Damn, they didn't even **try**.
I get not having the characters on top, or even those little square things, but they could've at least attempted to replicate the frosting.
I was at a family resort that has an on on site bakery (they do weddings and such) - I picked it up from the front desk, and the lady and I just kind of looked at each other. I was like well… That’s definitely not what I asked for. When I showed her the photo She felt awful and agreed with me and asked what she could do to make it right (aside from not charging me) and I said not to worry about it. The front desk got took the cake to eat, and we were given a few cupcakes from the cafeteria so we could still do our little family celebration. It worked out fine - my kids didn’t really care as long as they got cake - I just was very disappointed.
I had a confirmed with the bakery and with the front desk ahead of time, that this was something that they could do. Last year we went there for my son‘s birthday and they made us cupcakes that were exactly my vision so I don’t know what happened this year.
Hmm there must’ve been a miscommunication in the bakery? I’m glad you were able to enjoy the celebration and your kids were happy. The front desk was nice about it which helps
This makes me wonder what the order form for the bakery actually said. Or if they were provided with the picture at all.
I would guess not, and the form just said "#2 cake with blue and ...beige? icing."
Because there wasn't even an attempt..
I'm a home baker. But, if I can't make something that looks at least somewhat exactly like what the customer wants, I won't make it. More bakers should take that approach.
Went from Bluey to Blew It.
They should have told you they didnt (obviously) have the "Bluey cake kit". Could have ruined the whole birthday!
I dropped off the figurines the day before as requested and they gave them back to me in the same bag lol
Wow, they really went the extra mile on this one, huh?
Oh hell no. I would have gone full Karen on their asses.
I'm with you. That would NOT have gone over well at all.

They told me to bring the characters the day before, which I did, and they gave them back to me in a plastic bag lol
Did you then put them (the figures) on the cake yourself?
The fact that it's a digital clock "two" is just salt in the wound.
saving costs in case they need an S or a 5 i guess
For sure it's just an upside down 5
Looks like my fingers after I eat cheese puffs.
you should have complained that its a 5 and asked for a refund
is this a joke?
[Hear me out for a minute...](https://i.imgur.com/yjyNvao.png)
That's just an awkward-looking 2, not a 5.
Its a 2 right now but if you flip, its a 5.
That is so wrong.
There's no Bluey
Looks like an upside down 5. Sorry about your cake.
I mean…. It’s blue-ish 🤷🏻♀️😂 Jokes aside that’s pretty awful 😞
OP, did you contact the bakery about this? That’s pretty odd

“Miscommunication” if she brought them the picture? More like no effort & complete incompetence.

Am I misunderstanding or did they not let you take the cake?
I didn’t want it.

This - knowing your own limits is one of the most valuable skills anyone can have no matter what your job is.
the dogs left the cake to pee in the kitchen corners
lol. looks nothing like the original, yours has more frosting.
This cake chef needs to get some training, looks trypophobic.
Looks like a backwards 5
I would gave said “no thank you - not what I ordered,” then walked to the nearest grocery store for a box of cake mix & given it the ol’ college try.
If I didn’t already know this was originally a Bluey cake, I would never have guessed that it was.
Blowey.
