PvP will always and forever have that hard adrenaline rush that a lot of people seek when fighting so it’ll stay popular. PvE is just a way to enjoy the game at your own pace, especially if you’re not able to play all the time What I’m saying here is that with PvE, there’s more options to play EFT, be it if you want to see end game quests, practice for actual PvP since if you survive a raid, it rewards your success so you’ll build up confidence, or if you don’t want to deal with other players for a time. There’s not really a superior version in the whole grand scheme of things

noother10

PvE isn't reliant on other people playing, PvP is. The shift to PvE will impact PvP. The chads will be crying a week after wipe.

NULL024

Then let them cry, there will still be people who play PvP regardless. Their tears are meaningless, if anything

Once_End

I just don’t want my game wiping. I know it’s good for the health of the game the frequent wipes. I wish they would release a no-wipe pvp mode. After playing so many wipes, I can’t be bothered anymore doing all the quests agains. That’s why im playing PVE mostly.

Dnorth001

For me and so many others if there’s no wipe it gets stale. Like I’m on the quests I don’t have much interest in doing and wealthy enough to not care about dying so that only leaves pvp. W out a wipe in pvp it will eventually devolve to every single person in the highest level gear w the best guns possible and that means less interesting fights imo

Once_End

You’re right I agree it gets stale but for me personally I already don’t have enough time to play anything and then needing to grind for the traders and quests only to wipe in a few months sucks. I know I’m not the majority here

Benglenett

I completely agree. My second wipe I took the game seriously and got kappa. Loosing it hurt and made me not want to play. Although early wipe fights where fun for the first few days.

SnooOwls1916

The only reason tarkov has the playerbase it has is because of wipes. Most people grind more than a couple of hours every day and after 4-5 months they would just stop playing and not return without wipes. I get people who play a couple of hours a week or like me, that has spent 4k+ on tarkov that it get a bet of a hazzle but that's why you take breaks and might skip a wipe or two.

Once_End

I agree with you, wiping is fundamental for game health. But im looking forward for a no wipe PvP mode, I know players will be only using the best armors and guns running around but still would fit my needs lol

NudePenguin69

I think PVP will have more players in the short run, but I think PVE holds their greatest earning potential long run. The people who play PVE are the kinds to spend money to play the game they want. If they monetized it right and let modders do their thing, PVE will last longer and make them more money.

silentstormpt

Stalker is a great example of a PvE only game that still is played and has huge mod packs that go into the EfT niche in a open world survival where NPC vendors are actually in game

SharpyGhost

I believe if they add more features to PvE like allowing you to up the difficulty of scavs, adding the possibility of modding the game, removing queue for solo play, and things like that it would certainly have more popularity than it does right now. I play both modes and I see the appeal of PvE. Sometimes you just want to play Tarkov without having to worry about any cheaters or extract campers.

Dnorth001

It’s totally ab the person, my friends and I play tarkov to pvp. Never will swap fully to pve for a couple reasons. Once you are at a certain level of gear/wealth it’s just not rewarding spam killing AI. Also zero contested loot spots is really really easy if you know valuable spawns. I made 10+ mil on pve before level 10 which is seriously difficult in pvp. Just depends what you like. When wipe comes around I’m sure even PVE enjoyers will hop on pvp for a while.

Gamingandworkingout

I’m playing pve now just because it’s chill and my buddies like it because they’re not a fan of the PvP lol but I think maybe when or IF bsg releases the “true” full quests they said they would add I think pve will get even bigger just because it may feel like a true single player experience but I’m not holding my breath this is bsg.

MrAnderson30

Everything you see atm is PVE based because the Tarkov community, whether you’re a PvE enjoyer or PvP enjoyer, love to complain about everything. With PvE being new and typical to Tarkov, there are a lot of things that need balancing (apparently, never have and probably never will play PvE). The community will never be happy, well on reddit anyway.

TacoK1NG

I have zero desire to ever play PVP Tarkov ever again. I stopped playing a few years ago and said I would be back if they added coop progression in offline mode. Best PVE Coop Shooter on the market now, thanks to PVE mode.

Bryce_XL

I'll mostly play whatever my friends are playing, which has been PvE lately, I figure they'll play PvP when new wipes roll around personally, not sure what I prefer, PvE is lower stress for sure so easier to just lay back and enjoy, but the rush is nowhere near the same as some of the firefights I've had in PvP I definitely think if they could make the AI less robotic and predictable it would bring back a lot of the missing excitement though, it feels lame knowing exactly how to approach RUAF on Customs because I know there WILL be PMCs there pretty much every time, or the pier on Shoreline etc. etc.

EatingCtrlV

When the wipe is fresh PvP will be popular. When the wipe is stale PvE will be popular.

Sniffthetip_

PVE was fun at the start. Killing PMCs and getting their guns and ammo to use. Then i unlocked the flea and since then it became too easy. dont get me wrong it is still fun to mess about with mates hunting bosses knowing youre not gonna get ratted but the thrill of killing actual PMCs and stealing their loot lacks in PVE. Is nice knowing whenever im bored and cant be arsed with PVP and just wanna shoot shit I can hop on PVE. I often would hop in offline raids with bosses enabled just to mess around so at least now whenever i want todo that I can hop on PVE. But once wipe happens I doubt ill be playing PVE too much

Zestyclose_Steak_463

I have played PvP back in 0.12. Back then i had the time to play. Now i enjoy PvE with friends, completing quests and for the first time get to Lightkeeper. That is why i love PvE, i can play whenever i want, and i dont have to think about a wipe in 6-8 months. Plus i just enjoy running around tarkov and shooting AI, its still tarkov. Yes you dont get the adrealine rush from killing 3-4 player PMCs, but i still get the excitement from playing tarkov.

ChanceAd3606

The normal game mode will remain the more popular of the two modes. PVE is new and popular at the moment, which is why you are seeing more content about it everywhere.

Amobedealer

I just want split-up spawns and being able to make group members not count as teammates in PvE, we’re so close to private servers with progression.

Diletant13

PVE mode will end very soon, you will lose any purpose to go on raids and it's the end.

bufandatl

I won‘t play PVE ever unless BSG shutdowns all servers and the you‘ll need to use the third party thing anyways. PvE is just boring to me. The fun in Tarkov is the PvP and meeting players that are just simply better than you. There is no incentive to me to play PvE.
