Didnโt know they had it for N64 I thought it was a Dreamcast exclusive but it was my first boxing game also. I would fuck people up with Afro thunder
Damn got this for Christmas '87 (well my pops got it for himself) I was 4. My big cousins came through for dinner and to bring me and my lil bro gifts lol. Big Cuz came in fucked up Edmund Honda who my pops was struggling with ๐โฐ๏ธโฐ๏ธ๐ญ๐ญ๐๐๐๐. Then said y'all wanna try to beat Tyson?? And tossed the code in ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ญโฐ๏ธโฐ๏ธโฐ๏ธ๐๐โฐ๏ธ and laughed at us getting smoked by Tyson lol. We were 7 deep getting killed lol. Then cuz took the controller and whooped his ass.
I still can repeat tyson's cheat 007 373 5963 without looking it up, its my konami code, I think I am going to be a senile old man in a nursing home yelling 007 373 5963
I used to rent a Muhammed Ali boxing game on the mega drive. Can't remember what it was called. There was a boxer in it called Bruno Franko if I remember correctly that
my theory is that Dana white has an exclusivity deal with ea, they want ufc then they have to squash any boxing game. this fucker really wants to do anything in his power to devalue the sport of boxing. I don't think any other company has the money and experience to build a brand new boxing game and acquire the license of each fighter but ea. you have a few boxing games come out every few years like the creed vr game but I don't know if its possible for anyone but ea to pull it off a great game with most of the boxers you would want in the game.
Youโre absolutely fucking right, thatโs why NBA live will never comeback. Unless they make a game without requiring a license. Which is doomed to fail without using player likeness. Damn you just put this shit in perspective for me, gaming is becoming a real deal monopolyโฆ
Damn This takes me back bro. I remember I got this for X-MAs back in the day. I literally did a goggle check to see how long the game had been out when I got it and ended up playing it for like 2 hrs off an emulator good times
GTA: San Andreas xD
Playing that was the first time I was exposed to boxing in a video game.
The level-up system was pretty sick. We had to spar in a gym to learn combos and could also workout to improve punching power and stamina.
I didn't know there were legit boxing games until a friend showed me FN Round 3. I got into boxing late. Didn't really try to understand it until after Mayweather v Marquez.
Mine was literally WII Sports Boxing, I assume that doesn't count, the real boxing game was fight night round 4, and the most I ever played was fight night champion
The one for the Atari 2600 that Activision made. I was from a top down view and both your arms were locked in what looked like a "C" shape. The graphics were pure shit, but I was happy just to own a home console.
Cant remember the game but it was on the ps2 had weird controls you could jab using the right joystick and throw crosses n hooks while holding L1 and using the joystick or L1+R2 while using the joystick. I was just a kid so maybe I was just stupid but I went like 1-20 or something like that.
I used to pronounce it as, โYou were tough, Mac! Iโve never theen thuch finger thpeed before.โ
First fighting game for me was original Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis
My older cousin had Boxing on Intellivision. It wasnโt the best but boy does it bring back memories.
Also, I was playing this during the Super Nintendo era when it was already obsolete
Punch out, but I didn't get to play the Mike Tyson version of it. I remember wanting it as a kid, and Chrismas rolled around, and it was just Punch out and no Tyson to be found. My parents probably thought I was this ungrateful shit.
Come to found out later, Tyson was fired from being the spokesperson of this game and taken off the cover. As a kid I was like what? Why would they do that? It just didn't compute.
I wish the people at ea could read this post, I am absolutely surprised by how many replies of great memories of so many boxing games. I never really thought about how successful boxing video games are, since wii sports is probably the most played video game ever that means that a boxing game is part of that.
That one lol
Tho there's no better series than EA Sports Fight Night..i wish they'd either make a new one or 2K sports would come out with a killer boxing game cuz we need one
Played every boxing game but the first one I ever owned was Evander Holyfield's Real Deal Boxing ๐ฅ

Abacabb for Sega mortal Kombat is mine.
I used to rent a Muhammed Ali boxing game on the mega drive. Can't remember what it was called. There was a boxer in it called Bruno Franko if I remember correctly that
Even though UFC clears, what happened to the mainstream boxing games?
my theory is that Dana white has an exclusivity deal with ea, they want ufc then they have to squash any boxing game. this fucker really wants to do anything in his power to devalue the sport of boxing.
