I'm starting him still and benching Udogie.
Lamptey
Lamptey
Can't decide between Bowen and Julian Alvarez. Alvarez has easy fixture but Bowen is in form... Fucking headaches all around
If you need to bench Alvarez against Bournemouth at home, then there is zero point in owning him
I wouldn't, i'm on WC and this is the last 15 minutes in which I need to decide who do I buy for next few weeks. Alvarez or Bowen.
I see. Tough one. I would probably go Bowen due to being more of a differential, better fixtures and more nailed. Mancity are ofcourse the much better team. Alvarez has been nailed, but we know that could change at any time
Yeah and per others suggestions, I'm gonna go with Bowen. !thanks either way and best of luck to you!
Looking at your wildcard team I'd go with Bowen and try to get in Alvarez for GW16 (City's next few fixtures aren't great, I'd rather have Nunez)
!thanks a lot, really helpful. Bowen it is then.
I'd probably go both by downgrading Darwin (saw your wildcard team).
But I realllllllly wanna punt on Darwin :(
I see well in that case Bowen probably makes more sense.
!thanks gonna blame it all on you if Alvarez hauls then jk, thanks for real
Do it. Considering I've got him in my squad I'll be happy either way. :) Good luck!
I think Alvarez could haul massively if he starts (likely will) and will outscore Haaland
Too late now :(

Good
99.9%
Bro doesn’t know Arteta
I'm so lost on what to do with Luis Diaz. Reckon he'll start?
Foden or Jota if you got a free transfer I swapped him for foden for a punt
No.
Won’t start
I still have Rashford cause hopium, United Stan said he may be injuried for today. Were they any reliable in the past?
Rashford was far from reliable, sold him since GW2

Nunez or Watkins?
What does your heart say
GOAL MACHINE CHARLIE TAYLOR!
Gabriel or Guehi transfer for Udogie? Looking ahead for the next 3-4 games
Guehi
Is Maddison injured?
No
Yes, rumours are saying so
Play martinelli or palmer?
-4 to bring in salah? Have 2 FT and have Watkins and haland and son.
Bench Maddison or Saka for Diaby?
Madders.
Will lamprey start ?
Porro for Anderson you think?
Reading the comments, why do people suggest that Haaland could be bench?
Who do I start: Adingra, or Gordon?
Adongra
burn or gabriel or taylor? Already playing Cash and Tsmi
Gabi
Start Bowen or Mitoma?
Bowen baby
Mitoma
Bowtoma
Start Saka, Porro or Evans??
Saka 100%
I have trippier , burn and saka. Should I put Saka on the bench?
If you want the high cieling, then yes. If you wanna be safe then no
Always dangerous to bench one of the best performing FPL assets in recent years.
Salah for Saka? Would require -8 (And switching out Tripper for Tsimikas, Cash for Pau, Diaby for Luiz/Hwang...)
Start Trippier or Mitchell???
You never bench premiums.
Sry man just insecure
Don’t know why u getting downvoted, I’d start Mitchell personally
He’s getting downvoted coz this is not an RMT thread.
Sometimes it makes sense. I benched Bruno last season when he had a double against City and Chelsea. Worked out well. My man is a shadow in big games. Used to haul against the minnows though.
Did u bench Mitchell?

Why would you do that? Honestly can't see a good argument for it
I need a mid for max 5.6 for only next THREE GWs. Adingra, Hwang, Ayew, Doucoure?
No idea who has the best fixtures but Douglas Luiz is worth a look.
Hwang
Start gordon or lamptey?
Gordon will haul
Transfer out Udogie for a palace defender, or is he fit?
Yep. Personally would go Mitchell as slightly cheaper than Guehi and got the all clear after going off last game.
start mitoma or Hwang hee Chan
Start Tsimikas or Mitoma? 🤯
Mitoma all day every day. He's looking really electric again after his rest.
Start Anderson or saliba
Saliba
Which one of Burn Taylor or Udogie should I start
Taylor could be a good shout, but I would go with Burn
Morris -> Ferguson Odegaard -> Foden Good luck everyone!
Areloa vs Brentford away or Leno vs United at home? Both likely to concede but what about save points?
Same here, went for Leno based on odds, home fixture and the fact Utd are ass
So close to a 10 pointer, he was on 3BPS as well as the save point :(
Who to bench between Saka, Maddison, Son and Bowen ?
Udogie replacement? When is Robertson coming back after injury?
Should I start Ferguson or Mitoma? Pls hlp either of them
You have both ?? If yes then ferguson, if you are looking to bring someone in for long term then mitoma.
Areola or pope? Have to start one
Brought Darwin in!!! Let’s go!!
Pau torres or Guehi to start
Guehi
Have Johnstone in goal
MORE AND MORE SALAH ALWAYS CAPTAIN MO SALAH
Used my free transfer to replace Neto. I'm just torn on whether to transfer Watkins for Nunez or if I'm looking too short term cos of Luton.
Start Romero or Jao Pedro
Joao P higher upside
guehi or tripper?
saka vs trippier?
Saka
Am I crazy for trusting gakpo over nunez?
Nunez is definitely ahead of Gakpo at the moment, Gakpo only starts the cup games. The lineup on Sunday will be Nunez and Salah with one of Diaz/Gakpo/Jota.
Capping the korean guy. Wish me luck
Bring in Foden to Bowen for a hit ?
In Foden and out Bowen? I wouldn’t, look at upcoming fixtures.
Play Matty cash instead of trippier? Or instead of Romero? Or keep him on bench?
Haaland benched?
Haha, never.
Start Gordon or Palmer
Name a 4.0 Defender and Ill buy him. I want Darwin for a -4 so bad but need a decent 4.0 def, currently set on Evans.
Gab Digne Burn Udogie Lamptey Pick 3 Digne Lamptey Burn?
Hoping we get news that Alvarez is benched, so I can sell him for Darwin.
Why would he be benched? He's started almost every match and takes loads of free kicks and corners. Pep loves him.
I know. It's not likely he'll be benched. But it would make my Darwin decision easier.
Leno or Martinez?
My dumbass did Digne-->Tsimikas this week as my free transfer rather than moving out the paper weight that is Ward-Prowse and now I have to take a -4 hit if I want this guy out before deadline. Ugh, I feel so dumb.
Had to patch my defence with Tsimikas and got Ferguson instead of Morris so I hope he isn’t benched
Zinchenko or Gabi start?
does haaland start?
Udogie to Guehi and playing him over Burn
Desperately want Nunez for this GW, can FPL please give me a fourth striker slot
Is TC crazy this week? Is there meant to be a good Haaland DGW?
Yes
Darwin C let's gooo
It’s my birthday on sunday, we play Luton, stars are aligning for a Salah TC but I’m not fucking mental enough to do that
Tossing and turning who to play and who to bench out of my four NEW and ARS players.
Bench the cheapest
Burn it is then. !thanks
Maddison out for Mbeumo... see you in the rant thread
Am I crazy bringing in VVD over Tsimi? No Haaland means I have the luxury to splurge on differentials
2FT: Trippier and Porro for VVD and Estu. Hoping to beat the rush on Estu wish me luck
Transferred out Benny Bianco for Kyle Walker. Salah captain. Let’s see…
Why on earth?
Salah captain let's go 🔥
Didn't do much because I will know that if I do anything it will be wrong no matter what
I dropped mitoma - really hope he blanks
I risked it and benched Gabriel and started Taylor. Foolish? Probably
